Flexeril for sleep

Common Questions and Answers about Flexeril for sleep

flexeril

232328 tn?1207090071 Today, I was given flexeril for a pulled muscle. I have anxiety issues and a touch of sleep apnea. I was wondering if this medicine would give me anxiety issues? Or just make me calm?
Avatar f tn My back is really bothering me!! Hurts so bad and can't relax for anything!! I'm 35 weeks and really want to! Has anyone taken a muscle relaxer or even a half of one?
Avatar n tn Flexeril didnt do anything at all for me - you may want to try it though - it might help sleep if taken around bedtime........its not dangerous at least........
Avatar m tn Wow, I'm out of action for at least 16 hours after just one Flexeril! And for the entire next day I'm a space cadet.
Avatar f tn I've tried both Soma and Flexeril (not at same time!) for muscle relaxers (I have fibromyalgia, lupus, severe arthritis). Really the only side effect I've experienced with the Flexeril is that it makes me VERY sleepy, but when I'm hurting and having trouble getting the rest that I need, that actually is a good thing!
733362 tn?1489794936 I have been taking 3/4 of a 10mg Flexerit once a day before bed Pain Management Dr put me on 4-1/2 yrs ago while detoxing from Valium (horrible). I'm sure God brought me here getting off Valium. People here helped me so much like Cricket, AtThebeach and many others. I couldn't have done it without them and our Heavenly Father. Was on Gabapentin (for me is a horrible drug). He offered that again, maybe won't be as bad now, not withdrawing from Valium.
Avatar f tn flexeril is not a drug of abuse as a norm..and good for u...made it thru to day 5..
Avatar n tn I swear by Flexeril! I have dealt with Chiari symptoms for over 20 years now and now if I take a Flexeril right when the headache starts to come on, I fall asleep and wake up as if I never had the headache. It is a miracle drug for Chiari headaches!!
Avatar f tn I had been taking Flexeril for 20 years to help me sleep and it stopped helping me a year ago. GP put me on Amitriptyline 10mg a year ago after a couple weeks it started to help some but haven’t gotten much more than 4-6 hours of sleep most nights sometimes 7 hrs. GP tried upping Amitriptyline but I got weird side effects so dropped back to 10mg..GP added Melatonin 5-10mg a couple months ago helped for awhile but now I go nights with no sleep to 2or 4 hours. Anyone else’s have this issue?
Avatar m tn Its been 26 days since off the hydro; I have been able to sleep without any muscle relaxers for the last 3 nights. only feeling an occassional slight muscle twitch in my leg. I thought it would never end but it did! I've been able to sleep 9-10 hours a night for 3 days. I'm still very tired tho for some reason, I suppose after the hell of a year of treatment for hep-c, and 2 months detoxing off hydro, being tired is "normal".
237152 tn?1206651036 Well I've never taken soma but have taken flexeril a lot, to help me sleep and to help with back spasms, I have never gotten any type of 'buzz' from it. Upon comparing the two on drugs.com under warning on soma it says not to take it if you have a history of alcohol or other substance abuse or dependence but under flexeril there is nothing of the sort. Hope that helps, Much Luv!!!
Avatar m tn t help much w/spasms, phase me or help with sleep. (I may have developed a huge tolerance for things.) Apparently SOMA is addictive so if the dr suggests that you might reconsider. Then again it seems everyone thinks everything is addictive. Personally I still have muscle cramps, spasms, aches etc after 8 months of aburtply stopping opiates (morphine & roxis) in ~ 5 days. Bananas help to a point.
Avatar f tn I have been prescribed Flexeril for over a year, as a muscle relaxant for long term back and neck pain... I was told it was a 'safe' drug, and not to worry about it - it was not addicting. Now, after taking it for this long, I have re-read the patient information packet, and see that it is only for short term use, and I cannot find information on how to titrate off. I get migraine headaches whenever I stop taking it for any length of time, as well as other symptoms...
Avatar m tn What I am wondering is, has anyone used Flexeril to help them sleep at night? My husband has some, and I am just remembering how hard it was to sleep. I will have to use something to help sleep at night because I work Mon-Fri 8:00-5:00.
Avatar n tn Has anyone ever takin flexeril during pregnancy? I'll be 24wks tomorrow. Obgyn put me on it due to pulling a muscle in my stomach. I'm high risk with twins.
Avatar m tn my muscles are so tight and knotted that it can leave me in tears (20 year old male). i have been taking flexeril for a year, and i have only used two bottles (60 10mg tablets) however, when i took one two nights ago, i began to shake and get very cold. following that immediately was immense pain in my chest, and extreme pressure going against my breathing. it was all night long until i could breath normally, i was so light headed from panting that it made me nauseous.
1068422 tn?1293684253 I take Klonopin at night for muscle spasms and to help me sleep . It works wonderfully. I also have a friend who takes it during the day in smaller amounts for "the shakes" and it seems to work. It is a benzodiazapine which means it is in the same class as Valium and some other drugs you may have heard of which cause relaxation and decreased activity.
Avatar f tn m on an arthritis oral medicine, Voltaren, twice a day and I take flexeril (cyclobenzaprene) in the evening to help me sleep. I also take a multivitamin, fish oil and calcium+D. It's a lot of pills, but I actually notice a difference when I have to stop taking my fish oil and voltaren before spinal injections or my upcoming second round of radiofrequency ablations. What I'm saying is be patient, and don't give up on finding what works for you! Hope you find relief soon!
Avatar m tn nuerontin, I also take flexeril rarely but it can help you sleep..I followed the recipe without difficulty...amino acids are naturally occurring/some our body makes and some we get from foods we eat......our body does not absorb alot of the pill form of amino acids anyway but some and it is helpful for healing our worn out brains....caution as with everything we take..I found it is best not to take the tyrosine at night...
871357 tn?1244040713 She has a major addictive personality, I do not want here to blow it, She went to the Doctor he prescribed Flexorill is this an addictive Drugg, or is that a stupid question? When she got home from Doc she went right to sleep all day, She woke for a little bit to go to bed, Her speach was slurred, she looked doped out, She then asked me to get her some excedrinPM ( I felt pissed off) You cant even keep your eyes open and you need something to go to sleep, What the hell....
Avatar m tn 2 glasses of wine helped me sleep last night..LOL...I am not a drinker. I may be doing that again tonight...better than pills. I did take Flexeril way back but didn't abuse it. It knocked me out completely.
Avatar f tn Anyone know if it's safe to take emergenc and a multivitmin? I tried googling it but. Bunch of nonsense came up. I really don't want to bother my poor primary care. I've already called him about ten times during this process. And my second question, I know you can't give medical advise. Just want to know if anyone has taken the muscle relaxer flexeril during wds. I'm afraid to try it because I don't want it to give me adverse affects.
Avatar n tn Muscle relaxers should not be used for sleep but for actual muscle pain / spasms. My husband takes them when he has bad neck pain / spasm days, but going to the chiropractor helps with that regard. He hates when he has to take them at night because they actual make him wake up in the middle of the night and then he can't go back to sleep. Stick with natural ways to induce sleep: tea, hot baths, and maybe some melatonin.
787406 tn?1339203183 She gave me Flexeril to help me sleep and to relax the muscles in my feet and low and behold the pain disappeared, now the only time i get the pain in my feet is when i have not gotten enough quality sleep.
