Avatar m tn hello doc i am 21 m from Punjab India i am using "Azelastine hydrochloride & Fluticasone Propionate" Nasal spray from last 3 years for my allergic nose problem , my nose gets watery and i start sneezing badly whenever it begins. So far i have tried using citrizine tablets which didn't workout for me. But Duonase the nasal spray is very effective and addicting. And i just noted that i am suffering from high blood pressure these days. I doubt it may be because of this spray.
Avatar n tn I have stuffy nose for the past 5 years right now i can hardly breath with my nose .I use Otrivin nasal drops and currently the effectiveness of this nasal drop is diminishing.
Avatar n tn Was it near your nose? I checked the official prescribing information for Veramyst (fluticasone nasal spray) and it does not specifically state that this drug is contraindicated for those with melanoma or any other cancer. However, for those with recent nasal surgery, this drug should be avoided as it delays wound healing and increases the risk of fungal (Candida) infection.
Avatar n tn I have j been to an ENT for my sinus problem (i.e addiction to nasal spray and nose blockage. He had given me antibiotics (course is over) . He has also given me flixonase (fluticasone propionate) nasal spray, a solophar mouth/throat spray (Dequalinium chloride '0.015gm, benzalkonium chloride 0.035gm, alcohol 6% by volume) and Fexet (Fexofenadine:120mg) to have for one month. My course ends round about 25 september 2011.
Avatar n tn i have had bad headhaces and pain in my nose like presure and tender to touch down each side of my face
Avatar m tn I am responding to my own question:- I asked the computer this question: Q: can fluticasone increase heart rate. The following was a link which was very interesting. Check it out. A: https://www.ehealthme.com/ds/fluticasone-propionate/heart-rate-increased/ Since reading the information, I have stopped using the nose spray. It may take awhile, but I'll see if that was causing my heartbeat concern..
Avatar n tn I'm taking amoxicillin and my cheeks are very red, like i'm sunburnt, and very hot. It's only on my cheeks no where else on my face or body. I've been givien this same medicine many times and have never had this reaction, The only other thing I can think about is I was given a corticosteroid shot and nasal spray called Fluticasone. It's not shown as a side effect of the nasal spray, but could it be from one of these other medicines. Should I call my pharmacist or doctor?
Avatar n tn i completely sympathize with your symptoms. i've been struggling with horrible nasal congestion. and now, that congestion has turned into a really bad runny nose. the minute i wake up, i have to blow my nose. but because your symptoms have been ongoing for over a month, i think you should see a specialist. if your doctor isn't recommending or suggesting that you see one, i think you should find a new doctor. i think any doctor should always have your best interest at heart.
Avatar m tn Hi, just a couple of days ago I started to have this little pain on the bridge of the nose. It' feels like if after being hit on the nose or the same feeling when your nose is about to bleed. It's not so intense, actually the pain is subtle, but bothers me a lot. I had mononucleosis some months ago and when my throat was irritated I sort of felt this for a few seconds a few times and then it just vanished and now, after almost 4 months I have this.
Avatar f tn Hi raunn, then in that case please do continue with the above said medications for a week then you can use steroid nasal spray (like fluticasone) for few months and continue antihistaminics for a few days and later you can use it whenever you are having allergic problems.
Avatar m tn Fluticasone (generic) but what really works is just over the counter Afrin which can not be used but a few nights in a row. When stuffy it is usually on one side, the low side. If I lay on my left, the left nostril is closed, and if on my right the right nostril is closed. It takes only a couple of minutes for the plug to shift sides. I do not have pain, and I think that is an indication of an infection. I suggest you see you doctor about the congestion - may be a specialist ENT.
612551 tn?1450022175 My personal interest in this Community is my chronic night time (sleep time) nasal congestion. I have tried the generic for Flonase (fluticasone) which didn't help much, not ow Astepro (not a steroid) which is a little more help, but none are as good as the over the counter Afrin (or similar) which can not be used for long periods. This congestion led me to recognize I have some trouble waking up with a suffocation sensession. .
Avatar f tn I to feel like there is a lump in my throat and that I have mucus all the time down by the esophagus. My doctors keep giving me something for sinus, even though I tell them that it feels like a lump in my throat. If I lay flat, there is a wheezing sound, I have had x rays of my chest and they are fine. I feel like I have to clear my throat all the time. What can I do. He put me on a nasal spray fluticasone.
