Avatar n tn I am not sure how I can get a second opinion? I am not sure how long is to long for a follow up after the hospital??
Avatar n tn I can move all parts of my body but when I bend I am so afraid i will have another dizzy spell and have another stroke. How long will I feel this way? Also can extreme stress bring about a stroke since i had no history of high blood pressure or high cholesterol.
Avatar f tn as I'm aware of even small ischemia are detectable in ct/mri scan. how long did the symptoms last? strokes don't last very long they either regress or kill you. there should have been more going on, paralysis of the face, bell's palsy maybe. weakness in one arm or whole side of the body. a stroke that impairs your speech wouldn't have been so "mini".
1038794 tn?1252925252 Yes, I was surprised the diagnosis was Meniere's because it goes in episodes not a 24/7 deal; the episodes can last up to 24 hours though. Were you given vestibular testing and hearing tests while at the hospital? Or, was the diagnosis just based on symptoms? Are you taking Betahistine 3x/day? Is your BP better/under control? The elevated blood pressure readings you were having are concerning. If this is Meniere's, stay away from lots of salt and the caffeine.

378112 tn?1199897215 Being hypo can make you feel like you're in a constant brain fog, among a million other things...it's rough and incredibly common. I'd recommend getting some basic thyroid bloodwork done just to rule this out (if this hasn't already been included with the recent bloodwork you mentioned). I can't say I've heard of hypothyroidism causing such severe neurological symptoms, but hey, you never know. Did your neurologist do any kind of spinal scan?
Avatar f tn I don't know how long these espsodes last beacuse I don't know when they start ... only when they end. The doctor did an MRI and saw nothing. He did say there was one small spot that could be a thicking of a (vessel/vein) but he didn't think it was anything to cause the episodes. I also had an EEG that looked okay.
Avatar n tn And did you have residual dizziness, headache, and eye ache after your stroke, and if so how long did it last? My stroke doctor said these things should go away after 6 weeks, but I am over 10 and still feel significantly yucky. Any feedback would be appreciated.
Avatar n tn My brother just had a stroke been sleeping for 2ths now..has not opened his eye since the stroke..ventilator and feeding tube..he follow command something..
532476 tn?1214520784 Any ideas on how I can convey to my management that these problems exist? Also how long will the stent last? I was told to come back if I had any symptoms. What symptons should I be looking for?
Avatar f tn HAS ANYONE HAD ANYONE WITH A BLEED WITH 100 CC OF BLOOD IN THE LEFT SIDE OF THE BRAIN... My dad just had a stroke a month a go.. and still is not wakin up much.... can anyone help.....
Avatar m tn In case anyone else has this problem, I want my experience to be available to them. There was very little to read on the DURATION of initial phenobarbital side effects on the web, and I was very frightened by what I saw. So, here's what happened with my dog. The side effects (which were severe) lasted approximately three weeks. It is possible that they can last this long. Most people say they go away in a day or two, but in very sensitive dogs, it takes much longer.
Avatar n tn Can someone answer this. How long does hydrocodine show up in your system for a drug test. I take this drug for the pain I get with Lymes Disease. I'm starting a new job and they will ask for a drug test. How soon do I need to get off of them so it don't show up on my test. Thanks.
Avatar n tn I had a stroke at the age of 8 and I had a siezure just last year at 21. My doctor said it was because of the scar tissue. I am a student becoming a physical therapist asistant, and I learned that anyone who has had some injury to the brain (concussion, tramatic brain injury etc) is at risk of having a siezure. Anyways I was put on Keppra because on my mri & mra it showed that they were lining up. I haven't had a siezure since then but it was definitely scary. I hope this helps.
Avatar f tn Hi Udkas--it must be very frustrating to not know whether your neuro symptoms are caused by migraine, stroke, or MS, because they can mimic each other. What do you do in a situation like that? Hard to know. I've been discussing my theory with my (good new) PCP that my longtime dizziness is migraine-related. He does not seem convinced (but then neither am I--but still I can't stop wondering). Have you tried seeing a neurologist specializing in migraine?
