1460652 tn?1340248730 has anyone ever had pvcs/pacs while on the muscle relaxant flexeril? for the last couple of months my constant pvcs have been actually somewhat manageable, or at least tolerable. then i was involved in a car accident and was prescribed flexeril 7 days ago. the palps started 30 mins after the first pill. i just thought it was stress from the accident and "oh great, the skips are back"...until they became debilitating, and my bp dropped to 90/50, where as it is usually 115/75.
Avatar f tn Alcohol and flexeril are both central nervous system suppressants and consuming alcohol while taking flexeril compounds the drowsiness, confused thinking, respiratory suppression of the muscle relaxant. Flexeril/alcohol combos are frequent causes of accidental overdose. I would avoid the alcohol while taking the flexeril completely. If you already were consuming alcohol, I would skip the flexeril for at least 12 hours or more, depending upon how much alcohol you consumed.
Avatar m tn Is there a muscle relaxant patch (I'm thinking like a flexeril patch, etc.) If not, is there a muscle relaxant cream.
Avatar m tn Flexeril is a muscle relaxant, not a medication for nerve pain.
Avatar f tn Both Flexeril and Zanaflex are muscle relaxants with Zanaflex having a shorter duration of action than Flexeril. At times a combination of a long acting relaxant is given with a short acting one for proper control of spasticity. Whether you need both or not can be decided only by your treating doctor based on your symptoms and response to drugs. Take care!
Avatar f tn Flexeril is a muscle relaxant. Sweetie, I would ask your doctor about something like that before taking anything. You never know if you will have a reaction to a medication and if it was not prescribed to you and you received it from someone else that person could potentially be in trouble with the law. I do not believe Flexeril is addictive. But, please call your doctor instead. That's just my two cents! WTG for being clean from vicodin for 3 weeks!!! AWESOME!!!
Avatar m tn Flexeril is a muscle relaxant thats often prescribed for muscle stiffness and pain. I have never heard of it for restless legs.
2932946 tn?1344722012 Zanaflex is my 3rd muscle relaxant that I've been on. The one thing I like about it is that it doesn't make me as sleepy as other ones. I worked really well for me in the beginning but after 1 1/2 yrs taking it unfortunately its not as effective as it was. I hope you have success with it!
1415174 tn?1453243103 Hi again has anyone tried Flexeril (muscle relaxant)? Any bad side effects and did it help pain , I have I guess myofascial pain. Any trouble with withdrawal gettnig off of it?
Avatar f tn I feel like I need a quick fix short term till the pristiq kick in. Would I benefit from diazapam or some form of muscle relaxant??
Avatar m tn I have used it is the past as a muscle relaxant and found it fairly effect. However it was not as effective as cyclobenzaprine (Flexeril) for muscle spasms. Frequent warm baths go hand and hand with these drugs, at least in my humble opinion. I hope this information is helpful. Please keep us posted on how you are doing.
Avatar m tn Have you tried a muscle relaxant? Also, is Physical Therapy effective? Often, stretching and strengthening are the best treatment for back muscle pain, in the absence of any disease of the lumbar spine. Other treatments for lumbago are ice and hot baths, or topical analgesic creams or patches.
Avatar f tn Not sure you're right about taking two or more of these can cause it. Two of the drugs affect serotonin, but only trazadone does this primarily. However, any of these drugs by themselves (not including melatonin, which is not a drug and is one of the safest supplements ever studied) could cause all of your side effects and the combination wouldn't be appealing to me.
Avatar m tn Hey there! Half way through Day 6 here too. If it wasn't for back stiffness, I'd feel awesome. The one thing that has helped me sleep is Flexeril, it's a non-addictive muscle relaxant usually prescribed to treat muscle spasm (so it helps with RLS too). Valium didn't help me sleep more than 2-3 hours, but with the Flexeril, I've slept 8 hours. I know I saw a couple other posters say it worked for them too.
Avatar m tn The doctor prescribed him, Flexeril, a muscle relaxant. He took the pills for 3 weeks like the doctor suggested. Two days after he stopped taking the Flexeril he started to experience withdrawal like symptoms. Unusual thoughts, dry mouth, numb lips, mood swings, confusion, etc. He had his wife call 911 because he thought he was having a stroke.