Avatar n tn I went to my family doctor with the complaint of producing more sputum than normal for 3 years. I thought there might be something wrong with my lungs. However, I have no breathing problems. The doctor said that he was listening to my lungs with a stethoscope and that he was fine and said I don't need an X-ray. But he gave me the nasal spray medicine. When I said that there was no change after 1 week, he prescribed different drugs.
Avatar f tn azelastine and fluticasone. She also put me on Ranitidine. I also use the nedi-pod. I started feeling better, but after the 30 day supply, I began feeling it all come back. Saw GI and he put me on Dexilant 30 day supply and that did not help. I went back to ENT. She put me back on everything plus methlprednisolone (6 day). I started feeling better for a good month. Even stopped the sleeping pill. Then I started feeling it all come back. Went to ER after a weekend of suffering.
Avatar n tn I am having pretty much the same problem. I have had such severe headaches these past few months, not to mention watery right eye, cracking in my ears and can only sleep on one side because ear popping is so bad on the other side,I finally made an appointment with the ear, nose & throat doctor, who has placed me on Nasonex. I took my first spray today and it actually helped. It seems to be waring off now though. Guess time will tell.
Avatar m tn I notice that the ingredient that in Flonase is the same (fluticasone propionate) is the same one used in flonase.. It occurs to me that flonase might even work better because more of the stream of fluticasone propionate would hit the back of my throat and be swallowed, getting more to my esophagus and less to my mouth. The key point though is I can get flonase inexpensively, whereas the flovent is more than I can easily afford.
Avatar f tn The doctor gave me a steroid injection and perscribed a new nasal spray, Zetonna. This nasal spray is an aerosol powder instead of liquid. I have used it for a couple days and have noticed that the congestion has gotten worse. Shouldn't the congestion be getting better with the steroid shot and nasal spray? What would be making everything worse?
Avatar n tn It could sometimes be due to the medication. As fluticasone propionate causes irritation of the nasal mucus membranes. Other adverse events that occurr with fluticasone propionate (with uncertain relationship to treatment) include: blood in nasal mucus, runny nose, flu-like symptoms, aches and pains, and dizziness. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
Avatar m tn I am currently applying a topical steroid for a fungal infection with the treatment to finish in a few days. I have been prescribed Fluticasone Furoate Nasal Spray and the information leaflet says not to use it at the same time as topical steroids. Once I finish using the topical steroid do I need to leave a gap before starting to use the nasal spray and if so for how many days?
Avatar n tn He is allergic to dust and tree pollens. He has been to the allergy doctor who has prescribed fluticasone and certrizine. He has seen a pediatrician who has said maybe a sinus infection and given antibiotics. He also had an x-ray at the allergy doctor's office. We are going to see the ENT in two days. I don't know if it's a tic? He says he can't breathe well. His left nostril seems more clogged than the right.
Avatar m tn but for the past 1 year i am not really compliant to the nasal spray treatment because i always forgot to take it. So is the past 1 year of my nasal spray considered a risk for cataract and glaucoma?
Avatar f tn I am allergic to nine enviromental allergens and have been taking fluticasone propionate (flo-nase) for the past three monts and it's been working fine to treat sinus pressure, my only main symptom. However, since i started, i've noticed for the first time in as long as i remember that i've been getting thick nasal mucus either dark red or black, sometimes streaked and sometimes completely colored, while before it's always been thin and clear.
Avatar f tn fluticasone propionate which I used twice a day. The first 30 days of that only that seemed to help, then it seemed to help less and less, the over the counter stuff works. I will discuss again with my primary care at my physical exam next month, and perhaps go see an ENT, but from what I read here we are dealing with a very complex issue and ENT doctor's don't have all the answers either, it seems.
Avatar m tn I get a strong unpleasant odor in my nose when I inhale which, as best as I can describe, smells like a jar of water that has been standing for a very long time and then uncovered just for my benefit. It's a musty, stale and very strong odor. Unlike with atrophic rhinitis, it seems, there is no one else that can smell this- just me (thankfully!). It comes and goes year round, lasts for as long as a week then subsides for a few days.
Avatar m tn Not much change here other than the snow, but NJ got off easy compared to Norther and East of NYC. I had to shovel a path so our small dog (a Westie) could take a pee...his short legs can't reach through even 6" of snow, which is about what we got. I'm trying to reduce Afrin again. I was using it only once a day, that may not be too much but is still not recommended. As I think I mentioned I have a prescription congestion spray - cost 4 times as much and works 1/4 as well.
