Common Questions and Answers about Health insurance after divorce

Avatar f tn My husband holds the insurance and earns the $$. Has any one faced this situation. How will I cover my medical expenses. My copaxone. I don't know what to do.
Avatar n tn Since your insurance is like that. My thoughts would be take the test the day after your shot and don't get a real sensitive pcr test. Plus check in to commitment to care for free meds and same as for procrit. Don't know how high your income is, but they consider family members in your house. Plus they have high incomes limits. Just my thinking so you know what thats worth.
Avatar f tn I am still on my ex husband's health insurance since we never told them we divorced- 4/2010. I missed the COBRA sign up period and now unsure what to do . I need to get my own plan but the new plan asks about previous/existing coverage and I am afraid of legal consequences since we never informed the employer about the divorce. Any thoughts? Can I get new plan, then drop old plan without the divorce being mentioned?
Avatar n tn I Does anyone know what I am going through? how do you make it after divorce, when do you know it is time to leave. If anyone is a lawyer do you know about prenups.
Avatar m tn He will have to pay you child support and possibly alimony, it depends on the laws for your state as far as alimony goes. He will also have to carry health insurance for your son. Find an attorney that offers free consultations and learn what your rights are. I wish you all the best and take care.
Avatar f tn boosty, I guess I'm not clear about what happened here - when you say you sat down and talked it all out, does that mean you've decided not to get a divorce after all and completely changed your perspective? Sorry to be dense today.
167203 tn?1280695680 Prozac comes as a cheap generic (fluoxetine) and is supposedly the easiest to get off of after tx. Good luck with the divorce. If you're custodial parent make sure you get good support/insurance from him.
1354136 tn?1331878917 he's nuts and i'm in the process of leaving, i guess i wanted to know is there anywhere or any websites available that can list some phone numbers or how you get help if you don't have health insurance? i really need to speak to a professional i'm struggling big time. thank you for your time.
172023 tn?1334675884 It's been a long time coming. I won't say anything about the cause of our divorce, but would caution married men who cheat to be careful not to bang some needy chick who will call you cellphone every 5 minutes, hence making your wife curious. And sure you put a passcode on your phone if you are banging said needy chick, so your curious wife can't see all the moronic text messages your empty headed bimbo leaves you constantly. Just sayin'. more Mr. Peek.
1348086 tn?1370786785 You can always post a question on the divorce and break ups community and get some 'ideas' and advice knowing that they come from members and not experts.
173975 tn?1216261375 Hi all. I almost feel guilty about posting this after reading fishdoc's post and hearing about his problems. But I wanted to share the news that I was approved today for long term disability through my job sponsored company. (Approved, of course, by dint of the $20-30 G I paid into the plan. They're not giving ANYTHING away). That takes such a huge financial load off my mind.
599170 tn?1300977493 We do not provide insurance as it is very small and we could not afford to do so. If forced to carry health care insurance for the employees------- we would probably go down to 2 employees or completely out of business. Wish the business did well enough to provide full benefits to people but for now all we can do is provide an income.
Avatar f tn Ann Wooten of Austin, Texas, a breast cancer survivor, said she didn't understand whether the health insurance overhaul law meant that she should try to access private coverage again someday. She was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2008 after she lost her insurance in a divorce, and soon after she lost her job at a convenience store as a result of the economic crisis. Medicaid has covered her treatments but she must apply regularly to renew the coverage.
Avatar f tn I know many women have asked this question before, so I wanted to post a journal entry about getting my period after D&C. I had to get a D&C on April 2, 2008 after finding out that my pregnancy was non-viable/missed abortion. My doctor told me I should start my cycle within 4-6 weeks after the D&C, and I started my period yesterday, May 4, 2008. I thought it would be a light cycle following the D&C, but it actually seems to be heavier than normal.
Avatar f tn Its been 4 months and I am still not well-at all. I have dizzeness, severe headaches and pain, and always feel like im under water or in a fog. Oh ya I stammer a lot and have memory loss and am so very tired and just wiped out. Sometimes I dont see things right. When will this all end? Can someone tell me what kind of meds works best for the pain in the head. I tried Vicodin but got tired of being nausea, Then I was on Butalbital and that was worse-didnt help the pain.
Avatar n tn Hello, I was wondering if any of you all have been put on hormones after a total hysterectomy. My doctor says there are too many risks and I don't need them...I am 38. I don't know what to expect here 2 weeks after surgery, I keep waiting for a hotflash or something weird to happen. :) What can happen if I don't take them? I've had nightmares of growing hair on my face or my voice getting manly. Are my fears real? Can anyone share their experience or knowledge about hormones?
