So.... my husband's parents are hoarders and I've never been to their house but our daughter has. She's 3 years old. We have a little boy on the way and I just don't know if I want my kids going over there especially if I'm not allowed to.. Idk how bad the situation is and I know my husband is embarrassed. I've never talked to my in laws about it. They make me uncomfortable as is. I have been distant from them for the last couple months.
Was watching one of those sort of horridly-fascinating shows last night on TV that is about hoarders, except this one is about pet hoarders. They visited a couple's house who had 24 cats. The vet who was talking to the couple and she went into the room where the catboxes were, and commented on the smell, and she had handheld meter that she set down on the floor. It measured ammonia in the air.
I know exactly how you feel. The only rooms that aren't messy at my place are the bathrooms & the babys room lol! I work full time & when i get home I'm like why bother?.. Hopefully i get a day or two cleaning spurt & get it done!
It may be just the hormones, because when i was pregnant with #3 i could not stand my son, God knows i love him with all my heart and will give my life for him, but i just wanted to stuff his mouth and not hear him, or see him, i felt horrible, i still do sometimes but soon after my mamy was birn everything went back to normal, i really hope it gets better between you and your in laws =)
But me I would just go to a family members and stay there for a bit. Hoarders have a weird attachment to their items.
No groups have been suggested to me or offered. I feel out in left field all alone. Are there any hoarders in this company, and what are they doing to deal with it?
Anyone ever let their dog (we have 5, so namely the Alpha) hang out inside your house during the birth? I am only 20+6 but I'm thinking ahead. I wonder if letting my alpha female hang out inside will help the other dogsbe okay with baby... You know? Since how she feels kind of determines how the others feel/react.
We have 3 indoor dogs, and 2 outdoor dogs (dont worry, we have acreage, we're not just dog hoarders... Lol people just dump em out here and three are rescues...
Holy cow of course this relationship doesn't feel good. That feeling is your inner voice telling you to leave--so listen! A hoarder experiences a great amount of anxiety when faced with the decision to throw something away. They are usually very sentimental persons, and like to keep everything to hold on the memory. Persons who are slobs are just plain lazy and can't be bothered to clean up or throw anything out. Although I think that a lot of hoarders are slobs in some ways as well.
They put the 17 month old down for a nap without changing his diaper. And they wondered why he peed through the diaper and all over his pants?! He then turned on the garbage disposal! I get yelled at for saying his name sternly when he goes flying towards the stairs which have no gate. At a different time he grabbed a knife by the blade! Why was a knife in the living room to begin with?! They rough house with him and laugh when he falls.
Baby takes precedent! And I totally understand why you did it! Hopefully when he calms down he'll understand. I have the opposite problem, my SO is so keen to get baby's stuff organised, he would empty the house if I let him. Can you go through it together? And then he gets a say in what to keep. And you get to keep your feet up while he does the lifting. Surely he realised that some of it would have to go? And stress is no good.
They had run a large amount of tests to see if they could determine why he fell and found elevated liver enzymes as well as other signs of liver failure. He was admitted to a physical rehab facility and while there, we started to see alarming signs. Forgetfulness, confusion, his abdomen was distended, spots that look like bruises on his arms. I asked the doctors there for them to book an appointment with GI.
If i may ask why would they hurt your baby in any way?? Are you with the father?? If your thinking of adoption think what is your real reason and by that i mean are you really doing t for the baby or becuz u are scared??
