Hey friends I came through surgery well.

has anyone ever tried to detox off fentanyl patches (not perscribed) im in the fourth day of the worst withdraws Ive ever had. Does anyone know how long this is supposed to last?

We're not neurologists here, but if she's in an ICU, she's being seen by every specialist she needs to be seen by. Now, not all docs are equally good at what they do and not all hospitals are equally good, but if she's had brain function tested she is getting neurological care. Know that different individuals react differently to the same treatment, and that the condition they come into the hospital with differs as well.

After many surgeries 40+ and in ICU what damage has occured. Newbe here but I haven't seen that dicusion kicked around. Surely they do damage along with opiates for pain after the surgery. Could they help the lessen time to become addicted/dependent. What effect do they have on addiction. Surely these chemicals are very addictive? Thanks!

Many times this will depend on ur dr and u...how u do.....I was in ICU for 2 and a 1/2 days and then in the reg room for 3days..... May I ask who is doing ur surgery?.... I am glad to welcome u to our little family here, sorry the reason u had to seek us out.

I know before 34 weeks something like that they keep babys in icu .im 32 weeks 2days due in jan 6th but I have a feeling this baby will come in another few weeks I'm uncomforable, I'm dilated and have back pains unless I'm up doing stuff.

Since he came out of surgery he has been put in induced coma and on a ventilator his oxygen level is low and his lung is operating at a 23% capacity.. doctors think that he might developed infection and are giving him antibiotics for the past 3 days. My question is will his lung be able to improve and start working at a higher capacity?

Just awful...Fentanyl is bad sh!t in any form! I hate the stuff, even in a controlled environment! I'll bet she'll plead to a lesser charge though...

I have been on Fentanyl for 8 years and just found out, we are pregnant. In shock, since we have children ready for college. Has anyone gone through and entire pregnancy while on Fentanyl. I have read all reports/studies and have the best dr's. However, I need to know more. Thanks you.

Just curious? A friend of mine told me she's on fentanyl patches. We got into a slight conversation, becuz I told her I was detoxing off percocets.(proudly I might add), she said it was an opioid. So my question is, does opioids do the same thing as far as our receptors, and endorphins in our brains from percocets. With the patch she said she has never felt the things I described to her. I was just curious, does fentanyl patches work the same way as percocets?

Sorry it took me so long to get back but my father-in-law has been in the ICU since Thursday and just went home yesterday with hospice so things have been a little busy. I had switched to wearing my patch on my arm vs. my back in the beginning and after reading your comments i switched to the back again and I think that is helping. Also they are giving me a 12.5 mcg patch to add to the 25 and see if that helps and can make it last the 3 days.

I've just been switched from Fentanyl 25mcg every 48 hrs to Oxymorphone 10mg every 12hrs. I feel way worse (pain) & was wondering if anyone knows what the equivalence is between the 2. I have a feeling I've just been decreased in pain relief. My dr & the pharmacist told me to wait a few days to "feel it's working" & in the meantime I'm in excruciating pain. My father is admitted in ICU( in the hospital ) for the last 20days as he was diagnose pneumonia.He is diabetic and has BP also.since 2days doctors are removing water from lungs(putting syringe from side of the waist).But the water is again getting filled (but slowly)what is the the treatment and how long is the hospitalization is required?

what is the half life of oxycodone in cats? I've heard it works well for pain in cats. I'm trying to get more information on what may help my 12 year old cat. I'd like to have my questions in order before I pay my/her vet?

Have been on Fentanyl patches 125/hr every 48 hours and 4-5 Percocet daily plus maybe 8 10mg Vicodin a day. How long before starting the Suboxone should I stop all of these meds. I have Clonidine for withdrawals how can it help. I am scared to death. Have never been in withdrawal from Opiates. I was told 36 hours prior but am so afraid of precipitated withdrawals. Hi Chichi - I was on the fentanyl patch after I got out of the hospital with a stint in ICU. In the hospital I was switched to dialuid (sp?) b/c my body vitals were truly out of whack despite a blood transfusion to stabilize. After that drama, I was put on fentanyl w/roxis for breakthrough & a host of other stuff. I was on the fentanyl for about a month and dr was increasing from 72 to 48 hrs think it was the 75 or 100 patch definitely not those tiny 25s.

Hepatic encephality and is under coma in icu in one of the superspeciality hospital.she is currently on ventilator and blood pressure controlling machine.

I did have a script for Fentanyl and Oxycodone and the others were off the streets.
