Avatar m tn Hi, Thanks for writing in. Prostatitis is usually not a side effect of use of flomax, indeed it can happen due to BPH, for which flomax is used as treatment. It would be better to get prostrate examination done by a urologist and take opinion for surgery for resolving these symptoms. Choice of antibiotics depends upon the kind of organism affecting the prostrate. Best.
Avatar f tn Following. I have same issue, m 41 , all my Dr has done is gave me flow meds. Might as well use AZO bladder releif. I have MS which affects my nerves + low back issues. I'm at a loss. All he has said is if the Flomax doesn't help he can add a prostate med. Never has checked.
Avatar m tn I did not associate it with flomax until recently. Is it harmful if I stop taking the flomax and is this the cause of my retro? This discussion is related to Retrograde Ejaculation from Flomax......permanent or not?.
Avatar m tn While taking Flomax or Proscar, does this have an effect on getting HARD.
1580703 tn?1651904887 I was given cipro and Flomax for pelvic pain and a UTI. the pain was through the whole pelvis and also individual veins or spermatic cord. does Flomax permanently shrink your prostate or reduce testosterone levels? I read one forum where people where saying they had a permanent loss of strength, could not throw the discus as far?
Avatar m tn Flomax can reduce the amouht of seman that you produce. It would be unusual though to have this production reduced down to zero unless the man was ejaculating very often. In general terms Flomax is a useful medication with very few side-effects..
Avatar f tn A good thyroid doctor will treat a hypo patient clinically by testing and adjusting Free T4 and Free T3 levels as needed to relieve symptoms, without being constrained by resultant TSH. However, you may well need to address your low cortisol before even starting on thyroid med. I would suggest that you get tested for Both Free T4 and Free T3 each time you go in for tests. Also, you should get tested for Vitamin D, B12, ferritin, and DHEA.
Avatar n tn , where normal for him means slow urination due to long standing BHP, but not as slow, painful, and dribbling as with Flomax. We are just guessing that the way Flomax works by relaxing muscles is causing these effects. (Could the enlarged prostate end up pressing even more on muscles?? I realize these are just guesses: I have looked at a lot of medical sites, but this does not look like to be listed as a side effect!
Avatar n tn I have what they call Neurogenic bladder. Probably very close to your description. Sometimes I have to concentrate to enpty my bladder, but if I can't go, I can self-cath. If it is done under the hygenic conditions, infections can be avoided. This is something you need to discuss with your doctor, so he can see if you need some medication. There are things out there for people like us that can help. Good Luck to you and happy peeing, when you can go...
Avatar m tn light headness after cataract surgery and Dr was told about Flomax of which I am still on 2 years later
Avatar n tn He takes 5 mg blood pressure med and he takes Flomax daily. When he first started taking Flomax; which he needs to be able to urinate or as he says to keep his plumbing working, anyway, he would have dizzy spells. His doctor said this was normal, a side effect of Flomax. But now lately he has been passing out; I think that is unusual for any medication and I'm worried there may be something else going on.
Avatar m tn Can flomax have impact on your sleeping behavior.
Avatar m tn i am having tachycardia, chestpain after using flomax - only second pill how long can take the side effects considering that i stopped taking flowmax 36 hours
Avatar m tn I have been using finesteride instead of flomax for the last 4 month.
Avatar n tn I've taken flomax for several years, and want to undergo cataract surgery. What should I expect? This discussion is related to Cataract surgery and Flomax.
Avatar n tn I have been experiencing retrograde ejaculation from taking Flomax and Uroxatral for several years. Will normal ejaculation return if I stop the medication? How long will it take?
Avatar f tn Thanks for your prompt response. My dad has been taking Flomax for a few years. His ophthamologist told him that he should do the Laser PI before the cataract surgery. We were very worried as we don't want to have unnecessary complication from the PI sine his eye pressure is normal and the PI was just for prevention. Do you think we should seek another specialist? We live in Toronto.
Avatar n tn s from the Flomax my husband takes and that it will take longer for his vision to clear.(the Dr. was aware of the flomax before surg.) What has been your experience with this troublesome outcome? My husband is very discouraged.
Avatar n tn Things that they tried for me include medications like Flomax and Detrol LA. These meds give relieve on some areas but does not really deal with the prostatitis. One thing that gives me some relief at times is a hot bath. I'm sorry but I'm afraid that there is no real treatment option other than trial and error. I used to work as a heavy duty mechanic and I had many sleepless nights causing me to mis work due to the discomfort as well as being tired.
Avatar m tn My urine is always clean. I was given flomax but refuse to take it because of ejaculate going backwards and might faint. What can I do to solve this? I usually go to acupuncture but this pandemic is closing everything.
