Hello. I am on my 3rd year of being on Loestrin 24 FE and in the first month or two I had the regular spotting and breakthrough bleeding. However, in the past couple of months I have experienced spotting and breakthrough bleeding all over again and that is not normal for me. What could be going on? I take my pill at the same time daily and there haven't been any changes of lifestyle.

Has anyone ever switched from Loestrin 24 to Ortho Tri Cyclen Lo? Anybody ever gotten pregnant while on the "lo estrogen" pills? I switched from Loestrin to Ortho because I started not having periods AT ALL on the Loestrin and I had CRAZY PREGNANCY SYMPTOMS. I got a blood test but it was negative. Now I am on Ortho and am a little nervous because I've heard and read that some people have gotten pregnant on this pill. Any advice????

I have been on Loestrin for about 4 months now, true it is low in hormones but I am taking it continuously for Endometriosis so I haven't had any spotting at all. Loestrin itself means low in estrogen.

Hello, I am 29 yo considering OC to help hormonal imbalance (not so much pregnancy prevention). I have cystic acne along my jawline. I have been using spironolactone 50mg daily about a year. Overall, it's improved about 50%, but will worsen during pre-mentraul flare ups. However, my derm is hesitant about increasing my dose and suggested adding on OC. Any reccomendation on what estrogen/progestin combo to try for acne?

I've been on Loestrin 24 for four months now. the first 2 pill packs i had a regular period. The 3rd pill pack I had a little spotting but it wasnt a period at all. I took a pregnancy test and it was negative. Now with the fourth pill pack..I never got my period, not even a spot of blood which is weird and the past few days at least..ive been experiencing stomach cramps, alot of nausea, and breast tenderness. any ideas ?

I think they're confused. If you read the full prescribing information, it's the PILL that screws with the lamotrigine, not the other way around. It's not like a lot of other anticonvulsants. I was on Loestrin 24 Fe for 5 months but my doctor switched me to Lo Loestrin 24 Fe because she thought I needed a lower dose, as I kept getting recurring yeast infections. The first month that I was on Lo Loestrin I got my period, very short and very light for about 2-3 days. This month I delayed my period by a week because I was going on vacation. So when it got to the placebo pill I just took a week of "active pills" from another pack.

ive been on loestrin 24 fe for about 2 weeks now i started it on a sunday which happen to be the first day of my period that lasted 7 days to end to start with the breakthough bleeding 2 days later and it has yet to stop any idean how long this is going to last i cant begin to think about bleeding for months stright.

So like I said, this is aparently normal when on Loestrin. Im going to go on the generic of Loestrin, Junel Fe, which worked for me in the past and I think its 21 days of the pill and than 7 days of the "period" part. As much as I dread my period, it's a reassuring thing.

Hello, I've been on birth control since I was 15 (now 23) for ovarian cysts. About a year ago I switched pills from Loestrin 24 fe to Lo Loestrin 24 fe. Within the year I think I've had 2 periods (only lasting a day or so) and a few days of very light spotting. I do know this pill is the lowest dose of hormones you can have with a birth control pill. Is this normal?

Hi. I used to take Loestrin 24. I had the real kind. But my period started early also. When I stopped taking them my period was very late (by 2 months). All of this is because your body has to adjust to the hormones in the pill.

Din mean to post yet but low dose of estrogen nd progesterin sry for spelling. i have my alarm set on ny phone to remind me daily so i dnt miss it. So far it has good effects just waiting for a period which doc said will b very light. I. did read bad reviews but what don't have bad reviews now a days everyone is different. But my doc said make sure i tare it daily since it does have the lowest dose its very easy to get pregnant if i skip days.

I've not had any problems with Yaz or Loestrin 24. I'm on Loestrin right now because Yaz made me pretty low emotionally. However, I think because they are so low dose pills, they shouldn't cause such a problem. I've heard bad thinkgs about Seasonal/ique, though. I dunno. I take Loestrin continiously and haven't had an issue, I don't see why you would bother with a pill specifically marketed as "less periods" when you can have them with any.

t sure if it was the estrogen or the progestin in the pill that was causing this so in a few months she may put me on some form of birth control that is not a combination pill. Not sure, but it is good to know that the higher estrogen pills seemed to have less of a tearing side effect for you. Hi, I have been searching the internet and there is absolutely no information on switching from higher doses of estrogen to a lower dose. My doctor is didn't mention anything about how to switch, and is now out of town. Background: I have been taking a combination birth control pill for about 5 years now. I am absolutely religious about taking it at the exact time each day down to the minute.

But it does have the lowest dose of estrogen n progestrin in it so you could become pregnant like instantly if u miss a dose. My doc says it will make my periods very light n only like 3days long give me sex drive n many other perks. Good luck on whatever you choose!!

Ok, my obgyn put me on Loestrin 24 to help alleviate my severe cramps, which has worked. I have been on Loestrin since December of 2007. Even now, my periods are completely sporatic, and unpredictable. I averaged(since I started the pills) 1-2 periods a month, but they were and still are very light. But in October, I had three periods, no crapms, and all three periods consisted of a vinegary smelling dark brown blood. I even tried using a ******, and I wash down there every time I shower.

I voted yes. Before trying for a baby I was on Loestrin 24 for 7 years. And one time I was on antibiotics and didn't think about back up protection and got pregnant. It ended in a miscarriage, but not from being on the pill. Loestrin 24 worked great for me, minus that whoops. It was my own fault and not that of the pill. And after I have this baby I will go back on it.