Avatar n tn I cannot remember how long it was after the PT and my stroke, but no more than 2-3 days. Either way, I had a stroke in my cerebellum, my angiogram showed that the artery looked like it might have been torn, and it was speculated by them that the artery had dissected.
Avatar f tn I've been having PVC's, severe at times, off and on for almost 50 yrs and never had a stroke nor has a cardiologist ever told me that PVC's can cause a stroke. I've always been told, after all the tests "they are benign, ignore them". I finally learned to ignore them, and not worry about them anymore. Not to say that I look forward having them. Anything coming from the heart is not easy to "just ignore". Trust what your doctor/cardiologist tells you.
Avatar n tn She has no quality of life. The insurance stopped paying anything a month after her stroke. How long can someone live in this shape?
Avatar n tn how long after ur stroke could u move agin I had a stroke age 24 an it was only 8mths ago but I still cant move my toes or ankle at all
Avatar n tn JQ, getting pregnant after a stroke can be a little dangerous. if you are on blood thinning medicine right now such like coumadin or aspirin, you have to be sure that you know exactly when you are pregnant, because blood thinners can be very bad for a developing fetus. another thing is your blood pressure when in labor, you have to make sure to keep it normal, that is very important.
Avatar n tn How long ago did she have her stroke? How did you get her to start talking? How long did that take? How is her cognition? Thank you.

Avatar n tn I admire all of you and your courage to have children with having a stroke as I am sure it is a hard decision to make that could and can change your life for better or worse.
Avatar n tn Thank you for your hope and encouragement. Can I ask you if they considered the stroke massive and how long it took for you to see any changes of improvement. I know that each case is very different with stroke patients. It just feels good to hear when the doctors are repeatedly proven wrong. I feel that my father is fighting for me so that I can stay strong. I am very close to my father and short of a miracle, things don''t look well.
1570981 tn?1295834955 A mild panic attack lasts about five minutes, however there are no after effects. A full-blown panic attack can have multiple mini aftershocks, a lot like an earthquake. For myself, shopping is a good example of this. I have the initial attack, and throughout the shopping trip may have another two mild attacks followed by even milder anxiety until I'm out of the situation. If the exposure increases even more (ie.
Avatar f tn Thanks for your comments. My husband has the same family doctor that I have recently started seeing. That is the doctor who originally sent me to be screened for ms. Yesterday my husband had a doctor appt. and the doctor asked how I was doing. My husband told him the neuro said the lesions on my mri was probably due to aging. My family doctor said he was suprised by that because lesions usually do not appear in a person of my age (49).
Avatar f tn Probably one of my most life changing symptoms is the fact of not being able to handle crowded areas such as a store like a WalMart or a Auction house during a auction any place with a lot of people and a lot of visual and audio information coming in.
Avatar n tn At 39 I was diagnosed with a TIA/mini-stroke. Initial Sympton: White light covered my sight and I started to mumble and unable to formulate words/or communicate with my co-workers. I went home "slept it off" and the next day returned to the office however, I couldn't put my thoughts together while crafting emails and went to the emergency room (Navy Medical Portsmouth, Va). A highly respected neurologist, after many many tests...
Avatar n tn One approach is your doctors' approach of trying aspirin, and as long as you do not have a recurrence of stroke or mini-stroke, to just leave you on the aspirin. If you do have a recurrence, the next step would be to add another blood thinner in addition to aspirin. This is a sensible, common sense approach that has been used for many years. The only problem with this is that if the next stroke is a large one, it could leave you with significant disability, or worse.
Avatar n tn By now you would show a + on all HPT's. A blood test can detect a pregnancy as early as 6 days post ovulation and the average for early detection HPT's is 10 days post ovulation.
