Hello -- I have been trying to find out whether consuming flax seed would interfere with the efficacy of the taxol / herceptin treatments that I am receiving for my breast cancer. I understand from a study done at the University of Toronto that flax seed may help to eliminate breast cancer. My husband developed squamous cell carcinoma 5 years ago. After 8 weeks of intensive radiation treatments, along with chemo, his behavior also changed. He doesn't remember things!! He also lost the use of his arms, his shoulder fell out of it's socket, he can not speak and can only eat thru a feeding tube. In the summer of 2009, after two years on home hospice, his tumors disappeared!!

I just googled Avastin side effects are there are many sites that have lots of info on there. Also, you could google the manufacturer or ask your oncology center for some fact sheets.... Just a thought.

I had a dosage of 125 mCi, 10 days ago, and a thyroidectomy due to papillary thyroid cancer with tall cells. I was also diagnosed with Breast cancer 3 years ago, and had a double mastectomy with reconstructive surgery and I'm doing fine from that but this thyroid cancer has really thrown me because of the Hashimoto's and the depressed hypo state I'm in I'm finder this cancer harder to cope with. I recently had a cyst removed about the size of a grape from my left ovary, however when we went into surgery my dr found one the size of my uterus behind my uterus attached to my right ovary. As a result due to shape n size n history my dr removed my rt ovary. I cannot go on birth control since I've had breast cancer 2 yrs before. I'm currently 37. & feel the effects of hot flashes. I'm just wondering is this to be expected? & if so what else should I expect.

If cancer cells were placed alongside flaxseed in a petrie dish, the cancer cells grew. This has yet to proven with live subjects, but in the meantime I have eliminated flaxseed. I am relaying on the essential fatty acids contained in hemp seed oil and in 5 almonds for my daily intake.
