Flomax type drugs

Common Questions and Answers about Flomax type drugs

flomax

Avatar m tn No do not change your medicines if Flomax works. Even if you stopped or switched to another type you could still have floppy iris syndrome. If it works keep on it and tell your eye surgeon. Special techniques and instruments and drops make FIS not the problem it use to be when we first saw it.
Avatar f tn Ultimately, flomax and drugs like uroxatral can be combined to give maximal medical therapy for BPH. Sometimes men continue to have problems and may be candidates for surgical intervention to improve symptoms. Frequently, larger prostates can elevate PSA and lead to biopsy. While there is the possibility that your biopsy will yield cancer, it is likely that the increase in PSA is due to benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH).
Avatar m tn Im such an idiot) I didnt know if there may be another cause or another type of STD I wasnt tested for or if in fact I am still having residual effects from Prostatis?
Avatar m tn My urine is always clean. I was given flomax but refuse to take it because of ejaculate going backwards and might faint. What can I do to solve this? I usually go to acupuncture but this pandemic is closing everything.
Avatar m tn I have been on this medicine (together with a double dose of Flomax) for the past two years. I have noticed a definite improvement in urinary symptoms (fewer trips to the bathroom, better flow), but it has wreaked havoc with my sex life (no erections, no ejaculation). I would like to quit, but am afraid that the effects of quitting might be worse than the ones I am currently experiencing. I am 69 years old.
233622 tn?1279334905 Hi LA I don't know anything about Flomax but I'm glad to hear it is going well with the Betaseron. I have been using it since August last year and have no regrets.
Avatar m tn I did not associate it with flomax until recently. Is it harmful if I stop taking the flomax and is this the cause of my retro? This discussion is related to Retrograde Ejaculation from Flomax......permanent or not?.
Avatar m tn While taking Flomax or Proscar, does this have an effect on getting HARD.
1580703 tn?1651904887 I was given cipro and Flomax for pelvic pain and a UTI. the pain was through the whole pelvis and also individual veins or spermatic cord. does Flomax permanently shrink your prostate or reduce testosterone levels? I read one forum where people where saying they had a permanent loss of strength, could not throw the discus as far?
Avatar m tn Flomax can reduce the amouht of seman that you produce. It would be unusual though to have this production reduced down to zero unless the man was ejaculating very often. In general terms Flomax is a useful medication with very few side-effects..
Avatar n tn , where normal for him means slow urination due to long standing BHP, but not as slow, painful, and dribbling as with Flomax. We are just guessing that the way Flomax works by relaxing muscles is causing these effects. (Could the enlarged prostate end up pressing even more on muscles?? I realize these are just guesses: I have looked at a lot of medical sites, but this does not look like to be listed as a side effect!
Avatar m tn light headness after cataract surgery and Dr was told about Flomax of which I am still on 2 years later
Avatar m tn Hi, Thanks for writing in. Prostatitis is usually not a side effect of use of flomax, indeed it can happen due to BPH, for which flomax is used as treatment. It would be better to get prostrate examination done by a urologist and take opinion for surgery for resolving these symptoms. Choice of antibiotics depends upon the kind of organism affecting the prostrate. Best.
Avatar m tn When you have BPH, the flow from the bladder and prostate are greatly restricted and usually force the ejaculate into the bladder. Flomax helps reduce the size of the prostate and permits freer flowing urine. If you discontinue use of Flomax, your voiding would be more difficult and leave residuals in your bladder setting you up for some ugly uti's in the future and you would still have a retrograde ejaculation.
Avatar n tn He takes 5 mg blood pressure med and he takes Flomax daily. When he first started taking Flomax; which he needs to be able to urinate or as he says to keep his plumbing working, anyway, he would have dizzy spells. His doctor said this was normal, a side effect of Flomax. But now lately he has been passing out; I think that is unusual for any medication and I'm worried there may be something else going on.
Avatar m tn Can flomax have impact on your sleeping behavior.
Avatar f tn My husband had cataract surgery onTuesday, Oct. 7th he had been on flomax but stopped using it a week before surgery. Has cloudy vision could not see anything but a haze day after surgery when patch was taken off. Doctor said there were complications, surgery took almost 2 hours. We are putting the 3 recommended drops in his eye 4 times a day, per doctors change in instructions. Has a revisit scheduled for Friday and Monday.
Avatar m tn I am 65 and have had the same occurence for about 4 years but I decided it was not important. I am not attempting to impregnate my wife (smile) so the amount of semen/ejaculate does not concern me. Moreover, as long as my wife is happy and I feel good about my sexual performance its all good. Don't worry about it, or go see a urologist. I did read that use of drugs like Flomax for urinary issues will often decrease semen amount.
574118 tn?1305135284 started to have more urge for urination during night. My doc wrote omnic (flomax or tamuslusin) 0.4 mg. I got all the side effects (stuffy nose, put on weight, back pain, more urge to urinate, ache in penis and bladder, etc....) I wonder would it be better to do an operation. my doc says drug is better than operation, that I should continue on the drug fearing of obstruction one day.
Avatar m tn i am having tachycardia, chestpain after using flomax - only second pill how long can take the side effects considering that i stopped taking flowmax 36 hours
Avatar m tn I have been using finesteride instead of flomax for the last 4 month.
Avatar m tn rekhanil Apr 27, 2013 To: S. Kaul, MD Thank you very much for your response.Unfortunately my Urologist has stopped drugs & advised only to go for Surgery, even though urgency is not envisaged. I consulted my physician who in turn prescribed Veltam tablet-one at night & Himplasia one tablet in the morning,to continue for a month & then stop to assess any improvement. I have no choice but to wait & watch. My enlargement is external and don't expect sudden problem.
Avatar m tn I have a very good friend who has an enlarged prostate and he takes a medication called "Flomax". This seems to help him a lot. Maybe mention it to your doctor as a possibility for you----- or change doctors! It's your life we are talking about here and the quality of your life. There is no reason for needless suffering in my opinion.
Avatar n tn I've taken flomax for several years, and want to undergo cataract surgery. What should I expect? This discussion is related to Cataract surgery and Flomax.
