Avatar n tn My husband has been prescibed the the 9.5 exelon patch but we still have a supply of the 4.6 patches. With them being so expensive can I use two of the 4.6 patches at the same time until we run out?
Avatar n tn She has since tested negative for H Pylori, and has been taken off Razadyne(24 mg ) for memory problems, put on Exelon (6mg patch), then taken off it after two weeks and more nausea. She has been off the Exelon patch for 72 hours, and still experiences nausea when she moves about. Still puzzling and frustrating. doctors are stumped (still) and I am feeling worthless because I cannot help her kick the nausea or find the cause. Really looking for help here. Any will be gratefully accepted.
Avatar f tn t calming her down any, and she did not refil the prescription. 2 months later she had another bad dream and the doctor was notified. He then prescribed exelon. My question: If she does not have Alzheimer's disease, why would he prescribe either of these medicines for her? If this is dimentia, aren't there other drugs out there for that or even drugs that have a claming effect? From what I have read about excelon, I am not sure if it is compatible with her heart medication.
Avatar n tn Today i heard about the drug Remba, which sounds like a promising antidote, reversing memory loss etc. Someone in this forum mentioned that we can find this drug on the web. I have not been succesful in my search. I know it is either on research stages, or possibly in use in England. My mom suffers from this lewy body dementia, and i wish there was something more effective out there other than aricept or exelon... If anyone knows anything about REMBA, please drop me a line....

She has been off the Exelon patch for 72 hours, and still experiences nausea when she moves about. Recently, she started back on the lower dose of Razadyne. Her neurologist doesn't think the medicine is the cause of the nausea, though it could be aggrivating whatever is causing it.

Avatar f tn New drug is REMBER and it is still on trial from Aberdeen University. We are hoping this new drug can help hundred of thousand sufferers and their families back to normal. It is an awful diseas, it brings my tears to watch my husband going down hill. He was a pilot, he is 73, he had feeling that he was going to have dementia, it is such a shame he is so healthy but his brain is just not functioning as it should be.
Avatar f tn Butrans is Subutex or Suboxone, which is normally used of opiate withdrawal and addition recovery. While it's an opioid, it's not like Fentnyl. Just doing a quick google search should answer any questions you have about it. The patch was just released in January so it's really new. The origin drug has only been around since the 80's and Subutex has only been around since 2002.
1476285 tn?1287337784 I am interested in info from anyone doing the new 3-drug regime w/ interferon, ribavirin and telaprevir who are also taking suboxone. I am currently on suboxone: 3/5's to 1/2 tab per day. I wasn't put on it for drug abuse but I was on pain meds (lortab & fentenayl patch) for chronic pain. I went on suboxone to get off the pain mgmt regime.
Avatar f tn Drug Withdrawal/Post-Removal Symptoms: Symptoms such as dizziness, nausea, vomiting, and headache occur following abrupt discontinuation of antimuscarinics. Similar symptoms, including disturbances of equilibrium, have been reported in some patients following discontinuation of use of the Transderm Scōp system. These symptoms usually do not appear until 24 hours or more after the patch has been removed.
Avatar m tn can i combine 225mg. of effexor xr with exelon or dexamphetamine to help my sedated or lethargic condition?
Avatar n tn I called the Dr. and she told me to take dramamine. I remembered I had one patch left so I applied the patch again. Within 3 hours I was feeling better and that next day began to feel better. I wore the patch for 3 days and then removed the patch again. Within 24 hours became violently ill again. At this time I didn't give much thought to the patch and medication content. So I called the Dr. for more patches. I then reapplied the patch and again began feeling better in a few hours.
Avatar f tn The only 7 day patch I know of is the Butrans patch. Buprenorphine (butrans) is Suboxone. It's normally used for addiction recovery but it looks like they're using it in low doses for pain management in the patch. This is what I found on it from Wikipedia. "Available buprenorphine formulations include a 5, 10 and 20 mcg per hour, 7-day patch, marketed as Butrans in the U.S.A.
