I am allergic to nine enviromental allergens and have been taking fluticasone propionate (flo-nase) for the past three monts and it's been working fine to treat sinus pressure, my only main symptom. However, since i started, i've noticed for the first time in as long as i remember that i've been getting thick nasal mucus either dark red or black, sometimes streaked and sometimes completely colored, while before it's always been thin and clear.

For the past several months my nose has been driving me up the freakin' wall! It's almost always dry which leads to burning. It also always feel full like I have to constantly blow it, but when I do nothing comes out. This is gross I know, but I have to go into the bathroom and pick all of the junk out several times throughout the day. Most of the time it's kind of bloody, but I do get quite a bit of green mixed in as well.

It could sometimes be due to the medication. As fluticasone propionate causes irritation of the nasal mucus membranes. Other adverse events that occurr with fluticasone propionate (with uncertain relationship to treatment) include: blood in nasal mucus, runny nose, flu-like symptoms, aches and pains, and dizziness. I have stuffy nose for the past 5 years right now i can hardly breath with my nose .I use Otrivin nasal drops and currently the effectiveness of this nasal drop is diminishing.

I have been told by my dermatologist that I mostly have IGH but that I can wait for 3 months to make sure its not vitiligo. However, a couple of spots that have sprung up on my nose have been bothering me. They look as if they were formed after a pin sized instrument scalloped the skin. The hypopigmented spots are concave in nature and are very tine. When I stretch the skin, they do not change color and remain off-white. Can this be vitiligo or is this IGH?

This is more so with frontal sinusitis. Sinus infections can cause stuffiness of the nose with nasal blockage, which can make breathing through the nose difficult. You will need to consult your primary care physician for proper assessment. In the meantime practice good breathing exercises, humidify your room and do steam inhalations. i have a very very persistent sinus allergy. nose blocks all the time over a year now and getting worse! i have been prescribed all this **** and none of it seems to work. all i have is my nose that gets blocked so often that i have to breathe with mouth and also have a permanent sore throat. currently in indiana. If someone can give me professional advice or recommend a specialist it would be appreciated!!! As i think my condition keeps getting worse.

My personal interest in this Community is my chronic night time (sleep time) nasal congestion. I have tried the generic for Flonase (fluticasone) which didn't help much, not ow Astepro (not a steroid) which is a little more help, but none are as good as the over the counter Afrin (or similar) which can not be used for long periods. This congestion led me to recognize I have some trouble waking up with a suffocation sensession. .

Was it near your nose? I checked the official prescribing information for Veramyst (fluticasone nasal spray) and it does not specifically state that this drug is contraindicated for those with melanoma or any other cancer. However, for those with recent nasal surgery, this drug should be avoided as it delays wound healing and increases the risk of fungal (Candida) infection.

hello doc i am 21 m from Punjab India i am using "Azelastine hydrochloride & Fluticasone Propionate" Nasal spray from last 3 years for my allergic nose problem , my nose gets watery and i start sneezing badly whenever it begins. So far i have tried using citrizine tablets which didn't workout for me. But Duonase the nasal spray is very effective and addicting. And i just noted that i am suffering from high blood pressure these days. I doubt it may be because of this spray.

It's such an annoying symptom of pregnancy! My nose is stuffy all the time and when I blow it, it's always bloody. I think it's to do with the increase in blood flow to all the blood vessels etc.

A bloody nose is something common in pregnancy. I am now 35 weeks and since I was about 17 weeks I have always woken up with a bloody nose. It wasn't noticeable until I blew my nose. Its nothing to freak out about. Just apply a warm wash rag over your nose when you notice it's been hardened.
