Common Questions and Answers about Most gas causing foods

gas

Avatar m tn If this is positive and you have smell of rotten eggs in urine then you need to cut down food items that contain sulfites. Most of this gas comes from sulfites a person consumes, which is a part of all preservatives. Sulfites are present in all juices, molasses, yellow dye in ready made food stuffs, and red wine. Sulfites are present in lesser amounts in mashed potatoes made from dry powder, pickles, tinned shrimp, cookies, crackers, and readymade pie dough.
Avatar n tn Could be irritation to some foods. Fiber foods often has this result in many. Lactose intolerance is another offender, even just oil or fats in food. The best way to identify what causes it is to pretty much cut out almost all foods limiting to just a few things that don't cause gas. Then ever 2-4 days try 1 new food just once and see if you get gas over the next 2 days. Then repeat. It can take a while to test all foods this way. It works though.

Avatar f tn t know what your diet is like but you should maybe keep a diary of the foods you eat and see what might be causing the gas. Do you drink alot of carbonated drinks, eat a lot of fruit and vegetables?
Avatar n tn You should first see a doctor about your problem no doubt. But also what helps with gas is eliminating foods that cause you gas. Taking Gas-X will help. If your gut is low in good bacteria it can be helpful. Buy Activia or Dannon Yogurts and eat sauerkraut. My doctor put me on an elimination diet to help me find out what foods were causing me gas. I just posted this website under another post. Look under diets, but please get a check up. www.gicare.
Avatar n tn Bloating is the most likely culprit. Try avoiding gas causing foods for a while. The bloating is likely to hang out a while.
Avatar f tn Ladies, I must say never fart. We pass gas and we do so privately and quietly in the rest room. Men on the other pass wind but, only after the third date. All foods produce some gases during the digestion process. Cows in particular produce a lot of methane or swamp gas. This gas is actually odourless. The noxious fumes that cause such laughter among eight year olds and embarrassment for the rest of us is caused be various bacteria which occur harmlessly in the colon.
Avatar n tn If you are still taking the Tetracycline, go back to your doctor and tell him/her that it is causing you these problems, and ask to be put on something else. You obviously have a lot of gas in the stomach area, so did you try eliminating certain foods from your diet? Foods are usually the culprit when it comes to gas. But I'm a BIG fan of second opinions, and sounds like you need one. Did your GI ever do an endoscopy?
Avatar m tn Has to boil not microwave since boiling removes the color and what ever is causing my gas. I can microwave for a long time and still get gas. I also do a drain and refill on the water when boiling thinking I am boiling out what causes gas and draining it out. Some veggies cause so much gas I will be burping up mouth fulls of vomit until the gas is far enough down to come out the other end if I am constipated. Raw is much worst. Yet stuff like carrots and spinach have no affect on me at all.
Avatar n tn Only in the respect that I do eat yogurt (the so-called regular type, not the ones that are advertised to help digestion) almost every day. I can't say that I've noticed any difference since doing this (have only been doing this about a month), but again, it could be because of the type of yogurt that I'm eating. Do you use any or a lot of artificial sweeteners such as aspertame or splenda?
Avatar m tn I haven't been officially diagnosed, but I probably have IBS. I'm a 49 year old male. I have no stress & I haven't been able to attribute symptoms to any particular foods. I eat basically the same things but don't have problems all the time. My biggest issue in the last few years is that I will get a sudden "attack" of gas (it feels like a balloon in my gut) sometimes with diarrhea. It can happen at any time out of the blue.

Avatar f tn Also, try not to eat fast because you can unintentionally swallow a lot of air causing the gas and discomfort. If there are certain foods that seem to worsen your symptoms, try to avoid them for now. You should also talk to your doctor about getting a prescription for anti-nausea medicine like Zofran. You can take a dose at night which will help alleviate the nausea. They may also suggest pepcid to help with the gas/reflux.
367100 tn?1330914725 You may have a slight intolerance to these foods now that you are pregnant. I say stay away from them and eat less gassy foods. I know tomato sauce is hard on the stomach and brocolli and cauliflower cause gas. Also, any rice will constipate you. What kept me from being nauseaus so much was pasta with a little garlic and butter. The first trimester in pregnancy is hard but the second should be a little better.
Avatar f tn About two months ago I started with sudden diarrhea and went to see an internal specialist who gave me an antibiotic for a possible bacterial infection. Since then the diarrhea is not how it was before, but my stool is still very loose and in smaller pieces. It is also sort of mucus-like. I also get excessive gas that ends up odorless... like I'm full of just air. It is sometimes moving around so fiercely in my stomach that it is very loud and I can feel it almost in my back.
Avatar f tn Bookworm, it's safe. But if you're having to resort to using it, it sounds like you're experiencing a lot of gas production and it's uncomfortable. Have you looked for the underlying cause? Are there other symptoms going on? Many times when someone produces a fair amount of uncomfortable gas it could be due to a food/foods that their system can't process well. Have you tried to exclude foods to see if that could be causing the problem?
Avatar f tn You should experiment with avoiding certain foods like milk, pulses, meat and most importantly avoid all sorts of fast foods, potato chips, chocolates, sugar. Fry some Bitter gourd (bitter melon) and serve with rice. Avoid chili peppers and spicy foods. Try the following 1 teaspoon powdered ginger, 1 teaspoon powdered cumin, 1 teaspoon powdered cinnamon. Combine all three, add some honey, and mix into a thick paste. Give one teaspoon three times a day.

5615074 tn?1378316840 I'm probably 98% sure the pains I have every once in a while are gas pains, but how can I get it out?
Avatar f tn You could also track your diet and your symptoms to see if you can pinpoint any foods that might be causing it. Pay attention to everything - food, drinks, chewing gum, meds. If it goes in your mouth, you should track it. Since the symptoms vary from week to week, I'd wonder if it's certain foods/drinks/meds that are triggering certain things.
