I've had pills and nuvaring. I'm in the same boat as you. I forgot pills. I'm scared the shot will make me gain weight. I'm allergic to latex so can't use the patch. My doctor won't do IUDs for personal reasons which I agree with. My coworker got the implanon and she is allergic to it and itches like crazy and she said it really hurts. I think I'll end up going back on nuvaring. I didn't gain weight.

I was on Nuvaring for 5 years...I got off a month and a half ago and the first week I gained 7 lbs. I totally freaked out! But I remained positive and continued to workout as usual and eat helathy and actually ended up dropping ten lbs.

Hey! I was on the depo shot years ago. I didn't get my period for 3 years and I really, really loved that aspect. As for the weight gain it is true but here is how it breaks down (as recently told to me by my gyno). The depo shot has a tendency to make you hungrier than usual. So, it's not arbitarily making you gain weight, it's what you put in your mouth that makes you gain weight. I didn't have any hair loss while I was on it.

Even if I sleep all night, I have trouble waking up and want to take a nap within hours of being awake. I should be losing weight now that I am off the hormones but instead I am gaining weight and my boyfriend mentioned how much I am eating the other day. PLEASE someone tell me what else these could all be besides the obvious baby diagnosis.

I have decided that I can be on bc and not want sex at all (which leads me to not have sex anyhow) or be off the bc and just be extra careful. One thing I notice after being off the nuvaring- I had developed a sense of emotionsl numbness- not in a bad way though. Nothing could upset me. I liked being very unemotional- almost disconnected (happy though). Now that I have been off the ring, I want sex again, but feel emotional.

Hey im currently going through the same thing. Im sick all the time i started the nuvaring a few months ago and I am just getting worse. Throwing up every couple of days in the morning and all day sometimes. And very very fatigued I too end up sleeping most of the day when I feel like this. Did you end up figuring out what was wrong?

OK so... on March 2nd I found out I had a miscarriage & on the 5th I had a full D&C and was told that would be the first day of my new cycle. Now although I was told not to have set before my follow up appointment I did. The day of my follow up which was March 20th, I was told everything looked good & I went back on the Nuvaring. Ever since then I've been on a major weight loss kick, but in the meantime I've been feeling nauseous.

Laura~ It's normal. I was on Nuvaring for 3 months AFTER Getting off the depo. I had been on Depo 3 yrs and gained 50 lbs! I gain weight on ANY kind of hormonal BC no matter what level of hormones are in it. I put on 15 lbs with Nuvaring. You will have some breakthru bleeding or even bleeding on wierd days for about 3 months until your body gets used to nuvaring. Don't worry about it.

I've been on Ortho-cyclen, Ortho-tri-cyclen, Ortho-tri-cyclen Lo, Nuvaring. The types I have not tried was progesterone only, shots, IUD, and implants. I decided to go off the nuvaring, which I was on only for acne. I felt incredibly better after only a week and after 2 weeks I felt like super woman. I discovered many other issues stemming from nuvaring including shortness of breath and horrible completely out of character mood swings.

LEGALLY your mother can't force you to get the shot. IT can make you gain weight, I put 50+ lbs on with it. Personally I'd suggest the Nuvaring if it's an option. I spent 3 months on it and LOVED It! The reason is Nuvaring is low dose, you won't normally put weight on with it, and it's easier than a pill and you don't have to remember it every day the same time.

Hi there, I am a 29 year old female - and about 7 months ago I stopped using Nuvaring. I already had a bit of adult acne and some weight gain before I stopped, but after I stopped the acne went a little crazy - on the lower half of my face and my neck. It has also been a bit over 6 months since I've had a period, which is beginning to freak me out.

I've been looking into an IUD, never had the patch personally (was afraid it'd fall off or something) but I know I wouldn't recommend the implanon/nexplanon implant or Nuvaring, the implant causes crazy side effects and Nuvaring doesn't stay in for anything!

ve been bleeding since May 7th, and it is now May 19th and i have no idea what is going on. I was on NuvaRing birth control and took it out when i went to go see my OB. She told me to put it back in that night and that i wouldn't have a period that month. That was last month. I usually have my period around the 13th or 14th of every month so when i started bleeding this month i thought something was up because it's "not time yet".

I was taking Ortho Tri Cyclen. that helped me.. then they switched me to the patch. I did not like that one at all. then they put me on the Nuvaring. I didn't like that one either because sometimes it would fall out or not fall out it would move and I could feel it and I have to go to the bathroom and fix it. so I would say Ortho Tri Cyclen. but everybody has their own opinions.

I see my doc in 3 weeks and I am going to be very up front with her and demand that she do something, but then I am afraid of going off the lexapro for fear of the depression and panic attacks coming back. Has anyone had any success with anything for loosing weight while on lexapro????????

Im just going to start off by saying I messed up. So I got my nexplanon removed march 4th, I went and got the nuvaring. Needless to say I forgot it in my car for a few days had intercourse with hubby then remembered I had not put in my nuvaring... dumb me I know!!! Now for almost a week ive been having pregnancy symptoms.. like double the intensity I had with both my children.

***The heavier periods are usually for the first 2-3 cycles then become regular... ***Also, I've heard it is easier to become pregnant again after the copper IUD because your body doesn't have to get back to normal etc. after going off of hormones.

I got pregnant on the pill, implanon made me bleed for 3 years, and I used depo for 10 years with no period. Weight gain fluctuates on all three. I got off implanon and took two depo shots. It took us 9 months to conceive.

Anyone ever taken geodon with serequel?( rapid weight gain Being wean off geodon from 80 twice a day now 40 twice a day. If I stop taking geodon will I be able to lose weight? Do serequel cause weight gain? (200 at bed time) It sure helps me sleep.Dr will replace geodon with Lamictal and tompamax. Thanks for any feed back.

The nuvaring always made me have weird symptoms. I swear I thought I was pregnant all the time. I never was. But if you had unprotected sex and then put it in... well you had unprotected sex. Birth control isn't going to work until a week after you put it in which is why they say to double up the method. Best thing to do is wait until you're supposed to take it out and take a pregnancy test. Or take one now since you would have had sex 2 weeks ago and it should be pretty accurate.
