Sneezing blood nasal discharge in humans

Common Questions and Answers about Sneezing blood nasal discharge in humans

sneeze

Avatar m tn Hi Ahmed34, The swelling in the nose is a common anatomical structure which is called turbinate and humans have a set of 3 turbinates in both the nostrils, this helps in warming and humidification of the air we inhale. We can usually see the lower most pair of turbinates on the either side of the nostril. It obviously gets enlarged during the attacks of common cold and appears red because of the congestion.
Avatar n tn whenever i suck out mucus i find some blood in it and a couple of times when i blow my nose i see some blood too... i have been suffering from runny nose and i have been also coughing for like about 2 weeks and i have only used otrivin for the runny nose... what could be wrong with me?
Avatar n tn It can be controlled by keeping the sneezing in check. Repeated sneezing could be due to vasomotor rhinitis, in which the symptoms occur in response to a trigger, like eating spicy food or going outside in the cold. The primary treatment is simply avoiding the things that trigger your symptoms. It is often treated with a drying nasal spray (like Atrovent) and antihistamines like chlopheneramine and lovatidine are effective. Nasal decongestant drops too relieve congestion.

MY VET HAS HAD HER ON ANTIROBE 75MG AND BAYTRIL 68.5 MY VARIOUS TIMES. WHEN ON THE ANTIBIOTICS SHE DOES MUCH BETTER, BUT ABOUT 2 DAYS AFTER THEY ARE STOPPED THE SYMPTOMS RETURN.
Avatar n tn Twice in the last six months using Flonase my mouth filled with blood from sinuses. Is another medication for sinusitis available?
7532341 tn?1391693986 t want to scare you but my Bailey also developed the same sneezing that also included a discharge with small amounts of blood. My Vet made her an appointment with a specialist that did xrays and found a large tumor back deep in her nasal passage, they didnt recommend any treatment other than comfort measures....when she totally lost her sense of smell of course she stopped eating and I had to put her down... but it could also be something lodged in his nasal passage...
Avatar f tn Hi, Dr. Sharma. Thanks for your response. How long is it to have normal discharge for? I also feel like I caught a cold, as I've been sneezing and seem to have a runny nose. Is that possible, or does it really like sound like a CSF leak? I definitely don't have headache, and the discharge is on and off. I went outside today, in the cold air, and felt more discharge than before. Shouldn't the discharge be persistent? Should I also have the salty taste in the back of my throat?
Avatar m tn Hi, welcome to the forum, one thing is certain that there is continued nasal irritation which is causing nasal sneezing. Sneezing is a protective mechanism which tries to drive the irritant out of the nasal passage. The possibility in your case is any particulate or foreign body may be left inside which may be irritating the nasal passage. There are receptors present on the nasal lining which are activated leading to sneezing reflex.
Avatar f tn Allergic Rhinitis is often associated with nasal stuffiness, sneezing and running nose, whereas sinusitis is associated with nasal stuffiness with or without nasal discharge. When the discharge is present it trickles down into your throat from behind the nose and it will irritate the pharyngeal mucosa, so you can see those hypertrophied lymphoid follicles (the one you are having in that photograph).
1801864 tn?1318097993 Rocky, it does indeed sound like some major dental problems, and I think that trying to brush his teeth at this point will do more stress than good. Most likely, kitty has gingivitis and will need a good cleaning and extractions. I zeroed in on your observation of the odor coming from the top of his head...you might bring up crytocococcosis to your Vet. This is a fungal infection obtained from inhaling bird dropping.

Avatar n tn My cat has been sneezing and having nasal discharge for a month now. She has no other symptoms. She plays, she eats well. Just sneezes and has nasal drainage. Her eyes are good. No swollen or runny eyes. Is this allergies? I noticed she usually only sneezes when her nose touches objects or she sniffs. Sometimes mucous comes out with the sneeze.
Avatar f tn I have a cat..shes been spayed n declawed n front...I found her n the rain one night n wall mart parking lot just wondering around..so I brought her home.Ive had her now for almost 4 years...she all of a sudden started sneezing constantly...and I noticed she just wasn't feeling good...she for some reason started drinking her water with her paw n getting it wet n her bowl n then licking it frm her paw?her eyes r runny n she's still snezzing bad...
Avatar n tn Hi, There is no relation between tonsillitis and the eye discharge, until and unless you have any allergic problems (sneezing, running nose, nasal blockage and throat irritation); you need to consult your eye specialist for the above problem.
Avatar n tn This is kind of strange but every time any form of heat turns on my nose and sinuses go crazy. I get incredible sinus pressure, my eyes water, I start sneezing continuously, and sometimes it is so hard to breath that I can't talk (It just feels like my throat is closing up). It won't take long for this to happen but it is especially fast/bad when I am in a car right next to the vent, which makes things interesting in the wintertime.
Avatar f tn Hi, welcome to the forum, one thing is certain that there is continued nasal irritation which is causing nasal itching and sneezing. Sneezing is a protective mechanism which tries to drive the irritant out of the nasal passage. The possibility in your case is any particulate or foreign body may be left inside which may be irritating the nasal passage or the tube insertion might have caused a minor injury to the nasal lining which will cause the feeling of persistent irritation.
Avatar n tn t know that I would rule it out. I have had many patients with chronic eye or nasal discharge or sneezing improve with L-Lysine supplements. L-Lysine is an amino acid that helps reduce the replication of Herpes and helps to reduce the symptoms. It is worth a try for a few weeks. It usually takes 1-2 weeks to see effect and some cats need to be on it for months or years.
2013578 tn?1341812012 ) Its an amino acid that strengthens the immune system so they can fight off this on their own, its usually viral in cats... but if in doubt at all please speak to a Vet first.....could also be that she has a small particle irritating her nasal passage (?) for cats with an acute attack we use 500mg for a week, than down to 250mg following for a few weeks. and for cats its important to use the brand with NO additives...just pure lysine. I will give you a link to where I order mine from...
Avatar n tn I would have the teeth done since they can be harboring infection and some of the roots of the teeth in the maxilla lead into the sinus cavity which in-turn leads to the nasal cavity. Prednisolone is an anti-inflammatory steroid. Cats are very resistant to side-effects from steroids, unless they are obese. Obese cats can develop diabetes with repeated use of INJECTABLE steroids. The dosing schedule for auto-immune disease in cats is very safe.
Avatar n tn Sudden onset or temporary clear discharge from the eyes can be caused by injury (although this is unlikely if the discharge is from both eyes), allergic reaction or an upper respiratory tract infection - just like when humans get watery eyes when suffering from a cold. If your cat has a respiratory infection he is likely to also develop a wet nose.
502070 tn?1210204494 Frequent bouts of sneezing with watery nasal discharge and associated itching in the nose, palate and throat can be a manifestation of Nasal Allergy. It may be associated with inflammatory nasal obstruction due to swelling of the turbinates and nasal mucosa. It is generally provoked by exposure to inhalant allergens such as dust, smoke, pollens, perfumes, cold air etc.
