5149794 tn?1374087979 Just have to tell somebody. After two months of no car no nothing! Today is the day I get my suv back! The whole motor (head gaskets) went out & after 1800 dollars and paying insurance on a truck that I didn't have. I get it back today so excited. Been having to ask for rides using my mother's car for doctors appointment. I know family should be there to help but I hate asking for anything!
Avatar m tn 77 year old man, 150 lbs., history of chest pain, coronary calcium score of 12.21 ascending aorta is enlarged to 44mm. Is this considered an aneurysym? What is normal for a person of this size? left foot and ankle stayed grossly swollen. MRI stated that COPD is "suspected". Any thoughts on this?
144586 tn?1284666164 I shut the valve off, run to the second floor (nearby stairway) remove the fifty-foot length of hose on that valve (there is a spanner there), bring it down and add another fifty foot. The fire department has still not arrived. When I have a hundred foot of line tightened I turn the water on again. The Mexicans have disappeared. More people in the lobby fleeing! I blast another hundred of them, men, women and children. "You moron!" one of them screams. "Idiot!
Avatar f tn I had an aortic valve replacement on April 14th. About a month afterward I developed severe edema in my right foot and now it's in both feet and lower legs. What could be causing this, and how can it be remedied? I've been taking diuretics daily for over a month with no visible improvement. Neither my cardiologist nor internist has an explanation. They have tested me and ruled out fluid in lungs and blood clots. Thank you.
Avatar f tn In a worse case scenario you may lose toes from amputation, a foot, or a leg. Or the infection will travel to the heart and you will require a heart-valve replacement. The red line on the top of the foot suggests thast the infection has spread. Cutting to the chase, you have a potentially life-threatening problem.
553516 tn?1255867219 should i be worried? I have been told that i have a biscuip heart valve and mild angina. Will i know if the vavle gets worst what do i look for symtom wise . My g.p has told it might get stiff soon and i may need it replaced . He has put me on a gtn spray and staitian tablets but my lipids are not that high.
Avatar f tn It is a common heart valve abnormality, affecting 5% to 10% of the population. MVP is especially common among women between 20 to 40 years of age. Chest pain with MVP is usually sharp but not severe. Unlike angina, chest pain with MVP rarely occurs during or after exercise, and usually will not respond to nitroglycerin. The PFO may not be medically significant and that depends on the degree of shunting.
Avatar f tn I am a 52 year old woman who had mitral valve replacement 2 years ago. I have a titanium valve and will be on Coumadin the rest of my life. I also have severe lower back pain, to the buttocks, hip, side of leg and into my foot. I have not been able to find a doctor that will do anything but refer me to Pain Management and they prescribe pain medication. My cardiologist said that under a hospital setting I could be put on hypren(sp) so something could be done to my back.
Avatar f tn I have noticed buzzing in my left foot for about a year, and just recently my right leg. Wondering if this could be a delayed lingering effect of my bilateral bunionectomies and hammertoe repairs. First surgery...2001, last surgery December 2006. Also, I had my mitral valve repaired in 2002. On no meds, except for 325mg ASA & multi-vitamin. I try to get 30 mintues of cardio exercise every other day..bike, power-walk, swim. As this buzzing can be a symptom of MS, I am concerned.
Avatar m tn I have been diagnosed with Mitral Valve Reg and Pulmonary Hypertension and a stiff heart. My doctor says the pressure in my heart is high due to the mitral valve leakage. They did the echo card found that the leak was not that big but when they did the cardiac catherization that's when they found the pressure was high behind the leak. I am now on my third medicine Isorsorbide and HCTZ. I have stopped taking the medicine. What would happen to my heart.
Avatar m tn I have PAD (peripheral artery disease) and had developed a 100% block of my iliac artery supplying blood flow to my left leg. For 2 years I walked around with great pain in that leg shrugging it off as arthritis. It was a burning ache that prevented me from walking much. I was always telling people to go ahead when I was at the mall or in the store. I would say I had to rest the leg and catch up with them. The cardiologist couldn't believe I endured the pain that long.
342425 tn?1241379464 When I was pregnant with my 4 year old. My mitral valve was not closing in my heart. I have had an echo done about 2 years ago and it showed my mitral valve to be closing. Any time I assert my self, (cleaning , sweeping, walking too fast for about 50 foot steps,) I get lite headed, dizzy and short of breath. I have to sit down so I don't pass out. We found this av block a week and a half ago and am running blood work, a full work up.
