7993104 tn?1396090856 Since my post, I went to see my doctor who tested me for asthma as she suspected the same. Fortunately for me, asthma was not my culprit. I live in a dry climate and using the oxygen dried me out a little too much and exacerbated my allergies. I never thought to connect the two since the oxygen was so new for me. Anyway -I am getting a 'bubbler?' to add a little moisture to the oxygen machine and am also taking Flonase.
Avatar f tn Flonase is a potent synthetic corticosteroid often prescribed as treatment for asthma and allergic rhinitis. It is not really recommended nor needed to treat foliculitis. ref:http://en.wikipedia.
Avatar m tn Hi there, I have a similar condition where if my post nasal drip start my asthma starts and I was on Flonase, Singular, Claritin and nothing Seems to work.. have you been treated yet?
Avatar n tn I generally take Flonase. About a week ago the allergies and sinuses really got a hold of me and i had horrible sinus pressure, felt really spacey, had ear fullness and pain, felt a little off but no ear infection. I got put on a antibiotic. I then just started the Flonase back up. One day i felt short of breath off and on. I also took a Zyrtec. I almost went to the hospital because i felt bad and felt like my allergies/ sinuses were causing it. I also have anxiety.
454221 tn?1259445739 Chronic Chlamydia infection has been implicated in instances of asthma, relatively refractory to asthma therapy, but the odds are that the Chlamydia is not a factor; either in your asthma or as a cause of tonsillar enlargement. Our advice remains the same. That unilateral tonsillar enlargement, especially in the presence of negative bacterial cultures, is rarely on the basis of allergy, and should be approached in the same way as any other mass in the body.
Avatar f tn thank you for your response! i think my dr. ruled out bronchial asthma because i can breathe just fine through my mouth. for example, i can take deep breathes just fine through my mouth. it is when i try to breathe and take deep breathes through my nose that i cannot without awkwardness and discomfort. my nose is runny and full of crap. my dr. told me to take zyrtec, flonase and do the neti pod.
Avatar m tn Suffering with cough, chest tightness, wheezing and difficulty in breathing? These symptoms are generally referred to Asthma. Asthma is a chronic disorder, it affects the airways that carry air to and from your lungs. Sometimes asthma blocks the airways such that oxygen fails to enter the lungs at the time patient may require urgent hospitalization. Asthma can start at an any age. It cause mainly due to infections of chest, smoking and dust, allergies to animals, genetics.
7003050 tn?1390124013 No. I use a Netty pot with sterile/preboiled water to decrease the symptoms. Went to see my Ob and allergist. I'm continuing my claratin and singular. Allergist changed flonase to rhinocort (super expensive). They want me to avoid triggering another bad asthma attack. That can be harmful to baby. Hope you feel better.
Avatar f tn I have a good allergist/asthma dr. who has proven trustworthy on recommendations for things I can do at home to help myself. That has been a big help.
Avatar m tn I can ride a bike at a reasonable pace or jog slightly faster than a walk but anything above that I feel my chest tightening and feel like im about to pass out. I have had every test possible for asthma and they all say negative. I've also had a heart echo and a stress echo both of which showed nothing wrong. Im currently on advair, singular, and flonase and with them I dont ever have these symptoms unless im doing any heavy activity. My doctors dont have a clue.
746512 tn?1388807580 I was tested for allergies before christmas and came back positive for cats and mild positive for dust mites (yes I do own 2 cats who aren't going anywhere).
Avatar f tn My son started this noise over 6 months ago. At first we thought he was clearing his throat but the dcotor called it a cough, as he's inhaling before it happens. She heard a wheeze in his chest and is sending him to a pediatrician. She's thinking asthma, but I've never heard anything like it. Fast forward to 0:45 and 1:30 in the video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?
Avatar f tn Those issues include depression, increasing fatigue, adult onset asthma, elevated triglycerides (hyperlipidemia) and others. I simply thought my body was aging, especially since I'm menopausal and have not had a monthly cycle in 2 years. Oh, I was diagnosed about 15 years ago with PMDD; always had PMS but it became untenable. I currently do not have the results of my bloodwork.
