Avatar m tn Thank you so much for responding. Yes I do take suppressive therapy, but at times I do forget to take the pills which I know is a problem. I have some hormonal issues when I have my monthly period as well, which I know contributes to the EM. I went to the doctor today and had a well woman check up and they suggested I also go to a dermatologist. They gave me a script for Valtrex, not the generic form, to see if that may make a difference. I certainly hope so.

You should also maintain hygiene and try to keep the area clean and dry, wear loose-fitting cotton clothing. Also use an antibacterial soap or mild soap like dove.Avoid deodorant / cosmetics. You can also steroid creams after a doctor’s guidance and also consult your doctor regarding alternative drugs to Cymbalta.

2114467 tn?1358210256 They can really dry you at as it is and I noticed I was urinating less frequently when I took Allegra (Fexofenadine) during the day and the Benedryl at night. I had to make a conscious effort to drink water almost all the time.
Avatar f tn The funny thing is it starts from the back shoulders, at night and is intense. I get all worked up itching and then after having Claratin it subsided to my left below the knees area. I am confused if this is related to indoor plants or food or air. Thanks.

Avatar m tn Would anyone know the difference between Piriton and Fexofenadine? Which is stronger?
Avatar f tn Sometimes double conventional doses of non-sedating antihistamines such as Cetirizine(zyrcet), Loratadine(Claritin) and Fexofenadine may be needed to get symptom relief. Sedating antihistamines such as Chlorphenamine(benadryl) or Hydroxyzine are used at night to get urticaria control. Short courses of oral cortisone or steroids are taken for short periods (one to three days) to settle more severe symptoms. You may take Vitamin C along with the prescribed treatment.
Avatar f tn Longer-acting antihistamines are available by prescription. They cause less drowsiness and can work just as well. These medications include fexofenadine (Allegra), and cetirizine (Zyrtec). You can also use nasal corticosteroid sprays like nasocort or flonase. Decongestants may also be helpful in reducing symptoms such as nasal congestion, but they should not be used for long periods. Cromolyn sodium is a nasal spray (Nasalcrom) for treating hay fever.
Avatar m tn i went to the hospital and the doctor said that i have urticaria, she prescribed me a medicine called fexofenadine. the med is very helpful everytime the rashes appears, i just take the medicine and the rashes will gone but i have to take it everyday, i dont know if this medicine have side effects.
Avatar m tn When allergens cross-link the IgE molecules degranulation is induced and mediators such as histamine and other vasoactive amines are released and produce the allergic reactions. Diagnosis of allergies is done by skin ***** or patch tests and confirmation is done by blood tests like RAST. The most important treatment for allergies is avoidance of the allergen.

Avatar m tn I have never taken any medicines before and just started taking a lot of Benadryl and Ibuprofen (for a back injury that happened around the same time) and have definitely noticed the side effects. Damned if you do, damned if you don't. Nothing going on for awhile, will post if/as more info turns up.

369994 tn?1225733799 on second round of predenisone while I am still taking fexofenadine and benadryl. We are not sure what started the reaction but I am scheduled to see an allergist. As far as I know, other than itching spells... I am not aware that I am highly allergic but for some reason now I seem to be allergic to a lot of things. or atleast sensitvie to many things. We think my BP medicines started the chain reaction. any help would be appreciated.
Avatar f tn Yes I have tried both claritin and benadryl and prescribe medicines(hydroxyz hcl 50 mg & fexofenadine 180) and all I do is sleep. I see my life passing because I can not function this way. Very depressing. Condition seem to be getting worse so I called Dr. to ask what to do, never received a return call. That is the reason that I am so upset. I seem to be caught by a dr. whose does not care or does not know what to do and I have no idea of what to do.

Avatar m tn Now I am taking Fexofenadine Hydrochloride 180 mg (1+0+0), Montelukast 10 mg (0+0+1), Mizolastine (1+0+0) and Avamys (Fluticasone furoate) Nasal Spray. I also have taken Deltasone (Prednisone) (1+0+0) for one week at this month. Is the medication alright? Is there any way to cure fully? Looking forward to hearing from you soon.

Avatar m tn At any rate, I was prescribed Fexofenadine and some stronger topical creams. After about a month or so, the flare up seemed to go away. I continued taking the prescription for another several months and then discontinued it. I didn't have any issues again until last month and it seems the whole thing is starting over again. The itching and burning seem more severe this time and I'm going to try taking the allergy medicine again and see what happens.
