746512 tn?1388807580 Your doctor should have prescribed ipratropium bromide. Use the albuterol to open the airway, and three minutes later use the ipratopium bromide (Atrovent). Use the albuterol only when your symptoms come up, because the airways can become less responsive when this medication is over-used, and you want it when you need it. And follow the instructions, of have someone in an asthma clinic review them with you.
Avatar f tn Now im looking online and see its a class C! Im nervous I may have done harm to baby. Anyone else use albuterol while pregnant first trimester?
Avatar m tn As you are now having to use your Albuterol every few hours, you do need to make an appointment to see the doctor and have a lung function test done to determine if the asthma has not got worse. Sometimes there are triggers that make the asthma worse, like when it is cold or too hot, smoky atmospheres and doing more strenuous exercise, stress, getting a viral or bacterial infection, allergies to house dust mite, feathers and other things.
Avatar n tn Wow as I read your post I had shivers go down my spine. Marry me but only if I can have my Coke? Sweetie you need to run as fast as you possibly can and now!! Listen I understand that you love this man and I'm sure you want to believe that your love can heal him or make him change but it WON'T happen. I'm a drug addict and let me explain how this works. When I was using I would do whatever it took in order to get my drug.
Avatar f tn Just wondering if anyone here uses an albuterol inhaler and are they safe to use during pregnancy? I use one every now and then but not on a daily basis. I'm only 5 weeks along. I used mine tonight because I felt like I absolutely had to.

1754037 tn?1327886811 Everyone says they know someone who knows someone that something bad happened to :P. As my OB said if you can't breath your baby can't breath. I used albuterol inhale and singular to control my asthma both deemed safe. My daughter has no defects she is perfectly healthy 7.
Avatar m tn s marijuana use is not deemed excessive and does not interfere with daily function, subject must be instructed to discontinue any current use of recreational marijuana prior to entry into study and throughout the study period
Avatar f tn Thank you Sunshine... do you use it like you did prior to pregnancy? I used to use it every four hours when I was wheezing like this...
Avatar n tn My opinion is that the wrestling career has to come to an end and it is irresponsible to use an albuterol enhaler before the matches. The coach who knows about this should be suspended from coaching. Asthma is life-threatening. If a doctor recommended this protocol his actions are irresponsible. Your son could have an attack that could end up in his death and I am certain there is not an ALS crew at the match with someone certfied in endotracheal intubation. That being said, take heart.
587778 tn?1261397118 Are you sure she had a reaction to albuterol? I can easily see the steroid as the culprit, but albuterol surprises me. Of course, if you overuse it you will get a fast heart beat, but in moderate amounts it is usually OK. I use it and I also take an antihistamine.
886699 tn?1270779744 Gain of function (positive) symptoms include tingling, pain, itching, crawling, and pins and needles. Pain can become intense enough to require use of opioid (narcotic) drugs (i.e., morphine, oxycodone). Skin can become so hypersensitive that patients are prohibited from having anything touch certain parts of their body, especially the feet. People with this degree of sensitivity cannot have a bedsheet touch their feet or wear socks or shoes, and eventually become housebound.
Avatar f tn Ok, I stand corrected. Albuterol is called albuterol outside the US.
Avatar n tn I was told by my doc that Combivent just has an additional allergy medicine in it, in addition to the albuterol. It shouldn't hurt you, I wouldn't think. I have allergies also and this inhaler worked great for me.
435139 tn?1255460391 I've had asthma through all my pregnancies and have used my albuterol inhaler during all of them. Only necessary a few times during the beginning but towards the end with it being harder to breath becuase of pressure on the lungs I've had to use it more...I haven't had any problems come from the use of my albuterol. It may be cat. C however the benefits outweigh the risks.
Avatar f tn I wrote in to this website when my son was 4 years old and started with transient motor tics, right after having two back-to-back illnesses (with a high temperature) and also after being treated with albuterol for severe asthma. His tics have not been as bad as they were the first time he started having them, but are still present at times. He is also growing out of asthma.
Avatar n tn recently diagnosed with COPD/emphysema. hospitalized three times: finally determined that i'm allergic to sulfate based albuterol, combivent, all of the usual "suspects." i'm now on advair (one week= 115 ) and doing okay - except the only rescue inhaler i can tolerate is primotene mist. just took an oximeter test - came out 86-87. i think it's too soon to go on oxygen, until we see if advair works. but i worry about the advair too.
1754037 tn?1327886811 t been tested on pregnant women and she wanted to be safe. My OB said that is safe to use both the albuterol and my flovent, especially because it causes more damage when you deprive the baby of oxygen. If I were you I would talk to your OB if your asthma gets worse or the albuterol isn't working well enough. My OB also told me that albuterol doesn't harm the baby all it does is help me breath. Sorry this was so long. I hope this helps you. How far along are you?
Avatar f tn Hi, Asthma cannot worsen angina but over use of inhaler albuterol can lead to low potassium levels in the blood, which in turn can cause palpitations, arrhythmias, irregular beats etc. So if you are experiencing frequent attacks of asthma, you should try to prevent triggering agents which cause asthma and also get evaluated by a pulmonologist for correction of dose of polemicist for preventing further attacks of asthma. Hope this helps. Best.
Avatar f tn My physician has prescribed both Advair 50/250 and Spiriva, along with Pro Air p4-6h prn and nebulizer treatment (Albuterol) q4-6h prn. I am still having problems breathing. Is it okay to take these all at the same time? Will there be any side effects?
Avatar n tn P.S. Albuterol, if you are using it, is drying. That is another reason for using a mucolytic. I use an albuterol combination in a nebulizer. I can't do without it, but the B5 reverses the drying.
Avatar f tn d be surprised how few people use their inhalers properly), you could be taking in a big breathe and because of the narrowing from the asthma attack, the air is trapped and becomes uncomfortable.
