t be so sure your kids are safe. There a different types of hoarders. It could be alot of simple junk or it can be dirty decomposition of food and animals. How can you be sure? I would put my foot down and say simple. If you child are to be allowed over then I need to see the home for myself. End of story.
Was watching one of those sort of horridly-fascinating shows last night on TV that is about hoarders, except this one is about pet hoarders. They visited a couple's house who had 24 cats. The vet who was talking to the couple and she went into the room where the catboxes were, and commented on the smell, and she had handheld meter that she set down on the floor. It measured ammonia in the air.
I know exactly how you feel. The only rooms that aren't messy at my place are the bathrooms & the babys room lol! I work full time & when i get home I'm like why bother?.. Hopefully i get a day or two cleaning spurt & get it done!
Is my problem with not being able to get rid of things I don't need or use part of OCD?
I moved into his house after helping my mother out for a couple of years. His house looked like something out of a hoarders episode. The filth and clutter was so overwhelming that the first day I spent cleaning I ended up with Bronchitis and Pharyngitis from the damp and mold since he did not properly heat the house. After 2 months we finally made it inhabitible, but not clean by any means.
To this day the majority of my belongings reside in my mother's house.
It depends. First is your alpha accepting of guests in the home? Is she comfortable with commotion? How is she when she sees you in pain? For instance... if she isn't all that comfortable with strangers in the home I would err on the side of caution. If she handles stress and commotion badly, again err on the side of caution. If she doesn't react well to seeing or hearing you in pain... definitely keep her outside or at least in another room. With all that said.
I have drastically slowed down my television viewing of these types of shows, especially at night. This has greatly decreased these thoughts and fears I associated with these shows.
If you can pinpoint the triggers that cause your fears... start there.
Sometimes, if the fear is, as you say, "irrational," and I know how irrational it sounds, I will tell myself just that. I have learned how to self-talk myself out of panic, or at least calm it down.
Hi there, we recently went and got an MRI done as well as a CA-125 test. I found out that the Gynecologist didn't even review the images, apparently that's done by a radiologist. Anyways the doctor said it "looks" like endometriomas or "chocolate cysts". We're looking for someone else that knows how to read the MRI images and can give us another opinion. I'm hoping we could find a doctor or radiologist that would be willing to review them for us.