Avatar m tn t call off but once or twice a year if that i have a question i have been really healthy never had much breathing problems sense right before Easter when i had really bad acid reflex had a stuffy nose off on over the winter thought it was from dairy products or might have been a side effect from the otc prilosec i was taking because i stopped the dairy and stopped taking the otc prilosec not knowing that it would have a rebound effect acid kept coming up in my throat when i was sleeping would c
Avatar f tn I had to spend 300 on a HEPA vacume cleaner, get a HEPA air filter for my house, buy an asthma friendly complete bed cover, get pillow covers for ALL pillow's on my bed, shower (or at least rinse off) at night, drink caffeine in the morning (proven to help short term with asthma symptoms), put cheese cloth on all of my vents in my house, get rid of some of my pets that are not asthmatic friendly, etc. Now it is in control! But my cleaning regime is insane!
Avatar m tn I used flonase for a week and got better with my cough and then I stopped. Afterwards my cough came back and I saw a doctor and he told me do not use flonase which makes me cough. I am confused?
Avatar f tn I am on amoxicyllin for last 8 days now and also taking Flonase and singulair for asthma, I get 100-101 fever every evening. My CBC is normal and my doctor is not worried about my fever and thinks its because of sinus and allergies.
Avatar f tn My sister takes Singulair and she hasn't had any issues with it.
Avatar f tn My son is 5. Back in the spring he started making this really loud noise, a cross between a throat clear and a cough. It lasted a couple months, got better. Then this summer, it came back. Somedays are worse than others. We tried allergy meds (Flonase and Claritin) and it didn't get any better. We were back to the doctor who listened to his chest and said that she could hear a definite wheeze.
Avatar m tn He also prescribed singulair, prednisone(10 mg for 7 days), flonase, antibiotic, and some cough syrup and mucinex. The prednisone helped with the pain but didnt make it completely go away. So Im not sure what my next step should be. This has been going on for a several months now and doesnt seem to be getting any better.
Avatar f tn At this time I was put on 3 different heavy antibiotics for a total of 5 weeks( told I had a bad respiratory infection) , sent for bloodwork and a heart eeg, sent for allergy testing and sent for a chest and sinus X-rays and given an inhaler to help with the wheezing( I cannot recall which kind it was). The chest X-ray came back clear but the sinus X-rays were "atrocious " which led to a referral for a ct scan.
454221 tn?1259445739 Thanks. Back in the winter of 05 I got my first sinus infection and they did a head scan not a scan of my sinuses, but it showed blockage in several areas. I have been put on claritin, zyrtec, flonase, and zantac. But have stop most of them temporarily for the skin test on the 6th. I'm hoping the ct scan of my sinuses will give me more answers. I will let you know an update in August. Thanks again.
Avatar n tn My (3rd) family doctor want me to see a pulmonologist but I swear its not my lungs. I have been told, bronchitis, reactive airway disease and asthma but nothing for sure just "possibly". I will give you the run down.. symptoms runny nose, watery/itchy eyes, sore throat, ear pain, horrible pressure on my palette, constant swallowing and a cough that is now considered chronic that is productive of clear phlegm and is formed in tiny balls/maggots?
Avatar n tn Do you have any food allergies? Have you considered allergy shots for pets, etc? Hopefully this helps. Good luck fellow asthma sufferer!
Avatar n tn A They put her on flonase but she is not using today. Shes been tested for asthma recently and everything came up negative. The first few episodes we took her to Children's Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA - They diagnosed her with vocal chord dysfunction. When we took her to ENT he removed her tonsils & adnoids and told her she didn't have the vocal chord issue. It's very frustrating. We have an appt. w/ her ENT for evaluation again on these reocurring episodes.
Avatar f tn Yes it was the skin test. I'm severely allergic to dogs, cats, trees, pollen, etc. Whatever they tested me for I was allergic to it. I couldn't believe it. The pulmicort is for asthma. When they did the breathing test, they found I have asthma. I heard about the sinus rinse. I will give that a try. I just never knew that allergies can give you all these problems. Now I just need to know my seasons....Thank you for all your suggestions. You have been very helpful.
464237 tn?1315670793 t want the infection to get even worse. How is it ok to use flonase for bacterial infection? Have any of you used flonase for infection. My infection is not allergy related, it came from a cold that was going around. Thanks so much for reading. and yes I have been using nasal irrigation along with all of the other home remedies I have found on the internet.
