Avatar f tn Sometimes a rotator cuff tear will cause upper arm pain like you are describing but not often seen in both upper extremities at the same time. Have it checked out!
Avatar n tn I do believe that Upper Cervical Care is a viable option for you. There are a handful of Upper Cervical specialists in Missouri - if I can help you find someone closer to you than my own office, I would be happy to do so.
Avatar f tn I had cervical decompression and anterior fusion surgery 11/16/07. My recovery has been pretty good. My x-rays show good fusion. However I am now experiencing similar pain in my neck, shoulder and upper arm just like before my surgery. I have been fairly pain free since my surgery so this is very scary. Any ideas on what this is?
Avatar f tn This past year I have developed numb areas on my left calf and upper thigh (and no hair grows there anymore), however after I rub it a few seconds it does regain feeling. I am constantly having cramps in the bottom of my foot and left buttocks. I have had an MRI with contrast on my brain that showed fluid behind my ear, but no one was concerned. I have had MRIs of my cervical spine and lumbar spine that show degenerative disc changes, but ortho doesn't feel nerves are being pinched.
Avatar f tn The cervical osteophyte is causing central canal stenosis in an already kyphotic cervical spine. At the same level i.e C5/C6 level, there is reversal of spine curvature. Non-invasive spinal care is essential for patients with fibromyalgia in order to keep the spine and muscles from losing too much movement since fibromyalgia causes muscles to tighten up and lose some of their natural pliability which tightens the muscles further.
Avatar n tn pain in the upper arm, right in the middle. No shoulder or elbow pain. Left is worse than the right, if I bump my arm or if someone sqeezes my arm, even lightly it causes me more pain. My arms hurt all the the time, I wake up in pain. I am 19 yrs old and have been having this pain since I was about 11 yrs old. I have been to a Rheumatologist, Orthopedic, Muscle specialist and Surgeon. I have had MRIs, Xrays and an EEG...nothing! The pain is always there, please please help.
Avatar n tn I am in desperate need of some help/guidance. I have been dealing with constant upper back pain (mainly between shoulder blades) since May 5th.I am a 25 year old male and I went snowboarding for the first time in my life on March 30th. For the month of April, I was not very active. I work out regularly with weight and running but I did not do much. I was sore for the 1st week after snowboarding but it subsisded fairly quickly.
Avatar n tn Hypolordosis means a reversal of the normal spinal curvature, and cervical refers to the neck, so cervical hypolordosis would mean the neck is not curved properly. The human spine in profile from the side looks somewhat like an S. This reversal can be due to trauma, or more commonly, due to degenerative conditions, such as aging or arthritic changes.
Avatar m tn This may be long winded but I've seen enough Dr.s that I thought I would give this a stab. Diagnosed years ago with Fibromyalgia which being in the medical field doesn't really fly as a diagnosis. But, unless someone is smarter than the professionals I've been seeing then I welcome any advice. So, here are the diagnosis and symptoms.
745660 tn?1322273183 They are on the upper side of being hyper responsive. He still thinks its benign form of MS or my Fibromyalgia. But can't say for sure since the labs were negative.. The treatment he says will be the same...treat the symptoms. He said he wouldn't start me on MS meds due to the side effects and I am still functional. I really want an answer! Do you think this MRI will help...he ordered it without contrast. Is there typically alot of lesions in the cervical area in MS? .
Avatar m tn It can be due to fibromyalgia (Muscles aches and stiffness are common traits of this condition) or cervical spondolysis.Possibility of syringomyelia is also there. It is a disorder in which a cyst or cavity forms within the spinal cord. Since the spinal cord connects the brain to nerves in the extremities, this damage may result in pain, weakness, and stiffness in the back, shoulders, arms, or legs.
Avatar f tn MRI History I would like to thank you for replying. My MRI report details are as under: History: Neck pain radiating to right upper limb. Parameters: FSE T1, T2 & STIR sagittal images of the cervical spine followed by FSE T2 weighted coronal & gradient echo T2 weighted transverse sections with slice thickness of 4 mm. & 3 mm. Findings: There is evidence of congenital block vertebrae at C6-C7 level with mild degenerative changes in endplates of C5.
Avatar n tn does anyone know how long can secondary fibro last, my rheumy says that my cervical fusion in march of this year has caused all my pain and fatigue due to it being the cause of this secondary fibro. I did have a positive ana but the rheumy says he does not read much into ana tests.
Avatar m tn Hey Everyone, I need some help diagnosing Chiari, I have suffered all of my life from pressure, pain&stiffness in my neck - two spots, base of the skull and base of the neck, along with pain&stiffness in my shoulders, upper back, arms and upper chest, aside from the muscle/joint pain I have nausea or some sort of discomfort in my stomach most of the time and light ringing in my ears 24/7.
Avatar f tn Too-tight, underwired or sports bras can add stress on bones and muscles by pressing on the rib cage, which in turn puts pressure on the diaphragm. Muscles that run from the upper part of the cervical spine and attach to the upper ribs can also be restricted by wearing tight bras. Sports bras should not be worn all day long for this reason. It can also cause back pain and rib pain due to the constriction, and I would imagine in fibro, the pain would even be worse.
Avatar f tn The two are MS or fibromyalgia. He is not sure as I am atypical for both. In the meantime, he gave me a prescription for neurontin (yes, finally someone who listens) and is going to watch. I guess it is darkest just before the dawn.
894326 tn?1279784085 Reversal of the normal cervical lordosis centered at the c4-5 level. Mild irregularity of the end plates of c4-c5 and c-6 seen likely degenerative in etiology. c2-3: unremarkable on the sagitlal images. c3-c4 posterior disc bulge with tiny central disc herniation and facet disease causing mild ritht foraminal narrowing. c4-c5: Posterior disc bulge with a central disc herniation and facet disease causing mild spinal stenosis at this level. Foramina appear patent.
Avatar f tn Occipital headache, on the other hand, may result from inflammation, injury, or pressure on the occipital nerves, upper cervical spinal roots, dorsal horn, or sensory ganglion. It may happen to have compounding cervicogenic headaches because of the severe stress of the original headache. However, it is best that you have this evaluated further for proepr management. Take care and best regards.
Avatar m tn You could be suffering from either of these two things .High gastric acidity can tend to collect in the upper part of the stomach. Any herniated disc or any local lesion of the armpit can cause altered sensation in the armpit. Treatment will depend on the underlying cause. Good luck and regards!.
Avatar n tn Have they found out the cause behind your fibromyalgia? Unless the correct cause is diagnosed, treatment will not be optimum. Where is the pain located?
Avatar f tn When I reach for the door knob,my hand jerks downward .
