Common Questions and Answers about Free elisa test in nyc

elisa-test

Avatar m tn I recently had HIV test done in Advanced Dermatalogy Clinic in NYC. They drew blood from my vein and it took them only 30 minutes to produce a result. According to them it's not one of the point of care tests like Oraquick or Reveal. It's is in fact and Elisa test. They have a lab in the facility and say that the results are 99.9% correct. Is this believable? Would a respectable clinic lie to their patients? I never heard of such a quick turn around on Elisa test.
Avatar m tn Possible exposure (protected but drunk) during last week December to first week January 2010 (by 10th?). Oral swab test on 1/29/10 in NYC clinic was negative. Subsequent NYC Elisa testing with my doctor on 2/2 (Neg on all STD's, HIV, Hep), 2/16 (Neg on HIV), 3/2 (Neg on all STD's, HIV, Hep). Will see Doc on 3/9 but test then or when??
Avatar n tn Should I re-test even though I am currently in and have been in a completely 1 on 1 relationship (ps she was tested in Jun, 07 with me) and both she and I are 100% monagamus? Any advice is welcome...
Avatar m tn There are NO Duo tests in the US. Period. A standard P24 test and ELISA tests are ran on two difference tests which with a Duo test they are ran together. Mass. tests are Not conclusive for a REAL exposure until 3 months. To correct you the 3 month window period was in April 2004 and is where it stands today. There are NO doctors that can change the window or testing guidelines. The guidelines are set by the Mfg of the tests and the FDA.
Avatar m tn I think the OraQuick is a good chance im OK but I suppose the ELISA will better confirm. Also if the ELISA test comes back negative do you think I should test again at 3 months or this is good enough?
Avatar f tn t enough she will start chemo in 3 weeks she already started to lose chunks of hair pretty sad i know wig will make her feel better where can i get one? This discussion is related to Need a wig?.
Avatar f tn I freaked and when I went to the NYC department of health, they told me to take an acute HIV test that had a window of 7-10 days post exposure to be accurate. I got it done 17 days after the incident. Results came back negative. I believe it was a duo or antigen something kind of test. Would be this accurate? What should I do?
Avatar n tn IFA is an antibody test in the same was ELISA and W.blot are. Different docs use different ones.
Avatar m tn After been diagnosed with mono I did an Elisa Repid test (Dermatology Health Center in NYC) on March 10 (4 month after the incident) and It was negative. After that I was diagnosed with thyrode cancer. Today, a year later I developed a sore troath for over a month, I did my 6 mnth check up and I have 5 larger than usual lymph nodes on the neck, a canker soar and dry mouth. My question is, is there any way that Rapid Elisa Test after 4 months was not conclusive.
Avatar f tn I been traveling back in forth out of nyc... Got caught I'm the rain and slept under ac... So I got a bad cold I had protected sex at the beginning of the month... I had no oral sex with my partner... But I notice a little discharge from my penis.. I have seen his test results. And it was sero negative... And I took my elisa hiv test... that came back negative....
Avatar f tn Hi all, I am looking for a LLMD in the NYC area. Please send me an email if you know of any. My e-mail address is ***@****. It is greatly appreciated. Also, just to vent alittle...... I have recently tested positive for lyme but the doctors WON'T treat me! I have seen about 30 doctors. In and out of the hospital. For the past 2 months. No one can figure out whats wrong with me. Finally a blood test showed that I have lyme.
Avatar m tn Quest, while able to find the code in their computer, said they could not run the test in the state. I called my doctor, giving him the number to directly call the UW laboratory. He told me he called them, but the best they could do, since i live in New York State and they are not licensed to perform the test here, was give him the number for the NYS Board of Health (but he didn't really say why.) Sooo... What now?
Avatar m tn 2 - I took a lab based ELISA test two days after the 9 week negative oraquick rapid as I understand ELISA labs are better. Is this correct? 3 - Do you agree with the clinicians at the NYC Clinic that state the 33 day Antibody/Pooled RNA Negative was conclusive? They use the same method as North Carolina.4 - I'm thinking about an INDIVIDUAL RNA-PCR tomorrow at day 68 (two days shy of 10 weeks). Is RNA still detectable around this time if Antibodies are still not present at 9 weeks?
Avatar m tn 3 Months post exposure is when you can obtain your conclusive test result.

Avatar n tn at the montifore medical center in bronx (dr gilbert) its $10 for the bio kit rapid assay and $30 for th offive visit (i have the same problem my results was 1.79 over four months ago and still no symptoms. i have to go there as well for the test because no one in michigan does conformation testing which is weired i spewed about it in my blog very irritating lmfao) the herpes select test by focus has "issues" w false positives with scores under 3,5 some were even saying 3.0.
Avatar m tn Why is it that they havent made a better way of Elisa or anything? its so a old way to find HIV. The Elisa test is like 20-25 years old. and they still use it? Why.
Avatar n tn Our product INSTI is a rapid in-vitro qualitative test for the detection of antibodies to Human Immunodeficiency Virus Type 1/2. However our current license from Health Canada is for only HIV-1 and that is the reason the product inserts you saw at the clinics in Ontario mention only HIV-1. Our application for HIV-2 is pending with Health Canada and we are hopeful that very soon INSTI will be licensed in Canada for HIV-2 also like it is many countries including Europe.
Avatar n tn What is the difference in the Oralswab rapid test and unigold rapid finger prick test? Are they both just as accurate and sensitive? Is one better or more reliable than the other? Is it just better to test with ELISA test or is there a difference?
Avatar m tn You never had a risk and Tridot is not outdated.
Avatar m tn It's an ELISA test.
