Can any one tell me please , I have a breast cancer removal and overies removal two years ago, after thet i am in medication tamoxfen amd vit. i had a hot flashes but its reduced after that now i am in a ( hard ) diet with 5 days aweek exercise but the hot flases getting to much in order that i cannot sleep at nite>
Dose the diet and exercise with tamoxfen exhilarate hot flashes ?
In January, I could not take it any more. I bought soy milk, flax seed and chia seeds. I eat the chia and flax seeds with my nuts/oatmeal. I drink soy milk 2 or 3 days a week. (too much soy is not good for you I'm hearing), no more than a glass or mix with regular milk. My night sweats (they were getting pretty bad) and hot flashes have greatly diminished. My sleep has improved.
I did not have hot flashes before the IVF treatments.

Hello -- I have been trying to find out whether consuming flax seed would interfere with the efficacy of the taxol / herceptin treatments that I am receiving for my breast cancer. I understand from a study done at the University of Toronto that flax seed may help to eliminate breast cancer. However, I would not want to consume anything that would interfere with my regular medical treatment. The cancer is in the left side of my lymph system. It is estrogen-receptor and HER-2 positive.

i just started treatment with telaprevir, and have used flax seed oil for the fat on one dose and will use it again. the problem with flax seed oil is it goes rancid really fast. so if you are going to use it make sure you buy from a very reliable source that refrigerates the oil and check the date. yesterday i bought an 8 ounce bottle of barlean's flax oil that was pressed on 9/15/10 with an expiration of 3/15/11. so make sure it is supper fresh. rancid oil will cause liver damage.
It sounds like flax seed (I figured an ointment/liquid form for the eyes, one must read carefully) may be a good ongoing treatment as a simple food additive, if the dog will eat it. Is flax seed a seed? Where does one purchase it - I can check Amazon to see what they offer, but it may be a grocery store item for human consumption.
I try to ruse Opt morning and night, and wonder if using it once a day and say "artivicial tears" (for humans) once a day.
I use a stabalized ground flax seed product to provide about 2/3 of my daily Omega-3 and a high quality fish oil capsule for the final third. The flax adds a pleasant nutty flavor to the small portion of yogurt I mix it with.
I use products with (if I remember right) a 6:1 ratio of Omega-3:Omega-6. I get plenty of O-sixes from my diet (they are easy for most of us) but don't eat nearly enough foods rich in O-threes to keep a good ratio going.
My husband has severe dry eyes, and has started taking omega 3 and flax seed oil. It is working very well, but his dose (after gradual increase to a point of benefit) is more than recommended. Can he overdose on 3 times the normal dose of purified omega 3 fish oil..the brand he takes is Health from the Sea PFO pure fish oil liquid. He takes twice the dose of the flax seed oil (same brand name).
