1474856 tn?1288289049 Transient Ischemic Attack Symptoms can include: numbness or weakness in the face, arm, or leg, especially on one side of the body; confusion or difficulty in talking or understanding speech; trouble seeing in one or both eyes; and difficulty with walking, dizziness, or loss of balance and coordination. I have this all the time, but the Dr's just keep saying it is just migraine.

Avatar n tn My 86 year old mother just came out of the hospital on Friday after being in for ten days due to a "mini-stroke" (TIA). It was the fifth one she has had since suffering a major stroke in 2007. Tonight she started bleeding; not heavy but enough to saturate her Depends underwear. I have noticed some very light spotting in the past, but only about once a month. The cause of this is puzzling me. I guess the doctor needs to be seen. Any advice?
Avatar n tn s (mini strokes) happen to people of all ages. A TIA is generally a warning of a full blown stroke waiting to happen (not not always). So get her thorough checked out & do all you can to make sure she atttends to the causative factors. I was 45 when I had my stroke just over a year ago. I wouldn't wish it in my worst enemy, let alone a lovely young girl. So get it checked, please.

Avatar f tn hi I'm in a bit of a state. this is saturday and on tuesday i was in bed with my lab top. i was feeling a bit strange when suddenly my hand and arm went nimb. at the same time mt boyfriend walked in and i felt wierd as i looked at him. i said my arm is numb and as i got out of bed my face also went numb. side of my nose and cheek and lip. i said to him clearly "god my face is numb" and then i panicked a bit and had to lire down.
Avatar n tn You know, migraines do up the risk of stroke a bit, especially in young women taking birth control pills --- it may be,unfortunately, just several circumstances (including the PFO, perhaps) that all came together to produce the stroke. Hopefully, it will never happen again! Good luck.
Avatar n tn t know why I had a stroke in the first place. Both of my corotid arteries are occluded. I went through 4-6 weeks of instense therapy (OT, PT, and speech) all of this with a newborn!!! It takes some time to get back to "normal," but you seem to be on the right track. It took me a while to see a therapist to unload all of the post traumatic stress.
667937 tn?1227758698 GO TO YOUR DOCTOR !!!!! HE IS THE ONLY ONE WHO CAN TELL YOU WHAT IS WHAT ??? AND NO ONE IS TOO YOUNG OR TOO OLD TO GET A STROKE OR SOMETHING .....
1126464 tn?1300799701 We would that young women would cultivate the strictest regard for truth in all things; in small as well as in important matters. Exaggeration or false coloring is as much a violation of integrity as a direct falsehood. Equivocation is often falsehood. Deception in all forms is opposed to integrity. Mock manners, pretended emotions, affectation, policy plans to secure attention and respect are all sheer falsehoods, and in the end injure her who is guilty of them.
Avatar f tn spinal tap, myelogram, ct scan, mini stroke TIA
Avatar m tn Did your dad recently experience a stroke or T.I.A. (mini-stroke)? From what I find online, hypodensity on a CT scan in a patient who has had a stroke is bad news.... this is something you and your dad (if he is able) need to discuss with his physician. In patients who've had a minor stroke or a transient ischemic attack (mini-stroke), hypodensity in the white matter of the brain means extra risk of the potential for a future stroke. (See PM) I have a parent who suffered from a T.I.A.

Physical activity isnt doing it any more. Interupts my sleep like you dont even know...Ill be so dayum tired, but my leg aches so bad.
Avatar f tn t think a thing about it until I told my husband last night and he said it might have been a mini stroke. My mother (deceased) had experienced these in the past and she had severe heart problems that the doctors said may have caused the strokes. I looked up the symptoms, but I only really had numbness in my face and a slight pain over my eye. Could this have been a mini stroke? Should I see a doctor now even though I have no symptoms? Thank you.
Avatar m tn I am 78 and had a mini stroke 11 Jun 2014. I was placed in the hospital for overnight observation and was released the following day to my family doctor. I have high blood pressure so he placed me on Exforge 10-325-25mg HCT and also Clopidogrel 75mg In the hospital I had a MRA, MRI, CATSCAN, Chest Xray and several blood tests. I lost peripheral vision in the left eye. When I left the hospital I had this slight lump across from my left ear about 1 inch long pointing to the top of my head.
Avatar f tn Although a stroke can manifest as a transient visual disturbance, that is relatively unusual. But something is going on, and you best have it checked out. Anything having to do with vision is VERY important. You cannot be turned down for medical assistance in the event of possible blindness because of financial reasons. If it happens? Good! Take them to court! (Just make sure that you sue for the cost of a chauffer).
Avatar f tn Hi, it’s unlikely its stroke. It could be a bad dream. And everybody has these occasional stressful dreams. But if they occur repeatedly or are interfering with your sleep schedules, you can consult a sleep specialist. It could be a nightmare disorder. This can be assessed by a sleep questionnaire and therapy is based on the severity of symptoms. Best Regards.
Avatar m tn My question is, does that sound like a mini-stroke to you? If so, what is the possibility of a major stroke. Thank You.
Avatar m tn Could it be a stroke? Those are the symptoms as far as I am aware? You should see the doctor to be safe.
Avatar n tn Just heard from my father in-law Dr. says no mini stroke. All is associated with withdrawal to percocet. Sure wish this drug was never created............I thought my husband's stroke took him away, but these drugs have been much more difficult to handle. By my own choice I quit my job because I was always having to leave and I was stressing too......much. Just had a call from my father in-law. The ER doctor gave my husband zanax (?) don't have a clue. Tough times ahead I think.
