1806721 tn?1554333407 Two days ago, I started to feel dizzy in the morning, and it gradually became worse and was accompanied by feelings of nauseous, chest pain, weakness, and cold sweating with fainting spells. I basically could not sit or move at all and felt like fainting even when lying down. My BP was 120/70 when normal, but it was like 85/40ish yesterday. No fever or bleeding or anything like that. Today, I finally start to feel better and my BP is backed up to 100/60.
920737 tn?1250348210 I would like to know if there are some good alternatives to calcium channel blockers. Brief background - MI in 1998 followed by stent placement. Multiple hospitalizations since for angina. Had three more stents placed (RCA, LAD, circumflex). Rotoblator procedure done. Bypass (5 grafts) done 1/09. Two grafts failed and another stent place in bypassed RCA 7/09. Was switched from lisinopril to amlodipine. Began Plavix.
Avatar f tn If your level is below 30 you can feel terrible and if it is below 20, you are positively deficient and your calcium is probably too low but will look normal or high -- doc has to check ionized calcium, not serum calcium. Vit D deficiency can lead to secondary thyroid condition and all the symptoms that go with that. Low calcium can causes muscle stiffness, cramping and even tetany.
917177 tn?1243354247 Fainting is not a good sign, as a women you have low iron bc of AF(aunt flow) but if you have heavy blood loss and fainting your iron maybe to low. You should discuss these things with your doc and when your ready with your parents(@ least your mom). You are 18 you're a teenager but considered a young adult. Good Luck!

Avatar n tn My girlfriend had her thyriod removed about a year ago and had all sorts of problems with her calcium and the bodies ability to take up the calcium from the tablets and they had to give her another smaller tablet (says the calcium tablets 8 four times a day where like horse tablets) to help the absorption in the end she was able to bring her tablets down to two 4 times a day with the help of this other tablet. I can ask her for you if you wish.

Avatar f tn I had one of my parathyroids transplanted into my neck and the other 3 were left intact. I had severe low calcium issues for a while, but now, (5 months post-op) everything seems to be normal calcium wise. I still take calcium & vit.D but only the typical amount that the average woman should take. . .nothing like the massive doses I was for the first few months. How are you feeling?
Avatar n tn I used HCTZ for 10 years to control my blood calcium. Last year, I got one morning and my heart rate when up to 128. My endo took me off HCTZ and my internal put me on Lopressor. I contued having a high heart rate after HCTZ was out of my system. This year, I was put back on HCTZ due to high urine calcium content but I could not tolerate the drug at all. Even though I was taking Lopressor, I had several instances where my heart went crazy and the beat shot up to 128-146.
Avatar f tn You must take Magnessium citrate and calcium citrate because it absorbs into you System better. Blood results will not indicate low magnesium level because most of it is stored in our cells. If you blood is low on magnesium that means your severely lacking the mineral. Try it I promise this will work. I went to all the doctors, cardiologist, and Electrophesiologist and they found nothing. I went as far as almost having an ablation done. But found this regime to be successful.
Avatar n tn prolia may cause low calcium levels, especially if you have kidney problems. Take calcium and vitamin D as directed by your doctor. (See also How to Use section.) Your doctor will order calcium blood tests before your first injection and during treatment.
Avatar f tn The day before yesterday, I woke up a migraine (about the 5th in my life) on the right side of my head (same side where I have pulsing in my ear periodically), first time having one on just one side, I think. Just the headache, nothing else. The right side of my head still felt weird once the pain itself was better. (I did have a couple of silent migraines 2 months ago also) I woke up the next a.m.
Avatar m tn Low potassium can also cause fainting due to low blood pressure. Have you had your blood pressure and pulse taken lying down for ten minutes and again after standing for two to three minutes? If so, with what results?
Avatar f tn The low pulse rate can definately be a reason for having dizzy and fainting spells. I don't want to alarm you however, I recently went through a long 2 months of thinking i had a heart problem when it was just anxiety. I had a really fast heart rate due to anxiety. How low is your pulse? Mine gets as low as 53 BPM without feeling dizzy or weird, which is common in young, active, healthy people.
Avatar n tn Other serum level tests Due to the relationship between PTH and calcium, calcium levels should be tested at the same time as PTH. Most laboratories have established reference values to indicate what PTH level is normal for a particular calcium level. In addition, the effects of PTH on kidney function and bone strength indicate that serum calcium, phosphorus, and creatinine levels should be measured together with PTH.
Avatar f tn I'm 11 weeks and I have been continously fainting at work. I'll lose my vision and hearing and just completely pass out. They keep telling me it's because I'm dehydrated but I'm drinking plenty of water and Gatorade and my blood pressure is very low. No one will really look more into it. I am very scared for my health and about losing my job over it. Please help.

Avatar n tn Other possibilities are chronic fatigue syndrome, depression, low Vit B12, low iron, low calcium, sodium and potassium. Hyperthyroidism too causes increased sweating and tiredness. It can also be due to menopause so get female hormone panel including LH, FSH, prolactin, estrogen, progesterone done. Do discuss this with your doctor and get yourself examined A comprehensive investigation is required keeping all the points in mind. Hope this helps. Take care!