Avatar n tn I have been told over years, I have heart murmur, leaking valve, or not so, but have been on Lanoxin for over 20 years and finally switched to Verapamil as Toprol gave me nightmares or vivid dreams for two months. I recently developed a steady low weakening feeling of pain in my left arm and tingling in left hand and foot as well. I've experience these feelings before and went away, but now it is staying with me for last 3 months.
Avatar m tn I am a 38 year old male with moderate to severe aortic valve regurgitation, thickened intervventricular septum, slighlty enlarged heart and slightly enlarged aorta. I was found to have a murmur at age 20 in a routine check-up and it had been mild until age 35 -- all exams alos called my valve tricuspid. To my surprise, the aortic regurgitation became 2+ - 3+ on an echocardiogram 3 weeks ago and my valve has sense been called bicuspid. Can valves become bicuspid?
Avatar m tn I am told i have fibromyalgia .Does anyone out there suffer with very bad foot pain ? and very bad hand pain / with fibromyalgia .?
Avatar f tn I have been to a vascular surgeon and had ultrasounds of my legs and it showed no blockage anywhere. My leg and foot literally become twice the size of my right leg, and my toenails will turn grey and my foot and ankle will become purplish in color. I am very concerned about the damage I might be doing to my leg, and if there is any other avenue to puruse other than "this is something you will have to live with the rest of your life.
Avatar n tn Finally, they did an echocardiogram to rule out bicuspid valve. This report said that the valve is tricuspid and mildly thickened. Mild 1+ aortic valve regurgitation. Now, I feel so confused. When I went to see the CT Surgeon a month after these tests, he said I only have a dilated ascending aorta, at 4cm, and made no mention of the 4.7cm that the catheterization found. He said he didn't need to see me for 2 years.
620048 tn?1358018235 well, Its not my mitral valve that is causing this right now, my Cardio and MS specialist talked and she is sure it is frome the MS. my mitral valve is not bad enough to fix and most likely not causing me any problems...but he will keep an eye on it and I have to have a stress test next week.. I am just so fatigued , and I have always had the fatigue and i live with it constantly but it feels like it has taken a huge jump....
Avatar f tn Now my right leg and foot is swelling to the point of Deep Denting with a small amount of pressure that last for several minutes. Now they are sending me for a Venus Doppler. I have no endurance for any activites besides walking for more than 5-10 minutes depending on the temp. After that time my face turns blood red and I start dry heaving. Any thoughts.....
Avatar m tn 3. get an echocardiogram to look at the mitral valve and exlude things like a leaky valve (regurgitation). I would then make a decision on whether your body could take it living at a higher altitude. Good Luck.
Avatar m tn Latest news is that the night before the operation, doctors diagnosed significant problem on the aortic valve of the heart and after an echo check next morning, they decided to go on immediately with the CABG, changing the valve itself and making 2 bypasses (one from chest and one from right foot). The whole operation took around 9 hours, but the feart began working again without any help.
Avatar f tn is it uncommon to have issues in 3 of the valves? Is it uncommon to have any/all of these things at my age? Are these 3 things something the Dr. should have discussed with me, if only to say I have these things, but they aren't a problem now? My nurse practitioner did briefly discuss the aortic valve, but only after prompting, and only to say that I should consider taking 1 low dose aspirin/day. Should I mention the regurgitation to dentists/doctors in the future?
Avatar f tn my son is 14 yrs old 5 foot 9 inches and weighs 133 lbs. he has biscupid aorta valve with root dilation. within 6 months his aorta measurements went from 3.4cm to 3.6cm. his doctor told him to stop all sports and weight lifting. To avoid contact to the chest they are concerned of his aorta bursting. He is upset with this and feels they tookeverything away fromhim.is this neccesary.
645800 tn?1466860955 Both of my feet are numb constantly due to the MS. I have in the past put a 2 inch long gash in the side of my right foot (the worst foot) and not known it. The only reason I found out the I had cut my foot was that several hours later I notice bloody foot prints all over my home.
Avatar m tn My dad was diagnosed several months ago with Mitral Valve Prolapse & after several tests was told his mitral valve needed to be replaced. A little background...He has been fighting fluid buildup over the last year. He will build up alot of fluid & gain about 30 pounds then have to go into the hospital, get put on a higher strength diuretic & a catheter & drain the fluid. He gets sent home for about a month, then start the cycle all over again.
Avatar m tn My husband is 67 years old and 5 months post bovine aortic heart valve replacement. He is fit and able to keep his blood pressure normal with medication. We live in New England and are planning to hike in Wyoming later this summer at altitude of about 10,000 feet. We will be carrying about 40 pounds of gear for the 7-day hike. In general, is there anything to be concerned about with this kind of physical activity and his current condition?
