Avatar n tn I'm taking amoxicillin and my cheeks are very red, like i'm sunburnt, and very hot. It's only on my cheeks no where else on my face or body. I've been givien this same medicine many times and have never had this reaction, The only other thing I can think about is I was given a corticosteroid shot and nasal spray called Fluticasone. It's not shown as a side effect of the nasal spray, but could it be from one of these other medicines. Should I call my pharmacist or doctor?

Avatar n tn Was it near your nose? I checked the official prescribing information for Veramyst (fluticasone nasal spray) and it does not specifically state that this drug is contraindicated for those with melanoma or any other cancer. However, for those with recent nasal surgery, this drug should be avoided as it delays wound healing and increases the risk of fungal (Candida) infection.
Avatar m tn I notice that the ingredient that in Flonase is the same (fluticasone propionate) is the same one used in flonase.. It occurs to me that flonase might even work better because more of the stream of fluticasone propionate would hit the back of my throat and be swallowed, getting more to my esophagus and less to my mouth. The key point though is I can get flonase inexpensively, whereas the flovent is more than I can easily afford.

Avatar n tn I agreem its sounds like a classic case of sinus infection and antibiotics will clear it up, but in order in prevent it getting out of control again, ask your doc about a med called Fluticasone Prorionate (Flo-naise) It will control the allergens that cause problems to begin with. See if perhaps it will help you. It is a sinus spray you use daily. Good luck and feel better!

Avatar n tn You are correct in wanting to wait until you have achieved optimum benefit from the AdvairĀ® HFA (fluticasone propionate and salmeterol) Inhalation Aerosol, before any consideration of oxygen use. The AdvairĀ® HFA (fluticasone propionate and salmeterol) Inhalation Aerosol may raise your saturation, to a degree that will make oxygen use unnecessary.

Avatar n tn However I was using nasal spray (fluticasone) for almost 1 year prior to the high readings. My eye doctor has done all the exams to check for vision loss and suggested there is little if any. He recognized there may be a connection between the nasal spray and elevated IOP. But not enough data exists to determine if this is the problem and if it will eventually go away. But as a precaution he decided to prescribe pressure reducing drops.
Avatar n tn I'm a generic guy and used for the last year a nasal spray Fluticasone Propionate - I think it is a generic version of one of those expensive patented sprays. Even generic it cost over $20 for a month's supply. I have used it twice a day for many days in a row, then not at all, then back again. I suffer from chronic congestion at night, when lying down to sleep.
Avatar f tn I am allergic to nine enviromental allergens and have been taking fluticasone propionate (flo-nase) for the past three monts and it's been working fine to treat sinus pressure, my only main symptom. However, since i started, i've noticed for the first time in as long as i remember that i've been getting thick nasal mucus either dark red or black, sometimes streaked and sometimes completely colored, while before it's always been thin and clear.
Avatar f tn The doctor gave me a steroid injection and perscribed a new nasal spray, Zetonna. This nasal spray is an aerosol powder instead of liquid. I have used it for a couple days and have noticed that the congestion has gotten worse. Shouldn't the congestion be getting better with the steroid shot and nasal spray? What would be making everything worse?
Avatar n tn I went to my family doctor with the complaint of producing more sputum than normal for 3 years. I thought there might be something wrong with my lungs. However, I have no breathing problems. The doctor said that he was listening to my lungs with a stethoscope and that he was fine and said I don't need an X-ray. But he gave me the nasal spray medicine. When I said that there was no change after 1 week, he prescribed different drugs.
Avatar f tn Before my surgery I had a blocked sinus cavity that I was unaware of but my ns saw it on one of my mri's. The entire prescribed fluticasone nasal spray. As soon as I started it, my snoring stopped which was a pleasant side affect, especially for my dh! Even tho the sinus is long since cleared, dh reminds me every day to use the spray lol. I don't have sleep apnea so I don't know if this would help, but I thought it was interesting. .

Avatar n tn i completely sympathize with your symptoms. i've been struggling with horrible nasal congestion. and now, that congestion has turned into a really bad runny nose. the minute i wake up, i have to blow my nose. but because your symptoms have been ongoing for over a month, i think you should see a specialist. if your doctor isn't recommending or suggesting that you see one, i think you should find a new doctor. i think any doctor should always have your best interest at heart.
Avatar f tn I to feel like there is a lump in my throat and that I have mucus all the time down by the esophagus. 612551 tn?1450022175 My personal interest in this Community is my chronic night time (sleep time) nasal congestion. I have tried the generic for Flonase (fluticasone) which didn't help much, not ow Astepro (not a steroid) which is a little more help, but none are as good as the over the counter Afrin (or similar) which can not be used for long periods. This congestion led me to recognize I have some trouble waking up with a suffocation sensession. .
