Irregular bleeding, menstrual irregularities as well as vomitting/sickness are all side effects of the nuvaring.
Toward the end of July I took out my Nuvaring and discontinued my use of it because of all the side affects that I have recently become aware of. I am not on any other type of BC at the moment but for the last week or more my nipples have been EXTREMELY sore..so sore that a touch makes me cringe and back away immediately. After removing the Nuvaring, I got my period from July 29th-Aug 1 so I am due to get it again in about a week.
Because it is absorbed vaginally and does not pass through the stomach, it has fewer side effects than birth control pills. There is typically not much weight gain--maybe 3-5 lbs of water weight + whatever the patient overeats and under-exercises. The only two complaints that I have had are that it falls out sometimes, and there can be some vaginal discharge associated with it.

I've really never done birth control long term but I know i really need to find something that works for me. My fiance wants to have a baby soon after the little one we have coming in February so I have to pee proactive about family planning lol. I'm nervous that it'll make me gain weight. I'm thinking I'll try the pill since I'm leary of implants and things have to put inserted by a doctor. Has anyone had experiences with the pill and the side effects?
I've been looking into an IUD, never had the patch personally (was afraid it'd fall off or something) but I know I wouldn't recommend the implanon/nexplanon implant or Nuvaring, the implant causes crazy side effects and Nuvaring doesn't stay in for anything!
I've never gained weight on the pill...I've heard of the depo shot making women gain weight...but everyone's different.

I am a 29 year old female - and about 7 months ago I stopped using Nuvaring. I already had a bit of adult acne and some weight gain before I stopped, but after I stopped the acne went a little crazy - on the lower half of my face and my neck. It has also been a bit over 6 months since I've had a period, which is beginning to freak me out.
Side effects that are comparable between Femara and tamoxifen include night sweats, weight gain, nausea and tiredness. Side effects seen more often with tamoxifen versus Femara were hot flashes and vaginal bleeding. The benefits of FEMARA in clinical trials are based on 24 months of treatment. The birth control pill is nice. You can take it so that you only have a period every four months (discuss with your gynecologist). I find it works well for me (I'm on Microgestin, but there are several out there and your gynecologist will decide what works best for your needs). I had heavy, 7-day-long periods with several clots, nausea, severe cramping, and severe lower back pain before going on the pill but now have light to moderate 2-3 day long periods with few clots if any.
I'm 39 weeks & I want to get on birth control at my 6 week check up after having the baby but I'm curious as to what some of you would maybe suggest? I can't do the pills it never worked for me & I tried multiple different ones & I did nothing but bleed, not sure about depo shot because of the weight gain & I do not trust any of those ones they put inside of you ad I heard they can break off & I'm not willing to risk that. Are there any other options left?
