Avatar f tn Do you know what the source of your cats pain is? Human meds especially pain have to be given in precise doses (vet should help with this) Cats and dogs can be unintentialy overdosed. They all react differently. Fentanyl is an extremely strong opiate! I have been on it personally. I fell asleep standing up! I believe in some cases they also use Morphine. I have to look up metacam must be new.
Avatar f tn It now makes perfect sense to me why you are in so much pain on the Fentanyl. Converting 360 mg of Oxycontin to Fentanyl results in 150 mcg/hr...this is conservative. Converting Fentanyl to equal 360 mg of Oxycontin with the opioid calculator results in 300 mcg/hr. This is the largest dose conversion that is shown in the fentanyl prescription leaflet that comes in the box with the medication. So your doctor's thoughts that you need to keep going up on the Fentanyl patch are CORRECT.
Avatar n tn All my cats are indoor cats. Indoor cats live longer and stay healthier. I do leave them out in the back yard on weekends for about an hour, supervised of course.
Avatar m tn Revolution is primarily a treatment for fleas in cats and dogs but it is approved for ear mites in both.
495284 tn?1333894042 Just awful...Fentanyl is bad sh!t in any form! I hate the stuff, even in a controlled environment! I'll bet she'll plead to a lesser charge though...
1563533 tn?1345366296 I have always had houseplants and my cats never seemed to care. My cats, however, were indoor-outdoor cats. I think cats require an outside life, unlike dogs whose life is with their masters.
Avatar m tn Just curious? A friend of mine told me she's on fentanyl patches. We got into a slight conversation, becuz I told her I was detoxing off percocets.(proudly I might add), she said it was an opioid. So my question is, does opioids do the same thing as far as our receptors, and endorphins in our brains from percocets. With the patch she said she has never felt the things I described to her. I was just curious, does fentanyl patches work the same way as percocets?
Avatar f tn I've just been switched from Fentanyl 25mcg every 48 hrs to Oxymorphone 10mg every 12hrs. I feel way worse (pain) & was wondering if anyone knows what the equivalence is between the 2. I have a feeling I've just been decreased in pain relief. My dr & the pharmacist told me to wait a few days to "feel it's working" & in the meantime I'm in excruciating pain. Can anyone help with what I can do here? Btw...

2013578 tn?1341812012 ) Its an amino acid that strengthens the immune system so they can fight off this on their own, its usually viral in cats... but if in doubt at all please speak to a Vet first.....could also be that she has a small particle irritating her nasal passage (?) for cats with an acute attack we use 500mg for a week, than down to 250mg following for a few weeks. and for cats its important to use the brand with NO additives...just pure lysine. I will give you a link to where I order mine from...
Avatar f tn Btw cats get jealous ive seen it first hand. One reason i dont want to leave my babies in her house.
Avatar f tn You need to stay very well hydrated. Someone with more experience with the patch will post shortly. Hang in there. Do you have Epsom salt for hot baths?

Avatar n tn The good news is the prognosis for cats with Squamous cell carcinoma is much better than it is for other types of cancer. If the cancer is treated early enough, squamous cell carcinoma in cats is usually treatable. In most cats with skin Squamous cell carcinoma, the prognosis following surgery is excellent. It is promising that the affected area is small. It is a much better prognosis than for nose, ears or mouth!
Avatar f tn When we got Harley he was with a group of cats that were living in the woods. I was able to capture him and two others. All three of them had such bad teeth problems that after a time they had all their teeth pulled except for one cat, they left him four. The vet was unable to determine how old they were because of the poor teeth. I would think it would take maybe four years to have them get so bad, guessing, so that would make Harley 12 now.
Avatar f tn when my Opus was on BP meds it was the same for 3 years I went no where, when my husband was ill and in hospital in the city 3 hrs away I would drive home for the night so Opus could have his meds a.m. and pm......man the things we don't do for those little guys eh!! you will get onto it and will do fine and Maggie will do good also now that she's had a diagnosis. take care.
1560663 tn?1298046527 Opus88 I tried everything for Toonces, yes pumpkin included....fiber in cats with megacolon is tricky, it can sometimes absorb the water thus leading to even more constipation. Wet food over dry food is better but then you have to try and brush their teeth or give a few greenies (if you can afford it) to help with the teeth.
6726276 tn?1421126668 That's what I love about cats. Akira is definitely a lap cat and a cuddle buddy. I took some cute pictures with the new camera phone that I haven't been able to figure out how to download to the computer yet, but one of the pictures shows Akira in her basket reaching out with her paw telling me she wants me to pet her. My previous cat was affectionate with me, but she was painfully shy and was never one to be a lap cat. So, they definitely have different personalities.
3160774 tn?1343705010 Have been on Fentanyl patches 125/hr every 48 hours and 4-5 Percocet daily plus maybe 8 10mg Vicodin a day. How long before starting the Suboxone should I stop all of these meds. I have Clonidine for withdrawals how can it help. I am scared to death. Have never been in withdrawal from Opiates. I was told 36 hours prior but am so afraid of precipitated withdrawals. Has anyone been here that can give me some advice?
Avatar m tn I have 6 feral/outdoor cats that I feed in my backyard. Three months ago they were spayed/neutered, inoculated, and treated topically for fleas with Revolution while under anesthesia. I have since given them oral anti-flea meds in their food, so I am not worried about that. In the interim, a family member began complaining of severe itching and overall discomfort. He went to a dermatologist, who diagnosed him with suffering from a mite infestation.
