Avatar f tn I have been on Forteo daily injections for 1 year and I have experienced considerable joint pains which did not exist prior to treatment. My left hip and knee, my right knee and my hands have been getting worse each month. Has anyone else experienced similar reactions?
Avatar f tn My doctor told me that I have Osteoporosis and wants me to try Forteo an injection for two years. Has anyone tried this drug and what were your side effects, if any. I don't want to make my stomach problems worse than there already are.
Avatar f tn I have severe osteoporosis and am trying to take Forteo. I started out with half dose and have worked up to a full dose. The full dose 2 days in a row was disabling. My doctor suggested every other day. So I let the previous trial work its way out of my system for 5 days and tried another full dose. This is three days after the dose and I am weaker each day. I move in slow motion. My doctor is puzzled. Anyone had a similar experience?
Avatar f tn Just was informed that I have osteoporosis. My doctor wants me to use Forteo, an injection that you use for two years.
Avatar f tn As for myself, I am a patient suffering from severe osteoporosis. My doctor, realizing I cannot afford Forteo ($950 per month!), has suggested I try to find how I can take the equivalent, generic version, which is Bonista. Please, if anyone can tell me how to get ahold of this medication, any address, emails of sellers, etc! I would be so grateful! This discussion is related to Bonista-side effects.
908504 tn?1269103899 He also wanted me to try the injections of Forteo but my Aunt had bone cancer in her hips so I am somewhat leary of that drug. Any info will be greatly appreciated as I am in really bad pain.
Avatar f tn Hi-- When you say Medicare, I assume it is Medicare Part D, administered by an insurance company like Blue Cross, etc? If so, you might be in for sticker shock. I had a similar experience w/ Forteo, via Part D, they wanted $5K for 3 months. I went directly to Lilly, and qualified for pro bono meds for 2 years, the limit of tx on Forteo. My understanding is patients with cirrhosis get priority. Other Gilead experienced persons, and there are a few here, can tell you more.
Nicelady Medications themselves can be classified as antiresorptive or bone anabolic agents. Teriparatide (Forteo) is also approved for the treatment of postmenopausal women who have severe osteoporosis and are considered at high risk for fractures. The medicine is given through daily shots underneath the skin and you can give these shots even at home. Another advantage is that it can be given in patients who cannot tolerate oral biphosphonate drugs.
Avatar n tn I had manual contact of my penis w/saliva from a man who was touching self. Day 3 - tip of my penis burned and I had sharp shocks & tingling in genitals. Day 11: one side of meatus was raised compared to other - as if by a blister under skin.
Avatar n tn I always manual breathe. I have no clue as to how to breathe normally. I am trying yoga now, they say it's great for your health, it teaches u how to breathe right, and it keeps your joints flexible. Very good for the mind, body, spirit. i figure I have nothing else to loose. We have alot of men, fit and not fit. Its for everyone now. have a great day.
Avatar m tn Thanks for your feedback. My case has baffled most doctors. I drink alot of water, eat a healthy diet and don't smoke or drink. The only meds I take are for my bones (Forteo) as I found out that I had extreme osteoporosis in Nov. 2008. I have had my circualtion checked several times and it is reduced in my "weaker" foot. There is no blockages and I have no rare diseases.... My problem is only becoming worse and noone knows why....
10052319 tn?1408978714 I loved my medela manual! I had a double electric and a manual and I always got more milk with the manual :) so I'm not even bothering getting an electric one this time, just getting the manual again!
Avatar f tn Manual is pointless to me. I could hand express faster then the manual.
Avatar f tn Manual injection is a little hard to get used to. I used the autoject all the time I was on Copaxone. But I had to inject my blood clot medication by hand, and they didn't have an injector. It's really hard to stick the needle into your skin, but it's really not painful. (As long as you pick a fatty spot!) I used a cold pack, which kept the stinging down, but I think it also encouraged me to ignore the area.
Avatar n tn I am in the process of many test now and the only abnormalty found so far is an elevated level of calcium in my blood, a result of Forteo injections. My blood pressure is perfect! Can you give me any idea what is happening to me and if there is anything I can do to help myself this mystery is solved?
Avatar f tn I have an electric to use again, but will have the avent manual as a back up. I def recommend the manual since ur insurance only covers it, but renting from the hospital is also another option..
Avatar f tn But after your milk comes in electrics do get milk out faster.
Avatar f tn The choice between manual or electric is really a by person thing. I personally didn't like manuals because I would break them from over use. And electric were much more useful. That being said I have friends that breast feed that would only use manual and hated electrics lol. Also some women manually express milk and do very well with this method.
Avatar f tn Then after start pumping so daddy and big sisters can feed. Since i will not be pumping often my ? Is manual or electric. I believe single pump will be fine. This is a first time thing for me so all input is welcomed and appreciated.
1512722 tn?1313697879 Alright a few of us ladies were just talking. Someone mentioned writing a manual for ppl on kids! Give what you'd write in your manual for someone u were letting what your kid. Ill just give one I'd put! 1)No pop! They are hyper enough they do not need pop!
6894081 tn?1390747763 I agree with above. If you plan to pump frequently then the electric one is worth the money. But if you want a pump "just in case" then a manual one should be fine. When I had my first daughter, I started with just a manual one, but when I went back to work I realized I wanted to continue to breastfeed and the manual one just want going to cut it. So I ended up buying a double electric one.
