Fibromyalgia and hip pain

Common Questions and Answers about Fibromyalgia and hip pain

fibromyalgia

Avatar f tn The characteristic difference between Fibromyalgia and other joint disorder is that Fibromyalgia presents with muscle pain. Unlike arthritis, the incapacitating pain is not in the joints but in the muscles and ligaments. Fibromyalgia is known for presentation of pain at specific sites known as tender points or tender spots. The pain is commonly located in the neck, shoulders, back, and hip and the tender points are located in the same regions.

Avatar n tn I am in Physical Therapy for my spinal stenosis and hip and butt pain. It is making the pain level unbearable I am unable to walk two days after the treatment. Getting steroids in both knees this week for my arthritis. I am at the end of my rope.
358486 tn?1294779988 this leads to Fibromyalgia, but not in all the cases, of course. It is also noted that those who complain of more pain after the surgery, have more chance of developing fibromyalgia. One more reason thought to be implicated in post surgery fibromyalgia is ..... the neck is hyper-extended while doing the intubation and this constitutes a neck injury! Hope that helps.

Avatar n tn Left hip pain in center of buttock, currently being treated for lymphoma. May 05 xray found fractured pelvic. One doctor saw boney lesions. The pelvic is supposed to heal once the cancer is gone. I've had six chemo treatments so far. In 1996, I was disabled from traction, had lower back surgery in 99. The surgery helped some. What is causing the aching pain? I am in bed 22 hours a day except when I drive to the doctor and pharmacy. One doctor said it was Fibromyalgia.
Avatar f tn Hip pain can be caused by a variety of problems. Were it FMS causing the pain you would likely be feeling more than just pain in that one area. Since you do not mention any other symptoms, i'm more inclined to feel it could be due to your disk. I hope you have received your test results or get them soon so you will have more answers. Take care.
5505362 tn?1368963264 I asked for hip x-rays to see if my hip pain was relevant to anything and found out that I have arthritis and bone spurs in both hips. I notice that it affects my gait but it seems to be independent of my MS. The worst hip is my "bad" side and I do tend to notice more pain with it when I am tired. I went to a physiotherapist who gave me some exercises to help with what he called muscle imbalance. Good luck and I hope your pain gets resolved soon.
Avatar f tn He never mentioned Fibromyalgia to me. In fact, nobody has. So on my own I have scoured the internet and searched inner ear pain and fibro. I saw people have experienced this and I felt hopeful that I am not alone in this. I also at times feel like I get a flare up and feel like I have sores ( you cant see them) in my mouth, primarily right sided at the moment. Or a feeling of something caught in my throat. I feel like I am losing my mind and my life over this.
Avatar f tn I also have chronic neck, back and hip pain. This has been going on for a long time now, over a year. I just live with the pain. I am tired throughout the day. I cannot sleep at night. I was wondering if all of this could be due to fibromyalgia?

Avatar f tn It was not much of a problem and little bit pain was there. I visited a doctor in April, 2007 and he gave me injection on the affected area. I was relieved of pain immediately but it came again after 1-2 months. But this time, I ignored it but it was not troubling me that much. Then I got married in the month of Feb, 2008. As an Indian Bride, I was also wearing lot of jewellery and that included “BANGLES” as well. Now something new started, the pain grew on me and entire right hand was in mess.
Avatar f tn Here in the states fibromyalgia is treated with lyrica, cymbalta and a few other drugs that help with pain and help sleeping. In addition many of us take other pain meds. The care is supposed to be just for the person. What may work for me may not work for you. I think you need to see a rheumy dr. He treats people with pain in the joints and such. I also have a spine condition I've had since birth . I was told I would always have pain in my lower back. I went to a chriopractor.
Avatar f tn even have trouble walking. That's when I did my own research and learned about hip bursitis ...i was in so much pain at work... The following morning I had too call my doctor and ask too be withdrawed from working...I never thought at the age of 25...

Avatar n tn Does your wife just have neck pain or does she have widespread body pain? I have neck, shoulder, hip pain on a daily basis and then i get hand, feet and brain fog when i am in a flare and flu like symtoms. I cant advise on dc as i live in the U.K.
Avatar f tn I know how painful fibromyalgia and hip bursitis can be, I hope that you find comfort in your pain soon!!!
808425 tn?1371095928 Those different areas do not cause me as much pain on an ongoing basis as the the pain I have daily in my knees and hips. When I walk or stand, the pain is dull, not as bad. When I sit, my hips hurt more, and my knees follow suit. If I try to cross my legs, the pain is unbearable. I try to relax with friends or family, and I can't find a position that I can tolerate. I can't spend the rest of my life standing! Also, when in bed, if I keep my legs straight, the pain is not as bad.
Avatar f tn I also have Sjogren's, fibromyalgia, and a variant on the MEFV gene. My doctor prescribed Elmiron which I just started. Is there a connection between interstitial cystitis and Sjogren's, fibromyalgia, or the inflammatory response from the genetic variant? I'm wondering if there are other treatment options besides the medication that will also address the other issues.

Avatar n tn I had a neurosurgeon friend look at the EMG results and he said no signs of ALS. Since that time in the past 8 weeks I have very bad pain in my neck, shoulders, and arms. I have some pain in my collarbone. My low back and hips hurt too. My legs ache, primarily in my knees, on and off but this has been the case for most of my life. I also have RLS on and off since the birth of my first child.
Avatar m tn Wnet through SEVERE post-partum depression and thought I would die!! The pain comes and goes and I have flares sometimes lasting months. Have seen several Rheumatology docs and they all mentioned possibility of Fibro. In 2006, became pregnant with kid #2. Felt good during pregnancy then the arthritis/fibromyalgia is working OT. I have never felt worse.
900697 tn?1246542502 Even if he thought it was just back pain and not RA, an antiinflammatory, muscle relaxer and something for the pain are fairly standard treatments.
Avatar f tn I was just diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, I have some osteoarthritis and have had a hip replacement 4 yrs ago, in the last year I have becomed very fatigued, muscle pain especially in arms, shoulder area, hands and feet, I have very little energy to go to gym anymore, I heard that 50% of people with fibromyalgia also have low thyroid, even though my thyroid test shows normal, could thyroid medication help?
Avatar n tn Since giving birth all of these things have increased as well as back and hip pain. I'm concerned because I'm 5 weeks post pregnancy and it doesn't seem to be getting better for me. I suffered from a considerable amount of depression for a number of years which the doctors seemed to always blame for these issues. I have however been off any and all medication for depression for nearly 2 years yet these symptoms just haven't eased at all.
Avatar n tn I walked with a very stiff knee for 2 years due to severe tendon/muscle pain that might be like your ankle situation. This made my hip tight also, and began to reshape the bones. With the Neurontin (1 year), continued exercise, and a healthy diet, I have gradually gained range of motion in that knee and have started to be able to strenthen some of the muscles that weren't used for a long time. I'm not totally symmetric in terms of flexibility and function, but it's a lot better.
1839746 tn?1318550406 Now I feel burning pain near my neck, head, hip region and legs. It is worse than before. I ham on complete rest for the past 2 months. Does ozone really work??? what is happening in my case??
5682570 tn?1372290919 I have fibromyalgia and hepatitis c. I have a constant rash and itching, sometimes better, sometimes worse. It is very annoying, I feel like I might have a thyroid problem but doc says she can tell by my blood work I do not have a problem. I do not agree with that, but maybe it is the fibro or the Hepatitis C. All the doc gave me was hydrocortisone 2 %. Not much help there though. My rash is on my forearms and sides of hip and lower belly. I have had it over 6 months now.
