Avatar n tn I took Forteo for 10 months. and i can barely walk. i took Tymlos for the first 6 months and was fine, and then Forteo for 10 months. my strength is gone, my feet hurt wearing shoes, i have stomach pain when exercising, and ave thigh muscle cramps, neck pain, and can't sleep. I had confusion when driving, so i told my doctor i'm done with this. I know where i'm going these days, but I now use a walker around the house, elastic knee braces to walk on my own.
Avatar f tn I have been on Forteo daily injections for 1 year and I have experienced considerable joint pains which did not exist prior to treatment. My left hip and knee, my right knee and my hands have been getting worse each month. Has anyone else experienced similar reactions?
Avatar f tn My doctor told me that I have Osteoporosis and wants me to try Forteo an injection for two years. Has anyone tried this drug and what were your side effects, if any. I don't want to make my stomach problems worse than there already are.
Avatar f tn I have severe osteoporosis and am trying to take Forteo. I started out with half dose and have worked up to a full dose. The full dose 2 days in a row was disabling. My doctor suggested every other day. So I let the previous trial work its way out of my system for 5 days and tried another full dose. This is three days after the dose and I am weaker each day. I move in slow motion. My doctor is puzzled. Anyone had a similar experience?
1742424 tn?1311105290 I know the VA states there is no connection or link to Osteosarcoma and Agent Orange, but I diagree totally! Osteosarcoma is usually a child disease instead of an adult disease. My husband is 64 years old and he was diagnosed with Osteogenic Sarcoma, which is a very rare disease for a 64 year old adult. I need a few opinions and case studies where there is a link to the disease and Agent Orange.
Avatar n tn The implant in his left knee was NOT removed.... and osteosarcoma formed at the site of the implant. Has anyone else experienced this terrible cancer from having this procedure? Amputation and thousands of dollars later could not save his life....such a tragic loss.
Avatar n tn (can someone explain it and does anyone know if amputation is recommended in this case? ) --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Diagnosis: Upper tibia, side not specified, excision: -Osteoblastic osteosarcoma, high grade.see note.
Avatar f tn Other Gilead experienced persons, and there are a few here, can tell you more. Depending upon your income, and your stage of cirrhosis, you may be able to get your meds totally pro bono, side stepping Part D completely.
Avatar f tn I have worked with this site for many years assisting people to get the medicines that they need. You should check and see if you qualify for the Forteo assistance program: http://www.needymeds.org/drug_list.taf?_function=name&name=Forteo Good luck! I am a breast cancer patient in a drug study taking the osteoporosis drug, Zometa. There is some promising data that suggests osteoporosis drugs may help prevent breast cancer patients having recurrances of cancer as bone cancer.
Avatar n tn We had a dog with osteosarcoma (bone cancer). Took him for an opinion at a veterinary teaching hospital, and he was fortunate enough to get into a research protocol. He had his leg amputated and got chemo, then was placed on an oral study drug. He lived for 3+ more years, which was phenomenal compared to the dismal survival chances he was given prior.
Avatar f tn I have since googled these blood tests and what they are used for and I found that they are used to look for inflammation and also for Osteosarcoma. I was really surprised at the similiarities between the two different conditions, one benign and the other very serious. Is there anything that distinguishes them that can be seen with the eye to give me some peace of mind until all the test results come back?
Avatar f tn I had a BMD issue a couple of years ago (suffered 3 hip fractures over 2 years) and after seeing 7 different doctors my Primary Care seemed to put a ton of things together and believed I was not absorbing calcium and may estrogen levels were super low and virtually non existent. I was put on Ogestral and Forteo and knock on wood- no more injuries and a BMD increase of 22% in 1 yr. However, I started having what I thought was food allergies.
Avatar f tn Been diagnosed with a tibia stress fracture today after a long week of waiting on an xray (to rule out sarcoma as thier is a lump) been told tonight it is a strange looking fracture and they have never seen anything like it so I'm panicking again now, any ideas what I have ahead of me
Avatar m tn A few days after Christmas, I started having pain around my right knee and my right knee swelled. I went to my GP to have it checked out and had an x ray of my right knee done. There were no tumors to be found. A few days after my doctor visit, my left knee also swelled and started hurting at rest as well, with the pain in my left knee being aggravated by walking.
Avatar f tn I also have swollen lyhpm nodes since February and I have a swollen knee on my right side and I have lung pain and back pain. My back pain and my pain that runs down from my hip to my foot all happen a few months ago. I'm afraid if it's osteosarcoma :( all of my pain is on my right side.
Avatar n tn They cancelled our last follow up appointment as the doctor had to go out of town and then we moved and I forgot to call and reschedule. So, that one appt. is the only one he has had (June 2006). I called to make another appointment and have been given one several months from now despite his pain (here's hoping they don't cancel that one). I have been unsuccessful finding another doctor that will see a child as young as him.
Avatar m tn It started when I heard of a acquaintance passing from a osteosarcoma. I immediately began to worry and attempted to brush it off. However after returning to the gym from a long hiatus I noticed the aches and pains from my few days of working out weren't going away and i refrained from going back. My aches were primarily in my calfs, shins, forearms, and triceps. But I also had pain in my biceps, thighs, hamstrings, calves, lower back, and shoulder.
Avatar f tn My  20 year son has severe chronic bone pain, osteoporosis and has had multiple fractures.  We have also had bone biopsy with showed a mineralization defect(focal osteomalacia) and high turn bone turnover but these do not lend themselves to a diagnosis.  His blood levels of calcium and vit D are normal.  He received a Pamidronate infusion in October 2004 and that is when the pain began.  He was completely debilitated at that time as he is now.
Avatar n tn Primary bone cancer (osteosarcoma) is usually found in the long bones of the limbs, not the ribs. It is also more prevalent in younger age groups. However, there are certain types of malignancy which can have metastatic spread to the bone. These include multiple myeloma, prostate and lung cancer. A bone scan can help differentiate if that spot is likely caused by metastatic spread or some other benign condition.
Avatar f tn It used to be believed that patients with Osteosarcome (a bone cancer) who present with fracture are less likely to be cured than those Osteosarcoma patients without fracture. Thankfully, even those with fractures are still candidates for cure. The point here is that the risk of cancer spreading is pretty much a function of the cancer itself. Consider the scenario of a patient who complains of back pain and weakness of the legs.
Avatar m tn In the summer, when I take a hot shower or just when I wake up, my foot becomes red and swollen. It has evolved to the point that both my feet and hands have this condition. My injured foot is worse. I live in a cold, winter climate and my feet turn purple as well. I have lost feeling in my left foot and it is becoming scary. Meds (to increase circulation) have aggravated the problem). RSD was ruled out as I had a nerve block which aggravated the problem. I have had all blood tests.
