Avatar n tn t consistent with fluid retention, but what else would cause the weight gain? These are perflexing questions causing me a great deal of frustration. Any help before I return to the Gastroenteroligist would be appreciated. Thanks.
Avatar f tn Hello, I'm hoping someone has had the same symptoms as me because doctors and gastro can figure what is wrong with me. So for 9 months I have had stomach and intestines noises even If i eat anything. Noises and grumbling happen in the mornings mostly but also in day and night . Also anything I eat I burp meanwhile I eat and have gas after eating. My bowel movements are always yellow sometimes light brown no matter what I eat. I get body ache sometimes and urine a lot and body itches.
Avatar f tn Your weight will vary from day to day, especially after something like this. No, this is not the weight gain everyone talks about. The reason for that weight gain is mostly because now that the gallbladder's out, people think "Oh, it's OK for me to eat all these foods again!" (Pain is usually a deterrent to bad behavior, and a painful gallbladder will force you to eat healthier.
Avatar f tn First, a little background: my gastroenterologist diagnosed me with IBS when I was about 16-17 (I'm 21 now), although he didn't do any particular tests. I used to have stomach aches, gas, bloating, and almost exclusively constipation. Every once in a while, I do get diarrhea, but that's pretty rare. Now, I don't usually get that many stomach aches, but I still have the bloating and sometimes gas (depending on what I eat).
Avatar f tn Shall I go back to him and tell him about the weight gain? Even though he told me I will loose weight when he increased the dose...

Avatar n tn My Mom is taking Metformin to control her blood sugar level. She was never heavy, but now she's only 97 pounds. I've been hearing something about Mteformin aiding in, or causing weight loss. Has anyone else heard of this? Should I be concerned that the medicine may be making the problem worse? Also is there anything she should eat/take to gain weight without raising her glucose level?
634218 tn?1228151139 Have you seen your doctor to ask him if the pain meds is causing the weight gain? Don't feel bad, I'm gaining weight too for no reason at all :( I had a hysterectomy in Feb 2008.
Avatar f tn I had no issues back then. Well jump ahead to 28 and I decided to go back on it. After 6 months I noticed slight weight gain and some bloating so I decided to stop. That was Oct. 2011 and now it is March 2012 and I have gained 15 pounds and I have constant bloating and uncomfortableness in my stomach. This is every day and has affected my life to the point where I am extremely depressed about it.
Avatar m tn Last fall I was diagnosed with having hypothyroidism. As a 28 year old female, I was ecstatic because I thought I finally got to the root cause of my inability to lose the weight I wanted to. I maintained a strict diet and exercise routine for years and did lose a lot of weight, but only was able to get down to about 160 lbs (I'm 5'9"). There was still some unattractive stomach fat that looked gross. I ended up having Liposuction done and had 9.1 lbs of fat removed.
Avatar n tn Lantus, just like all insulins, can stimulate the body into causing fat production, so it is possible to gain weight on Lantus.
Avatar f tn Take it with a grain of salt... I'd try to eat out a little less but I wouldn't suggest hardcore dieting. Some drs are sticklers when it comes to weight gain and others are more liberal. I wouldn't worry too much as long as you are still remaining somewhat active and aren't having any other problems with your pregnancy.
Avatar m tn The weight will come off when you discontinue the medication - or switch to a medication that has less of a chance of causing weight gain (ie. Prozac). Serotonin is a neurotransmitter involved in regulating mood. It tends to have a sedating effect that can interfere with your metabolism and make you feel more hungry (especially for sugar and carbs).
Avatar f tn And my doctor says I gained too much weight so fast to slow down. How much weight are you actually suppose to gain in total thru out ur entire pregnancy. ?
Avatar f tn My lower stomach is REALLY puffy! I mean its been puffy since surgery but it's not really going down. I have a really bloated kind of feeling. It feels almost distended, like I realize that I have gained a little weight from my inativity, but the puffy part of my stomach isn't squishy like fat is when i'm standing up straight, it's like more firm feeling, and I noticed that wearing jeans still really kind of hurts my stomach (it's very tight on the puffy area).
Avatar n tn I am on phasing myself off of the paxil and trying to go without because the weight gain is causing more depression than the depression was causing! What can I do to fix my metqabolism.
Avatar f tn I kept loosing weight up to my 5th month of pregnancy, I gain a pound on my 6month and from their on I kept gaining normal pregnancy weight.
Avatar n tn I look as though i am 9 months pregnant while i have had no weight gain, am not pregnant, and my stomach is normally and has always been very small even concave. My stomach seems to blow up even worse upon eating vegetables, most fruit and breads... This is very dibbilitating and embarassing. Any ideas?
