Flexeril with oxycodone

Common Questions and Answers about Flexeril with oxycodone

flexeril

Avatar m tn I have had back problems since I was in my teens (now in 40's) and have been in a few rear end collisions. I had been seeing Chiropractors and physical therapy doctors for years. 2 years ago the pain became unbearable and I saw a medical doctor. Anyway after multiple referals and doctors I had a sinal fusion last October with a Laminecomy, they also found a break in my spine which they fixed.
10913038 tn?1424227711 m sitting here in agony with a pill in my hand debating whether or not to take it. Has anyone else taken it during pregnancy and had any issues related to it?
Avatar m tn Anyway I am already on Valium (for years) and Lamitctal However the ER doc prescribe oxycodone, flexeril, and for some reason ativan? Which I kept telling them i don't understand since i am already on 20mg valiums? They kept saying they will ask and the Doctor said she would update my med information but when i got home I saw they did not update any information and she wrote to take all 3 with no comment on the valium i already been on for years?
1401023 tn?1280781358 m so sorry! I took flexeril for a few months along with oxycodone and I never gad anything like that happen. I hope you feel better today!
Avatar f tn My doctor also gave me a prescription for Hydrocodone Acetaminophen to take instead of the Oxycodone for when I was ready. I tried to replace the Oxycodone with the Hydrocodone but it gave me tremendous nausea and terrible anxiety the one day I took it...I almost had a panic attack in the middle of the night and thought my husband was going to have to cal 911! Does anyone have a suggestion for the best way I can wean off the meds?
1445257 tn?1289276926 I take flexeril and I find it does help. I have muscle spasms all the time, though, and have taken muscle relaxers for pain for a while. Flexeril does knock most people out and like everything affects everyone differently. It could be a rebound headache from the diaudid. If you have stopped taking the percoset, it's likely that as well. Stopping the percoset also could have been the cause of the muscle spasms. Have you ever had an MRI of your spine?
Avatar f tn I knew then he was addicted to the oxycodone. I have had to stay home from work with him for this whole week. He is not too bad during the daytime, but nighttime is terrible. I can't leave him alone at night. I have not been getting much sleep myself for fear he will do something he doesn't realize he is doing. I have taken him to our Dr. and he prescribed Ativan. I have been giving this to him like prescribed. I was wondering how long these very long nights will occur.
5597890 tn?1370629516 ve obviously built up a tolerance to pain meds. I noticed withdrawals when trying to stop the oxycodone even with the patch on. I assume I will be on this stuff for another 2 + months. Increased to 50 fentanyl patch 12 hours later no relief. I started smoking pot, legally. Got my card. But can't be on pain management and smoke. Can anyone explain these patches? What relief should I expect? Withdrawals from both?
1943759 tn?1324045251 If he doesnt want opiates but can get scripts then neurontin might help. It helps with nerve pain. I take it as I have nerve damage in my spine. I also take oxycodone and the 2 of them work well together for me.
Avatar f tn of Flexeril....I was prescribed 1 - 2 5 mg. tabs three times daily to deal with spasms. Since insurance would not approve the extended release flexeril, I had to stay with the generic and was told BY MY DOC to take 2 tabs 3 times daily for the spasms. I am also prescribed Dilaudid (2 mg. up to 4 times per day), but I don't use more than 1 per day now....pain is not so bad...just the spasms -- especially after PT!!!
Avatar f tn t work for me, however, it works quite well for my dad (who has a back problem with muscle spasms). Flexeril works pretty well for me, but like you, it makes me VERY sleepy. My prescription for it calls for three a day - but believe me, if I were to take 3 in a day, I wouldn't get out of bed! I've also tried Soma and that also worked pretty well for me and was not as sedating (for me anyway) as the flexeril.
Avatar f tn I had the Tylenol 3 first and then it wasn't helping so she decided that I could top up with Oxycodone, instead of going higher with the Tylenol 3's. I take 1 Oxycodone 4 times a day, and 2 Tylenol 3's 4 times a day. I do not think I have experienced and drowsiness on these medications, but definitely bursts of energy, and constipation, itchiness, and nausea, but thankfully no vomiting.
Avatar m tn flexiril, morphone, and now back on oxycodone, anyone have any exp with this and what is your advice, im 43 and was in good recovery health after original surgery so any advice