Avatar f tn Were you vitamin D deficient beforehand? The info I found says muscle twitching and musculoskeletal pain were linked to deficiency, but not spasms. I suspect it might be insufficient treatment of the dystonia. You should talk to your doctor about it. Maybe talk to someone in physical medicine and rehabilitation if you haven't already--they might know more about treating you. Flexeril might help with the sleep, since it's a muscle relaxant and rather sedative.
Avatar m tn Another muscle spasm/relaxant that is non-addictive is Baclofen. Soma CAN be abused.....I abused it and always missed it when I couldn't get my hands on any. If you are in recovery.....my counsel would be to stay FAR away from Soma.
1415174 tn?1453243103 That helped before. He seems to think it is Myofascial. I tried the Flexeril muscle relaxant last night and the night before. The first night helped a lot and no side effects since I take it at night. But, today it still hurts and so it doesn't do the whole job. I was hoping it would help more. Well, take care and thanks for your input.
1401023 tn?1280781358 I took Flexeril (10mg 3x day) for thoracic muscle spasms, my muscles lock up and it is very painful. Yesterday 15 min after my dose and 3 hrs after the dose of my other meds, I had a severe anxiety attack and landed in the ER. It started that I couldn't get a deep satisfying breath, so I called my husband to take me to the ER. By the time he got here my fingers and toes were numb so I had him take me to the ER.
Avatar f tn The generic name is Cyclobenzaprine. It is a muscle relaxant and relieves the muscle spasm when the spasm is due to the muscle itself and not the nerves that control the muscle. It can only be used short term together with rest and physical therapy and can only be used for two to three weeks. It also interacts with other medications. I suffer with osteoarthritis in most of my joints and have problems every day, so I do understand what you are going through.
Avatar n tn t lie still in the bed. My doctor had prescribed me Soma for muscle spasm which I had been taking 1 each night before bedtime. Its a great relaxant but I cut them out too (completely) when I started tapering off the Roxicet. Would it be ok to take one at bedtime to help with the sleeplessness or am I backsliding? Is a muscle relaxer considered as bad as a narcodic?
Avatar f tn t get much reduction in pain until they started an antispasmodic (Baclofen) plus a skeletal muscle relaxant (like Flexeril, Norfelx, Zanafelx) plus Valium at night. The common warning applies: Just because I have MS, doesn't mean that every ache and pain is from the MS. I can still break a bone or twist an ankle or pull a muscle. Not every ache and pain is from MS.
1943759 tn?1324045251 s and get a muscle relaxant like Flexeril. If it only lasts for a few days you can have him take Tramadol or Vicadin (but only for a few days). If the pain is there for long perioids of time then drugs that help neuropathies like neurontin or Lyrica may help. I don't usually recommend physical therapy but after the has gone down and if it is disk decompression there are some stretching exercises he can do daily that will help with the decompression.
Avatar f tn No I didnt want to take any pain meds, try a hot water bottle, or a warm bath first if it doesnt help then speak to your doc about what is safe!
Avatar m tn why is he having muscle spasms? I have taken flexeril and soma for many many years..( never that many at a time) I would think if his spasms are severe enough to do that he would go to a dr. or the ER. I hope he is ok....but the guy neeeds help and only a dr can do it....It may be from a chemical imbalance that he is getting the spasms...and no muscle relaxer will do anything for that long term.
Avatar f tn I was prescribed Flexeril (a muscle relaxer) today for my back pain. I am 37 weeks. Has anyone else taken muscle relaxers and did you have any issues with it?
Avatar m tn i have a ten month old child which makes it hard for me to carry around and even to sleep, on friday i went to the doctor she suggested a muscle relaxant which i cannot take because it causes me to go to sleep and i cant just sleep all the time when i have a child to take care of, i dont have alot of people to help me either, my boyfriend works all day, my parents are alcoholics so they are the last people i will leave my child with, my mother in law lives in north carolina and my sister has a
