Common Questions and Answers about Fibromyalgia pain worse at night

fibromyalgia

Avatar m tn Yes I have the worst pain at night when I am inactive! I can wake up from the pain in my muscles and joints! My fibro brings about a flare often. Now I find after getting a block walked with my dog and my lower back pain is excruciating! I also have problems with IBS-C. I know for a fact fibromyalgia exists! ITs a tough thing to deal with too! Good luck to you!
Avatar f tn but realize it is my eyes. At night when I go down my stairs and into my kitchen (without lights on) the only light coming in is from two windows so it is dark. When I close my left eye I can not see out of my right eye. It does clear up a little if I wait long enough but there is something going on. Could you list the possibilities please? Thanks in advanced for your help. Carol...
Avatar f tn I have this problem, too. There have been times when I've woken up to a limb (very often my right arm) that is paralyzed. I hadn't slept on it wrong and it doesn't have any pressure on it. I"ve wondered this, too. At present, my right leg has severe tingling when sitting on a soft couch with legs uncrossed too long. It probably has something to do with inactivity during these time periods, but I don't know the mechanism myself, so did a little research.
Avatar f tn My pains are worse in the morning and at night as well. Last night I also started to go to the ER. I take my AmbienCR to go to sleep earlier than normal when I feel this way so that I can go to sleep as soon as possible. Usually when this occurs I take that pill at 7pm.
1744910 tn?1314199685 Mine are worse because I overdo it and do not realize it and because when I am no longer busy I notice the pain. I use hypnosis to fall asleep it at least it helps to relax. If I awaken by a spasm that is when it is tough. I often sleep with my arms above my head grabbing onto the bed because of the spasms.
Avatar f tn I then have to lay in bed for a minute or two to let the pain go away. It only happens when i have to pee though, and only at night. Could it be from being curled up and stretching my leg to fast, or how the baby is laying on my bladder? Also i dont think i have a uti because i just went to the doctors Tuesday and they didnt say anything about a uti.
Avatar f tn Does anyone have their most bothersome symptoms at night, after lying down ? Gas, burning in abdomen and stomach and generally uncomfortable all night. Just started on Bentyl but since i don't seem to have gas during the daytime, have mostly used it at night. I did use it at first before breakfast just to see if there was any difference but can't see that it has made any difference, day or night. Also tried drinks ( Metamucil and another similar ) which seem to make things worse.
Avatar n tn I have severe asthma AND VCD. I was recently started on CPAP for a mild case of sleep apnea. I hate it! I can't breathe with the machine on and it gives me headaches. I'm not sleeping any better with it than I was without it. I'm still waking up at least once per night needing to do a neb treatment. I also have fibromyalgia and PD, so I'm up several times per night due to pain, which the CPAP doesn't help.
Avatar n tn Hi, Myofascial pain symptoms usually involve muscle pain with specific "trigger" or "tender" points. The pain can be made worse with activity or stress. In addition to the local or regional pain associated with myofascial pain syndrome, people with the disorder also can suffer from depression, fatigue and behavioral disturbances.Trigger points can be identified by pain that results when pressure is applied to an area of a person's body.
Avatar f tn Has anyone had joint pain in their shoulders that progressively got worse to the point of muscle weakness? I feel like it's something other than fibro. RA?
Avatar n tn I get stabbing pin like sensation all ovr my body. I am tired and achy. I get very little sleep. Have night sweats and at times chills. What is wrong with me. i am 54 and female.
Avatar f tn Hello. I am new to this whole online medical community, but I officially have no where else to go. I join this in hopes to help find an answer about my mothers conditions. My mother is 52 years old and is dying before our family's eyes. Over the past few years her problems have just taken a turn for the worse and no doctor will even take the time to run tests.
Avatar f tn t really sound much like fibromyalgia pain - that pain is typically widespread and not just in one area (although certain areas can feel worse at times than other areas). It also usually affects both sides of the body pretty equally. It sounds more like maybe a shoulder injury (have you fallen or stretched your shoulder at all? heavy lifting?) I could also be a pleuritic type pain (inflammation of the area around the lungs).
1540869 tn?1351214013 My anxiety and depression has always gotten worse at night, but lately it's been really bad. I know that it's normal to be more in a depressive state at night but why is it so bad? I get weird thoughts and sometimes weird dreams, and i start crying out of no where or getting mad and upset . Sometimes It just gets out of control and I can catch it but it's hard to stop it all together.
1548028 tn?1324612446 My son gets terrible shocks in his legs at night (during day too but really bad at night). He says sometimes they are quick but sometimes they are lasting for several minutes. I know he is having a lot of trouble sleeping. He says he just gets to sleep and the pains start over. Any suggestions or tricks to help these? He takes Neurotin 1200mg-1600mg/day.
Avatar f tn I have been suffering from constant pain throughout my body for almost 2 years now. It has gotten alot worse in the last 6 months. I have been diagnosed with fibromyalgia at the time it firt started but since it has gotten worse my neck and back just about kill me all the time and pains shoot all over my body night and day. I keep a dull aching headache that nothing I take stops it and it is not migraines because I have had these really bad a few years back.
Avatar f tn I have asked my doctor am on a few antidepressants and one antianxiety pill then I have a pain pump as well for chronic pain. I fall asleep like this every day now for the last at least six months or longer and I am getting very concerned!! Sometimes meds will cover up and not show all the true answers of blood work!!!?? This is where I am still very confused!!
Avatar f tn I am 57 yo & have had bad arm pain at night & wake up with it every night. It is consistently worse if I have been active like digging or lifting in the garden. It started as numbness in fingers but now after two years has progressed to both arms, the pain is quite bad & won't go away unless I get up out of bed. I went to a chiropractor which was no help at all.
Avatar f tn IC stands for Interstitial Cystitis (painful bladder disease). My doctor said that they all could be related, and because I have all of them plus IBS, that they can all flare at the same time and make all of them worse at one time. So I've been in constant pain lately. Going to have a robotic laproscopy some time in Feb to remove the scar tissue/adhesions, seperate the ovary, fallopian tube and bowels from eachother and hopefully save the ovary and tube. Has anyone ever had this done?
Avatar m tn For the past four months I have had a burning prickling sensation that travels all over my body. It is always somewhere and worse at night. It is really bad on my left shin and as of today I'm wincing a lot. Going to a neurologist but am not hopeful. I also take omneprazole for acid reflux and do have both stress and mild anxiety. At this point only this weird pain is causing any anxiety. Also have fatigue..that just got really severe along with this pain.
