flomax

1580703 tn?1651904887 I was given cipro and Flomax for pelvic pain and a UTI. the pain was through the whole pelvis and also individual veins or spermatic cord. does Flomax permanently shrink your prostate or reduce testosterone levels? I read one forum where people where saying they had a permanent loss of strength, could not throw the discus as far?
Avatar m tn maybe Flomax only helps if you have a UTI though to better flush infected urine out? it seems though that the semen will empty into the bladder then and be flushed out of your system instead of going to the urethra so I don't know if that is good or not? I've read of long term loss of STRENGTH on Flomax and possible sexual dysfunction.
Avatar f tn I'm 33 year old male, I was diagnosed with phimosis 2yrs ago. I've been having the constant urge to urinate but with only a low flow and sometimes spraying. I've been through testing for uti, std, bladder cancer (cystoscopy) but yet know one can give me an answer as to why I always have the urge. I've taken meds (flomax, oxybutynin, and diptromin) none of them worked. Help!!! I'm to young for this to be happening.
Avatar n tn Had some crazy stress for 3-4 years and then suddenly I had severe UTI. After the UTI, my urinary pressure (tried urologist who said prostate seems ok and gave me flomax), Now I also dont get sexually excited. I feel less sensation around the tip of my penis. Is this due to the intense stress (non stop) for 4-5yrs?
Avatar n tn I have what they call Neurogenic bladder. Probably very close to your description. Sometimes I have to concentrate to enpty my bladder, but if I can't go, I can self-cath. If it is done under the hygenic conditions, infections can be avoided. This is something you need to discuss with your doctor, so he can see if you need some medication. There are things out there for people like us that can help. Good Luck to you and happy peeing, when you can go...
Avatar f tn Yes, when I have a stone or stones, I'll have a much more frequent urge to urinate than when I don't have a stone. I've also experienced a very slight burning sensation at times with a stone too. Are you on anything like Flomax? I've noticed a more frequent urge since I've been taking Flomax too. Not sure if that's the Flomax, or just my age coming into play.LOL!
Avatar m tn Most 3mm UVJ stones pass without surgery, and Flomax and fluids are all you can do. If it has not passed, the treatment of choice would probably be ureteroscopy, an endoscopic procedure to break up and remove the stone.
Avatar n tn It sounds like you have a UTI or a bladder infection. Flowmax should work within a couple/few hours, although it varies. You need to drink a TON of liquids (caffeine free) and flush your system. The flowmax isn't just going to magically make you pee... you need to give it liquids TO pee. Good luck to you. LMNO *Get your doctor to do a urinalysis and check for infection. Not being able to pee, or only 'drops' coming out is a clear sign of infection, at the very least.
Avatar f tn I thought I was getting a UTI, so I started my macrobid with the intensions of following up with my reg doctor the next day. That night I woke up in excrutiating pain feeling like I had to pee, (the same feeling you get when you have a UTI like if I could pee it would feel better, not like oh my bladders full kind of feeling) went to go pee and could hardly get any urine out.
Avatar n tn It lasted for like a week so I went to a urologist and he did a urine test, looked at the tip of my penis and provided me a prescription for flomax. I got better with the flomax but now 6 months after exposure the urgency to urinate has come back. Do you think I need to retest for std's I have not had any unprotected sex or any sex for that matter since my last oral sex encounter.
Avatar n tn So I actually used two applications (500 MCG), and it gave me a UTI. The physician feared priapism and gave me the low dosage. Was the use of the application twice dangerous to the urethra? Should I try a 1000MCG? I am not sure about the carvaject injections? I actually heard a high risk of priapism.
Avatar n tn After a clean x-ray they diagnosed me with a UTI and gave me a three day antibiotic. I go wishes the antibiotic and still had severe left flank pain and nausea so went to the ER. The ER doctor was upset they didn't do a CT scan so he ordered one and I find out I had two kidney stones a 3x2mm in my left kidney and a 5x3mm in my right kidneys. Non obstructive and still in the kidneys in the lower pole. I was told I was at risk for them getting bigger.
Avatar m tn I did not associate it with flomax until recently. Is it harmful if I stop taking the flomax and is this the cause of my retro? This discussion is related to Retrograde Ejaculation from Flomax......permanent or not?.
Avatar m tn t know how that could be. He prescribed flomax, and I have been on it ever since. Flomax helps a little, but I still have urgency. Also, like Jbrooks, my symptoms are amplified after a bowel movement. No one can explain what is going on. I also noticed that when my symptoms are the worst, my urine is almost clear like water and I pass a decent amount of urine. It has a peculiar smell as well. So, here I am with no answers.
Avatar m tn While taking Flomax or Proscar, does this have an effect on getting HARD.
Avatar m tn I am suffering from UTI for last three months. USG results a 4.9 mm stone in lower pole of left kidney. Doctor advised me to take DISTONE (2 Tab 8Hrly).
Avatar m tn Flomax can reduce the amouht of seman that you produce. It would be unusual though to have this production reduced down to zero unless the man was ejaculating very often. In general terms Flomax is a useful medication with very few side-effects..
Avatar n tn , where normal for him means slow urination due to long standing BHP, but not as slow, painful, and dribbling as with Flomax. We are just guessing that the way Flomax works by relaxing muscles is causing these effects. (Could the enlarged prostate end up pressing even more on muscles?? I realize these are just guesses: I have looked at a lot of medical sites, but this does not look like to be listed as a side effect!
Avatar n tn If you are having some difficulties with urination, you can be treated with Flomax. I had been taking Flomax from about 1995 till 2008. In 2008 after having had a severe kidney infection and pneumonia, I discovered that I have a fistula between my rectum and prostate. From March 2008 up to now I have lived with a catheter. Therefore ther is no need for the Flomax at this time. I'm 4 months away from being 47. I hope that you will be able to get this under control. All the best.
Avatar m tn light headness after cataract surgery and Dr was told about Flomax of which I am still on 2 years later
Avatar n tn He takes 5 mg blood pressure med and he takes Flomax daily. When he first started taking Flomax; which he needs to be able to urinate or as he says to keep his plumbing working, anyway, he would have dizzy spells. His doctor said this was normal, a side effect of Flomax. But now lately he has been passing out; I think that is unusual for any medication and I'm worried there may be something else going on.
Avatar m tn Can flomax have impact on your sleeping behavior.
16335396 tn?1461333696 Urethritis need not necessarily be caused by STI. There is a condition called non-specific urethritis which is non infectious and just comes out of the blue.
