Avatar n tn He said that was probably something I was born with. He said he did not know what was wrong with my foot and sent me to see a foot and ankle specialist. They ordered an ultrasound to rule out blood clots and there were not any. Now the foot and ankle specialist does not know what is wrong with my foot. I am not able to walk much on my foot and I can not put my toes to the floor. When I do walk on it, I have to walk on the side of my foot because the pain is so bad.
Avatar n tn Hi, I have a pain in my right foot. It is on the top of my foot and only last a few seconds then goes away. Seems to happen most when I am relaxed or laying down. I can't recall any injuries, there is no bruising and does not hurt to touch or press. It is quite painful while it's happening and has been going on for the last 3 days. Does anyone know what this might be or how I can stop it from happening?
Avatar f tn My son is now almost 13, when he was approx 6 we were told he had webbed feet as 2 toes on either foot appeared to be shorter.

Avatar n tn Other conditions that can cause foot pain include ligament injuries and joint irritation. These problems can also be relieved with more accommodating footwear. Treatment of foot pain often consists of anti-inflammatory medications, footwear modifications, and inserts for your shoes. Metatarsal pads help to take pressure off the ball of the foot. If some simple steps do not alleviate your symptoms, you should see your doctor to ensure you are receiving adequate treatment.

Avatar m tn There is pain, tenderness and swelling at the outer border of the foot, most marked at the site of 5th metatarsal. Diagnosis is easy by an X-ray. Treatment is by below knee walking plaster cast for 3 weeks. Take care!
Avatar n tn I injured a tendon in my right foot several times. Recently, 5 months, I have had severe pain, could not walk on it. I used an ankle brace, heat, ice and rested it but it has not resolved itself completely. Is there anything left to do?
Avatar n tn I have these two ultrasound pictures of what the Tech said is a girl but it looks just like the baby's foot. The Tech said that the baby had it's feet tucked up and she could not get a look at the gender. Then she made the baby move and all of a sudden she said it is a girl. You cannot even see legs like you see in other ultrasound pictures. Plus in one picture there are 3 lines and then the other shows 4 lines.
3026831 tn?1340069065 I woke up a couple months ago and i had ankle/foot pain in my left foot. My whole foot will get swolen, on my ankle it will get kind of greenish like a bruise.
Avatar m tn I have been playing football for 3 years now and no serious injuries in the past two. A few days ago i started getting a pain on my left foot about 2-3 inches above the big toe. It hurts the most when I walk up stairs or walk in general. When playing football i dont feel any pain what so ever because my mind is focused on the game. I am a Defensive linemen and i am 6'5" 290 lbs if that helps. There is no bruising or swelling. Please help me!
Avatar n tn Though it is possible to get mortons neuroma twice in the same foot; other possibilities such as fractures, ligament/ tendon injuries, infections, inflammations like fasciitis etc, spur formation, heel fat pad syndrome, arch issues etc may also need to be considered as possible diagnoses to the symptoms. I would suggest consulting an orthopedician for an accurate diagnosis and appropriate management. Hope this helps. Take care!
Avatar f tn I agree with Remar, I would see a doctor, you may have had some minor internal injuries to the foot and that needs to be taken care of.
Avatar n tn As there is very little soft tissue to protect the top of the foot, bone injuries are common. The second, third and fourth Metatarsals are the most commonly injured bones due to something falling on your foot. Without any fracture you would need physiotherapy and anti inflammatory medications to decrease the pain and inflammation. I would also suggest you to wear proper footwear. Take care!
Avatar f tn Approximately two weeks ago I fell down some concrete steps face first. Almost immediately afterwards, the middle of my lower leg started bruising and became extremely swollen. The swelling was larger than my knee and stuck out more towards my outer leg. I followed RICE over the next day and a half, but it kept swelling and the bruise going darker, which I expected. Now, the swelling has gone down a lot along with the bruising. The area is red now and hard as a rock but is still very tender.
Avatar n tn It arises in one foot or the other -- I do not have simultaneous pain in both appendages at once. The pain is usually in the area of the ball of the foot, but not always. It can last up to 10-15 seconds. Then it dissipates. There is no trauma-related or exercise-related component -- I have no known athletic injuries inducing pain of this kind. No past foot-related issues of any kind. No pains of this sort anywhere else in my body. Ideas?
Avatar m tn If there is redness there is probably infection. There is a problem with foot injuries because oral antibiotics generally do not have sufficient strength to deal with infections in the extremities, which often require intravenous medications. So the answer is yes, you definitely require medical attention. If the infection goes into the bones and you develop osteomyelitis you may have to have your foot amputated so this is not an insignificant issue. Go to general quarters.
