sneeze

Avatar f tn Last fall I noticed many of them sneezing, and they have leaky eyes and now that winter is here they are really coughing and sneezing with eyes and noses that are leaking. I feel so sorry for them and I don't know what they have? I have been giving them lots of warm meals and cleaning their eyes and noses. Thank you.
203342 tn?1328740807 Since not much can be done about herpes and you are running short on money, you may want to skip the herpes test and concentrate more on the mass. With no test, your vet is just guessing at this point about the herpes so it's possible your kitty could also have a blocked tear duct which will cause the eyes to run (I just read this in my cat magazine) and not herpes at all. Best of luck, hon, and please let us know about the blood results.
Avatar n tn It had like an %80 kill ratio for strays, and took out any of our weaker animals (those with feline AIDS, for example FLS). This does sound like that. It happened so quickly we didn't even have time to get to a vet before it had mostly run it's course. The problem is the secondary infections, which you try to treat with antibiotics. But the other big problem is a cat with a stuffed up nose WON'T EAT. They can't smell their food, and feel sick, so they have no real appetite.
1232362 tn?1333139006 she started sneezing alot last night-I picked her up the day before yesterday-should I do anything special? She's NOT coughing-I know kennel cough is dangerous; she's just sneezing. No yucky snottums or eye discharge and her appetite is normal.
Avatar f tn My cat became sick with a bad cold due to the feline herpes virus. We gave him the L-Lysine twice a day and some antibiotics once a day. It took the full week, but he got better. Three weeks later he starts to show signs of getting sick again...namely being a little snuffly. Started the L-Lysine again, but no change so we took him to the vet. Same diagnosis, same meds. He got worse and stopped eating. We were told he now had an infection in his head & his chest.

4113881 tn?1415853876 Brooklyn is an 8 month old Tabby I adopted from the shelter. Ive had him since he was 2 months. He was healthy until I adopted a 10 month old Siamese (Ninja) who came with an ear infection. Brooklyn got sick a week after I brought Ninja home. His left eye is always "winking" and sometimes oozes. Ive taken him to the vet 2 times over this with 2 rounds of antibiotic drops (Gentocin and Erythromycin) anti-viral Lysine and an injection of an unknown antibiotic.

Avatar m tn We did awesome with 3 cats for 16+ years, without a hitch ( besides boo boo piometrya ) and went years with what we got now , with no problems . So, Dora doesn't seem to be as bad as she was this morning. I gave her some wet food and she gobbled it all down :) She then layed down and went to sleep, and she looked comfortable.
Avatar n tn My 10 year old indoor cat started to have sneezing, nasal discharge, weight loss and a runny eye since November of 08 with heavy breathing. Went to the vet, they gave him amoxicillin tablets which got rid of the heavy breathing however it is January and he has lost alot of weight, has excessive phlegm in his troat, minor eye discharge and once in a while a runny nostril. His main problem seems to be the excessive phlegm. They have him on cephalexin which is not helping.
1356964 tn?1302091035 I have tried for the past two days Slippery elm, 1/4 teaspoon as I have read that it is safe for cats with no side effects and for cats with kidney disorders as long as their potassium levels are not low and their calcium levels are not high as hers are not.. Thank you.
Avatar f tn My mom's kitten was diagnosed with a virus because the nasal discharge is clear and not yellow green. And, she's pretty much just a little stuffy. You can tell that it's not bacterial because she's eating well and bouncing off the walls. How's Ozzies appetite? Is he playful? Hiding? I think cats have more severe symptoms when it's bacterial. I'm with Opus. I think the lysine would be great for Ozzie to take, if it doesn't harm the kidneys.