Avatar f tn I use Flexeril for my spasticity. I often take 1-3 milligrams of Klonipin to augment the Flexeril. I have heard of Buspar but don't know what type of medicine. As far as the marijuana, it does help with spasticity and/or spasms. And I have heard that it helps with pain. It is legal here but I haven't applied to buy/use it. There are loopholes that concern me. 1. Even though it is legal for people with MS to use as a medicine, it's still illegal to buy. 2.
1581408 tn?1296506870 m now on Gabapentin (300mg 3x daily) for the nerve damage he believes I suffered along with the fractured vertebrae (or because of it), Flexeril (5mg 3x daily) for muscle tension/pain (because I was getting frequent severe headaches and he thinks its from muscle tension due to the back pain), and Tylenol 3 (w/codeine & only as needed) for times the pain gets really intense. The combination of Gabapentin and Flexeril are already having a far more extreme effect on me than the Oxycodone did.
Avatar m tn You should be OK on those things but I would not start at the full doses of L-Tyrosine. Build up 500mg at a time and see how you do. You shouldn't need the valium with the Flexeril. Neurontin sometimes has helped with w/ds so that should actually benefit you.
1415174 tn?1453243103 I've tried both Soma and Flexeril (not at same time!) for muscle relaxers (I have fibromyalgia, lupus, severe arthritis). Really the only side effect I've experienced with the Flexeril is that it makes me VERY sleepy, but when I'm hurting and having trouble getting the rest that I need, that actually is a good thing!
232328 tn?1207090071 Hi there. I was prescribed flexeril today for some back pain. Can anyone tell me exactly what it is? If it is addicting? Will it make me sleepy/hyper, etc?
Avatar m tn I just seen that you posted. Sorry so long to get back with you. The flexeril never helped me. It did not even make me sleepy. Why don't you call the posion control hotline and believe it or not they can help you. If not they can give you a number to call. If you don't want to do that call your local er and let them know what's going on for him.
1855076 tn?1337115303 Hi Mary... I'm sorry to hear of your situation and flare with pain:( It's sad that this board has been so quietly lately with all the members that used to be here...Obviously it's always nice to have new people...but I miss some of the others as well. I also have Flexeril for use of muscle spasms as my opiates don't really touch that type of pain... Do you have a prescription for nerve pain like Lyrica, Neurontin or Cymbalta?
Avatar f tn Ended up giving me 10mg oxycontin 3x day, flexeril 2x, cambia (pill form) up to 2x a day and 5mg oxycodone 1-2 3-4 times a day. Made me nervous, but I went with it. Like when I was taking the 15mg, which I would break in half a lot of the time, I spread the 5mg out and with taking the oxycontin 3x a day, I was ok. Barely felt any change. I go in about 2 weeks ago for a refill and everything was the same except now the 5mg oxycodone was 1-2 a day.
Avatar f tn I use three per 12 hour period along with oxycodone, tramadol, neurontin and flexeril for pain. All the talk about Fentanyl has me concerned. BTW I am so thankful for this forum, whether or not one posts one can gain so much valuable information without fear of judgement. Kudos to sandee for keeping it going and thanx to everyone for straight up honesty in your replies to questions.
Avatar f tn Before getting pregnant i was taking tramadol and flexeril to take the edge off if my jaw started locking up. Now my ob just has me on the lowest dose of flexeril but it seems to do nothing for it. Just 10 more weeks though i think i can make it if i've gotten this far.
757527 tn?1237893063 My doctor prescribed 5mg Flexeril daily. I took one last night and my pain went from a 8 (on a 10 scale) to about a 3. Has anyone else tried these? Can they be used long term? I'd rather not have to rely on medicine, but if this is helping me, I may have to stick with it. I also get myofascial massages, use warm heat, take Vit B50, and am trying some new supplements for muscles and joints.
1577364 tn?1296689784 t live in total pain either. The oxycodone does wonders and I make sure I go a few days a week with taking nothing so as to not let my body get used to it. On those days I usually end up having a vodka or wine by late afternoon to take away some of the pain. Anyway, I will let you know what my new doctor suggests next week!
Avatar n tn My physician initially put me on Kadian and Oxycodone and I've had two spinal cortisone injections. My pain is less but stil debilitating. Another doctor has precripton Neutotin and Flexil. Which is preferred by most physicians and how long can I expect to be in pain.
