flexeril for sciatica

Ive been having alot of pain in my left leg and went to the dr she gave me flexeril and she said it was safe just to take as needed I hate taking anything especially since im pregnant. I dont drink smoke or eat high fat or sugary food this is a big change for me.back to flexeril has anyone else taken this for sciatica while pregnant? The pain unbearable and pain makes my sugar go up since I am a type 2 diabetic. Im worried it will cause problems.

I had sciatica for sometime and found it crippling. During the course of a check-up my GP did a check for Vitamin B12 levels and I was very low. B12 is the only vitamin that cannot be directly absorbed by the body and requires a gland in your stomach to emit an enzyme to allow it to absorb. As you get older this gland can stop working. They will do a blood test looking for an "intrinsic factor" to see if your stomach is capable of absorbing B12.

I also live near one of the clinics so I can get the exercise menu tailored for me. I was cautioned against chiropractic for my extruded disc and sciatica, as it could worsen my condition. I am 8 and one-half months post-injury and while I still have some sciatic pain, my day-to-day functioning is much improved. Good luck!

So he gave me flexeril and hydrocodone for the pain, also ordered a lumbar MRI. So I had that last week and got the results from the doc today and I was told that if I had left sided pain versus the right side, it would be explained completely from the MRI. I have 1 bulging disc which is pinching a nerve on the left side, but the right side of my back is normal. The doc has ordered a CBC and sedemantation (?) rate to check for inflammation within the body.

I have been suffering from on and off again lower back pain and sciatica for the past year. I also have GAD, BPH,and high blood pressure. I went to see the Ortho today and he prescribed 10mg hyro and 10 mg Flexeril until I can schedule PT again. I am going to make sure to go through all 3 weeks so that my cheap insurance will pay for an MRI. I had one a little over a year ago thatt revealed a bulged disc at L4 or L5...can't remember which.

I've tried both Soma and Flexeril (not at same time!) for muscle relaxers (I have fibromyalgia, lupus, severe arthritis). Really the only side effect I've experienced with the Flexeril is that it makes me VERY sleepy, but when I'm hurting and having trouble getting the rest that I need, that actually is a good thing!

Wow, I'm out of action for at least 16 hours after just one Flexeril! And for the entire next day I'm a space cadet.

Hi there. I was prescribed flexeril today for some back pain. Can anyone tell me exactly what it is? If it is addicting? Will it make me sleepy/hyper, etc?

My back is really bothering me!! Hurts so bad and can't relax for anything!! I'm 35 weeks and really want to! Has anyone taken a muscle relaxer or even a half of one?

ve been on gabapentin(neurontin)1400-1800mg for abt 5 years for sciatica...and other nerve pain. It has been a God send for me allows me to sleep at night without that throbbing pain. gabapentin is an anti-seisure medication, there are others in this catagory that I'v read that are also good.

Thats what my doc prescribed for me as well. Flexeril is safe to take during pregnancy. you can look up prescription meds at drugs.

I swear by Flexeril! I have dealt with Chiari symptoms for over 20 years now and now if I take a Flexeril right when the headache starts to come on, I fall asleep and wake up as if I never had the headache. It is a miracle drug for Chiari headaches!!

I have been down and fightin sciatica for going on six months so I am looking for help for chronic sciatica. I only have a small tear and bulging disc. after I Had a cyst removed that was on my spine. No other issues according to MRI. My condition should be an easy cure but for some reason is not healing. Open to Any suggestions? Thanks!

i have severe pains in the bone in my right butt cheek the pain runs to my foot walking is very difficult i have been like this for about a month also when in bed i wake up in pain when i have to turn in bed

flexeril is not a drug of abuse as a norm..and good for u...made it thru to day 5..

I'm worried! My fiancee' has been prescribed Tramadol, which worked very well for him but he has gone through 40 pills in 10 days and the way his dr. wrote his script it says "use 1-2 tablets every 8 hours as needed" so he cannot get a refill for another 2 weeks. He saw a local dr. who prescribed Flexeril, Percocet and Naproxen.

Its been going on for about 2 months now. I could be walking down the hall and i feel hot water on my cheeks and find that im crying. Most the time i dont feel sad or over happy or really anything and there is nothing ever in my eyes when the tears start to fall. I have seen myself cry, my face gets red and my eyes swell up and in all the times i found myself randomly crying my face is never red or my eyes are not puffy.

I was prescribed that along with hydro for my back and sciatica problems. I didn't find it to be addicting. Like Avisg, it does make you very sleepy. I actually took it while detoxing and it did knock me out and was able to sleep. I didn't think it helped with the back at all though. Just make sure you don't have any plans the first time you take it. It made me so tired I wasn't able to do anything.

I would avoid the alcohol while taking the flexeril completely. If you already were consuming alcohol, I would skip the flexeril for at least 12 hours or more, depending upon how much alcohol you consumed.

hi Punkie..........thats a good question and I have the same pain from the buttocks to the hip and radiating to the thigh and down my legs..worse on left side........I have 2 problems and this pain could be caused by either one doctor says one thing the other says different so gets very confusing. 1. it very well could be caused by the bursitis in our hips, although from what I understand that pain should only radiate as far as the thighs and not necessarily down the whole leg. 2.
