Avatar f tn Hi! I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia and Ehlers-Danlos syndrome. I have horrible pain and my doctors are trying to work with me to find a treatment that doesn't involve heavy pain meds. I have serious issues with my digestive system and so most pain medicine such as vicoden(sp?) or any of those types constipate me. I was hoping for a natural suggestion to talk with my doctor about.
Avatar f tn Does anyone know of a doctor who will prescribe me methadone in low doses for my fibromyalgia. I've tried all kinds of pain meds, including natural and methadone is the only drug that gets me out of bed.

Avatar f tn Progesterone has a calming effect on the body and is good for pain relief. Some people are even using natural progesterone cream for fibromyalgia treatment. I don't now how far along you are in your pregnancy, but maybe the pain will get better. Also maybe there are some natural treatments to look into that would be safe to use while pregnant. How about a massage? There are natural supplements for pain too, but I do not know if they are safe to use during pregnancy.

1033336 tn?1252506131 The characteristic feature of Fibromyalgia is a muscle pain mostly in neck, back, thighs, and hips. There is presence of specific tender points in these areas that trigger the pain. Along with this there is morning stiffness in the muscles, brain fog, dizziness and other neurological symptoms. Since you are suffering from pain specifically located at the joints, and it started after the flu, the pains are related to the viral infection.

Avatar f tn I was diagnosed and treated for my fibromyalgia by a pain management doctor several years ago, and then my primary care doctor continued that same treatment. My daughter was seen, diagnosed and treated by a Rheumatologist, and my mother was treated by a Rheumatologist. I went to a Rheumatologist for the first time today, I finally have insurance after 1 1/2 years without.

230948 tn?1235844329 Myofascial pain is often one of the "Monster List" symptoms of fibromyalgia. The medications you are currently taking should help numb the pain, but it won't alleviate it completely. The trigger point injections should help with this type of pain and any type of low-impact therapy will be of benefit to your rigidness and mobility.
Avatar f tn I never know where the pain is going to be when I wake up. It has been so sever in my arm that I couldn't move it, had to take cortisone. Has been in my neck, foot, knee, eyes and finger so far. The finger was the only spot that showed obvious inflammation. I am 63 and I do have arthritis. Any ideas?
Avatar f tn I have been diagnosed with fibromyalgia after chest, throat, joint pain and generally being unwell (and after many hospital visits and tests). For the past two weeks I have had a severe headache which has worsened every day. I have had a CT Scan and I am waiting for an MRI Scan; I am on medication but nothing eases the headache (it's like a constant pressure that eases for short periods, but these periods are becoming shorter). It seems to put pressure on my neck, throat and shoulders.

7450908 tn?1390996321 I was diagnosed with fibro about 18 years ago. I've been using Lyrica & was using Cymbalta for a while as well. I quit using the antidepressant because it seemed to make the depression worse. I'm on low income & I'm telling this medication is getting so expensive that I have a hard time affording to buy just a months worth at taking one a day. At certain times of the year I have to take more than one a day. Is there a more natural way to deal with fibro?
5586759 tn?1370435272 I've had Fibromyalgia since I was a teenager and I have gone through one pregnancy already, but at the time I hadn't been diagnosed properly for the ailments that I have. It's now round two, I am pregnant again, and I'm wondering about good suggestions to help maintain lower levels of pain. Last time I was put on bed rest at 8 1/2 months and that was torture for my sciatica nerve. I'm trying to stay active and strong.