Avatar n tn Last year I had an ablation of the lining of my uterus. The dr. told me that I could'nt get pregnant. Over a year later, I am pregnant and scared to death. I have been reading up on ablation, and have came across nothing but "you should'nt get pregnant after an alation, because it's high risk for the mother and baby". I do not know how far along I am, but I believe about 4 mths already. I go to the dr.
Avatar n tn I then had an ablation at 25 due to uncontrollable periods and anemia. After a terrible divorce in 2005, I met the most wonderful man in the world and am now happily engaged. I honestly never thought I would want to have another child but here I am, crying at the sight of every pregnant woman and wishing to become pregnant. My soon to be husband has also expressed his desires to have another child.
Avatar n tn Hi, I was wondering what you ever found out about your pregnancy after having your partial?? I feel i'm having the same problem. Please let me know how it is going and if you've found any answers.
Avatar n tn Pregnacy after tubal ligation Topic Area: Pregnancy - Abnormal Forum: The Maternal and Child Health Forum Question Posted By: Tamm on Sunday, April 25, 1999 Posted by Tamm on April 25, 1999 at 14:03:41 I had a tubal ligation about 13 months ago..I recently went into see my dr with abnormal symtoms in my cycle ( server cramps, heavy bleeding large clots) He informed me that I was miscarring. I had blood work done that showed a high level of pregestrone, which confirmed his diagnosis.
Avatar n tn there are other options and it's not worth the risk of all the health risk that come after. i almost died after mine because of the bleeding and then 3 days after went back because of extreme infection. DON'T DO IT! God Bless and best of Luck!
Avatar n tn I have noticed that after sex, I have a foul smell from my vagina. My husband and I were both virgins when we got married, and obviously there is no one else. I always empty my bladder and clean off after sex. The smell seems to be more noticable if we've had more sex in a short period of time. Also the smell doesn't show up until usually the next day, but lingers for a day or two! I feel like the whole world can smell it!
Avatar f tn Aside from typical pregnancy symptoms I felt somewhat normal. Shortly after giving birth to my son, my symptoms came back tenfold. I started to experience extreme pain in my back and all over weakness and fatigue. After running some basic blood work I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia and continued to have frequent UTIs. I was given narcotic pain meds and anti depression medication to help with my symptoms but nothing ever helped. This continued for a couple years.
1376910 tn?1278868323 My son was diagnosed through Children's Behavior Health June 2009 with schizoaffective DO and Bi-Polar. After 3 visits to their acute facility, he was transferred to a residential facility here in Denver CO. He has been there since Oct 2009. He is currently on Depakote, Abilify, Resperdone, tenax (for his shaking) and Mentocyclin (for his acne).
Avatar f tn I saw a specialist on the last day I had health insurance (my soon to be ex husband cut me from his insurance early before the divorce without much notice). first presented as a painful lump in my vagina last February and the student health center at my university drained it and sent me on my way...said UD was possible and to see a specialist. Since I had no problems after that, I didn't see a specialist (I know...idiot).
Avatar n tn At the time I was going through a very bad divorce and to make things 10 times worse, my parents of 26 yrs were going through a divorce as well!!!!! I just remember the day after I got a wisdom tooth pulled I just felt ok, I still had all of the same problems, I was still thinking about them but, I could function. Anyway,it all started there, I have found out since then from a very highly respected addiction specialist at the best hospital in my area, that I lack a chemical that makes us happy.
Avatar n tn I had the same problem after the removal of my gallbladder. Twenty minutes after I ate, I would run to the bathroom. This primarily happened after the FIRST meal of the day. I now take Questran (commonly used to lower cholesterol) every morning. I have to wait approximately two hours after taking the Questran before I can eat my meal without fear of experiencing the need to get to a bathroom FAST. I'm not quite sure what causes this problem.
Avatar n tn constant hospitalizations then Hospice care. Why did the onc insist on a mastectomy after her dx? She cried over this but thought it was life-saving. Months after her mast. she asked her onc if she could be cured and he said "no." Is this behavior by the medical establishment a Law, a way to keep your job, mandatory to satisfy their health insurance company or what is the motive here? Seems inhumane IMO.
Avatar f tn A couple of months ago my husband left me for another woman after 20 years of marriage to him. I am a nurse with no medical insurance. My problems.....oh, where do I begin? Currently I have a gallstone in my common bile duct, even though my gallbladder was removed in 2002. I have kidney stones in my left kidney. I have a prolapsed uterus that literally fell out and was shoved back in by a doctor in the ER, So I need a hysterectomy. Now, I am having breast changes.
Avatar n tn Sadly, after about six months, he is back to wanting a divorce and this being the no. 1 reason. YHe would go to the bar after work and then come home telling me about this particular girl, saying how big her **** were, how he tries to not look but now that I don't have them, he HAS to look at everyone else's and telling me she is a missed opportunity because he is married. Needless to say, we are back to bad and he actually has been staying with this new said girl.
