Avatar f tn I have been on Forteo daily injections for 1 year and I have experienced considerable joint pains which did not exist prior to treatment. My left hip and knee, my right knee and my hands have been getting worse each month. Has anyone else experienced similar reactions?
Avatar f tn My doctor told me that I have Osteoporosis and wants me to try Forteo an injection for two years. Has anyone tried this drug and what were your side effects, if any. I don't want to make my stomach problems worse than there already are.
Avatar f tn I have severe osteoporosis and am trying to take Forteo. I started out with half dose and have worked up to a full dose. The full dose 2 days in a row was disabling. My doctor suggested every other day. So I let the previous trial work its way out of my system for 5 days and tried another full dose. This is three days after the dose and I am weaker each day. I move in slow motion. My doctor is puzzled. Anyone had a similar experience?
Avatar f tn Just was informed that I have osteoporosis. My doctor wants me to use Forteo, an injection that you use for two years.
1168718 tn?1464983535 Hi guys, this is a question for us users of Copaxone. I am wondering if anyone knows the reason we have to pinch up our skin before doing a manual injection? I am asking because some of my sites are easy to do that, but some are not. I have just been injecting , like anyother needle, and my reactions are minimal. Am I doing something wrong? With the Autoject, the reaction sites were just to sore, and lumpy, and I'm trying it this way..... \\\\\\\\So, what do ya think??? Thxs...
Avatar f tn As for myself, I am a patient suffering from severe osteoporosis. My doctor, realizing I cannot afford Forteo ($950 per month!), has suggested I try to find how I can take the equivalent, generic version, which is Bonista. Please, if anyone can tell me how to get ahold of this medication, any address, emails of sellers, etc! I would be so grateful! This discussion is related to Bonista-side effects.
Avatar m tn Can anyone provide me the link for the approved timeline for HIV testing (CDC or FDA). In this website I keep on reading about the 3 months approved mark for testing but i couldnt find anything official over the internet. (some doctors say that there is a chance that few people might seroconvert after six months).
1168718 tn?1464983535 I am going to try just the manual injection.............. I find it complicated to figure out the self injections, but, that is my own mind playing games with me. I'm sure it is not complicated, but the regular injections seem just easier. Will let you know how it goes, it will be at 10 am tomorrow, with the Shared Solutions health nurse... wish me luck !!!
908504 tn?1269103899 He also wanted me to try the injections of Forteo but my Aunt had bone cancer in her hips so I am somewhat leary of that drug. Any info will be greatly appreciated as I am in really bad pain.
Avatar f tn Hi-- When you say Medicare, I assume it is Medicare Part D, administered by an insurance company like Blue Cross, etc? If so, you might be in for sticker shock. I had a similar experience w/ Forteo, via Part D, they wanted $5K for 3 months. I went directly to Lilly, and qualified for pro bono meds for 2 years, the limit of tx on Forteo. My understanding is patients with cirrhosis get priority. Other Gilead experienced persons, and there are a few here, can tell you more.
Avatar m tn You don't have an HIV concern and you do not need testing.
Nicelady Medications themselves can be classified as antiresorptive or bone anabolic agents. Teriparatide (Forteo) is also approved for the treatment of postmenopausal women who have severe osteoporosis and are considered at high risk for fractures. The medicine is given through daily shots underneath the skin and you can give these shots even at home. Another advantage is that it can be given in patients who cannot tolerate oral biphosphonate drugs.
649598 tn?1239117215 s are the worst and the LONGEST drugs to come off of. How bad and how long depends on dose and length of time taken. Heavy users count years not days. Keep you head about you, because the "head withdrawls" are as bad as the body withdrawals. DO NOT QUIT COLD TURKEY!!! See site - benzo.org.uk (Ashton Manual).
1041953 tn?1259072690 Not nearly as much ...Its primarily opiate related.... much of the Thomas Recipe deals with gastrointestinal problems like stomach and bowel symptoms. Those shouldnt be as large an issue with benzo's. Much of the Recipe endorses benzo's for help with sleep issues - thats obviously not applicable. The vitamins and supplements (amino acid protocols) are good things to do no matter what - - - and they will help with benzo's ........ reference benzo.UK - Ashton Manual .............

Avatar f tn Just have a quick question for all of you Copaxone users out there ... I have been taking Copaxone without too much trouble since November. My typical site reaction is a welt, and maybe a small bruise that goes away after 3-4 days. Last Monday, I gave my shot in my left arm without anything unusual. THe problem is that I still have an area of acute pain in my left arm where I gave the shot and it has been a week. All I have to do it touch the skin in that area and it hurts like crazy.
