Avatar n tn I am an asthmatic that uses a steriod inhaler called Albuterol. There are times that when I have had to use my inhaler more often that I have developed Thrush. I notice today that infact I have it again. Tale tale signs creamy patchy regions and pretty sore. Usually I call my doctor and he prescribes Nystatin however I also have a skin rash that was diangnosed as bacterial in nature and was prescribed Erythromycin. I have not started the treatment yet. Will the Erythromycin work for my thrush?
678431 tn?1227554311 I use Albuterol Inhalers for my asthma and I've been recently having some trouble with 'em. My mom and I share the same dosages, which I find really weird since I just merely have asthma and she has emphysema as well. But, I've brought that to the attention of m doctor but she still said I needed the same dosage. Plus, it makes me really jittery and shaky.
1315759 tn?1274044788 my asthma is not under control, at work it always bothers me. i am on the albuterol pump plus the breathing machine, which both does no good. what other inahlers can i use? or the breathing treatments? at the hospital, they give me xopenex, which works ok, not really good for me. the last time i went to the hospital, the therapist gave me atrovent and xopenex, with 4 doses in one. i told them it was making me too jittery, way more than normal and nobody listened.
Avatar f tn I was then given Advair Diskus 250/50, after 2 1/2 months called the doctor because of using emergency inhaler Albuterol Sulfate 90mgc min 10 times a day. Albuterol created a vocal cord problem. Now been put on Flovent Diskus 100mgc and continue the Albuterol. Question, do the Flovent and Advair have the fluticasone propionate ingredient in common? Tonight will be my 1st use of the Flovent. Concerned that I may have a mitral valve problem plus the emphysema.
Avatar m tn During that time he got an ear infection, now it has recovered, but during one of the doctors said he should start using albuterol for his cough if it contiues, that he had during his ear infection. His ear infection has gone away, but his cough hasn't! Should I use albuterol or some other medicine, or am I able to treat it without using any drugs. I also gave him claritin to see if it was caused by allergies but that did not work. Help would be appreciated! Thank you!
Avatar n tn I have emphysema. i use advair twice a day and spiriva one a day. The biggest problem for me is that I always seem to havemucus build up in the mornings. My doctor has told me to try mucinex, but that doesn't seem to work all the time. So i try using albuterol in the morning to help loosen up the mucus so that I can breath better.

435139 tn?1255460391 Hello Ladies! I'm in my 2ww I should have AF or a BFP by this weekend...keeping my fingers crossed for the BFP! Well, when I am in my 2ww I give up caffeine, don't use any bugsprays, medications (like tylenol or allergy medicine...) BUT I am asthmatic and have been wheezing, having the tight chest...one step away from an asthma attack.
757137 tn?1347196453 This is used as an alternative to Albuterol if the side effects are severe with Albuterol. This could also be used in conjunction with Albuterol, to relieve acute flare ups of Asthma. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
1754037 tn?1327886811 I am 18 weeks and have asthma, I have had it my whole life, I am one of those who was born with it and didn't grow out of it. I take my albuterol inhaler a couple times a day. My OB/GYN also put me on flovent cause the steriod I was on before I was pregnant hadn't been tested on pregnant women and she wanted to be safe. My OB said that is safe to use both the albuterol and my flovent, especially because it causes more damage when you deprive the baby of oxygen.
1754037 tn?1327886811 Thank you ALL for the replies :) I appreciate it ALOT. I wish I remembered that other one he was going to prescribe to me but I go back in a month to see how often I'm needing my albuterol. All I know is he said it's a steroid form I'd inhale once a day! I also heard from sum1 that there baby had a birth defect & she thinks it's cause of her inhaler she was taking thru out pregnancy but this was like 15yrs ago! I'm sure lots of things have changed.
Avatar n tn I gave a lot of thought before posting again, because I am sure you are the greastest mom and would never want to endanger your children. This post IS NOT a criticism, or an attempt to make you feel badly. Albuterol is a "last ditch" emergency medication. When you reach for the albuterol you are "reaching for lung reserve". Once that albuterol is ingested, the lung has no more reserve.
Avatar n tn It is VERY expensive, but the 12mcg packets work almost immediately and are more effective than the albuterol sulfate. The Foradil will last for a long time. It will save you a hospital bill on a bad day. The albuterol suflate is short-acting. The steroidal inhalers do NOT work immediately.
Avatar n tn hi, my question is can we mix albuterol, ipratropium, pulmacort together and the order is give these medication together by nebulizer.
Avatar n tn I know that part of the chest issue is not smoking and my lungs are healing. How serious is this? Could it be COPD? What does the asmanex do? How often can I safely use the albuterol? Will this get better over time? How in the heck can I afford this medicine with no insurance? I am scared to death of not being able to breathe. I have more horses to trim this week and I don't know if I should wait another week for my lungs to heal a little more? Any advice would be great. Thanks!
Avatar m tn I was diagnosed with an exercise induced asthma and prescribed a 90 mcg albuterol inhaler. I didn't use it much as I was fine most of the time. But just recently I have been having to use my inhaler every few hours or so because if I don't I get really short breathed. I don't know what's going on and it's worrying me.
Avatar f tn No where does the company mention any of these side effects for albuterol. Being a healthcare professional i was already thinking the worst. If you get this message please respond. I need to know these tics will go away. I am very much into homepathic treatment at home so i have started giving her extra calcium magnesium and b vitamins. It definetely subsides but takes a week or so to fully go away.
Avatar f tn so i guess that isnt normal? Of course, im going to check with my dr a.s.a.p, but for now does anyone have any helpful input? Maybe my body needs time to adjust to the med? i dont know what's going on!
Avatar f tn I am concern due to her age. Any advice is much appreciated. Thanks.
Avatar n tn recently diagnosed with COPD/emphysema. hospitalized three times: finally determined that i'm allergic to sulfate based albuterol, combivent, all of the usual "suspects." i'm now on advair (one week= 115 ) and doing okay - except the only rescue inhaler i can tolerate is primotene mist. just took an oximeter test - came out 86-87. i think it's too soon to go on oxygen, until we see if advair works. but i worry about the advair too.
Avatar f tn I have been using albuterol inhalers for 18 years now, since being diagnosed with asthma. Since they changed the inhalers recently to no CFC's (yes, I care about the environment, but...) can they come up with a decent inhaler that doesn't clog up at the tip? I have to take out the cannister of my Proventil and put it in the holder for another inhaler. Makes me mad since I do not have insurance and it is a $54 inhaler.
Avatar f tn I run for my college and its hard for me to decide do i want to go blind or do i want not to be able to breath. does anyone know any meds i can take that doesnt have steroids in them?
Avatar m tn Another common treatment for lung infections is an albuterol nebulizer treatment and using a albuterol inhaler for a few days at home. This opens up the airways and helps make it easier for the person to cough up mucus. Also, did she have a chest x-ray? This is important diagnostic test to see what kind of infection she has. Hope she feels better soon.
Avatar n tn However, you are the one that has to put up with the reaction to the albuterol if it is needed. Does your dr have a clear understanding of your reactions to albuterol. She also suggested vocal cord dysfunction (VCD). That is a spasm of the vocal cords and can only be diagnosed by an ENT doing an endoscope exam. The problem with the exam is that unless your vocal cords spasm during the exam so that the dr can see the spasm, the test will be negative. It is a good posibility though.