Avatar m tn I have been on fentanyl patches and oxycodone for about 6 months now. prior i was just on oxycodone ( but a higher daily dose by different dr.). my current dr has increased me from 25 to 100mcg patch over the 6 month period. i was also taking 15 mg oxycodone 3x daily. with the increase in the patch he has decreased my oxycodone.. now i currently take 5mg oxycodone 3x daily. the patch does give me some relief, but the oxycodone seemed to work better.
Avatar f tn I have been on the duregesic 75 pain patch for 4 years. also taking occasional vicodin for pain when it gets real bad. I have fibromyaligia, and RA, as well as chronic back pain. How much is too much? I am so afraid of the addictions. you hear so much about prescription drug addition. I am actually looking at some sites today to try to get off these medications, but then what do I do about the horrible pain in my body? am I worried for no reason.
Avatar n tn It would be helpful if the Exelon Patch advertisers didn't feel it was necessary to have their information on continual scroll. There is a reason why I don't read rolling credits at the end of a movie, too. They usually roll too fast to read and simply hurt my head and can trigger migraines. Most of the time I don't see rolling adds, but when I do, I'm put off. Uh...I did not search for anything that would have had anything to do with this particular advertiser.
6425474 tn?1381182466 From there he will hopefully end up with the proper treatment for detoxing and possibly a treatment center for his addiction also. A treatment center will create a complete change in his normal habitat along with a break from the people he hangs with. It will also create enough clean time before he gets back out into the world for him to get his thinking turned around. If nothing changes nothing changes. It's as simple as that. He needs to change his playground, playmates and playthings.
369629 tn?1237812958 Sub in both of its forms (Subutex for the beginning of treatment and Suboxone for the maintenance phase) is a drug that is used to treat opiate dependence, however, like methadone, it too is addictive, so once you use Subutex and Suboxone to get away from the opiates, you then have to detox from the Suboxone. It's kind of an out of the frying pan and into the fire thing. Both Subutex and Suboxone are sublingual tablets, meaning you put them under your tongue to dissolve.
Avatar m tn I started with 25 mg every 72 hrs and then went to 25 every 48 hrs. I was getting worse about 4 months into the 25 mg patch and my pain doctor increased me to 50 mg every 48 hrs and told me that my body just got to a tolerance and we needed to go up. About 2 months into being on 50 mg I just couldnt ever figure out why i felt so weird all the time especially the second day after putting a patch on.
Avatar f tn I feel at such a loss in trying to help my Mother. I've gone back to Neurologist and am awaiting his advise, but he doesn't appear to be emphathetic to this issue. Her GP defers to the neurologist. My 81 yr old Mother in middle to late stage Alzheimer's. She is not on any anti-anxiety med except for Paxil which was prescribed about a month ago. She gets aggitated during the day at times and especially sundowners time.
1858011 tn?1319837353 They are the makers of the Duragesic (brand name) patch. I was on the 50mg patch that I changed every 72 hours. It has been wonderful. There is also a generic version, too. If you have insurance I would imagine you could go on it right away. Check with your doctor, and see if he will prescribe it. It is a form of Morphine. You may get great relief as I have. I hope this information helps. It is terrible to have that much pain. I understand how debilitating it is.
408795 tn?1324935675 Hey, great question. Perhaps they are worried about the burden of this drug on your liver or how your liver metabolizes methadone. The liver contains an enzyme system that breaks down the drug. There are several drugs that can influence this system and make you a fast metabolizer. I'm not sure if the standard of care drugs or any of the add ons cause this. Since you are stuck with chronic pain and chronic narcotic treatment maybe the transdermal fentanyl patch is an option.
Avatar f tn t afford to buy my own generic right now.Does anyone know of a generic equivalent patch that the drug company will give me for free?
Avatar n tn The amount of time it takes for the amount of drug in the body to reduce by 50% is called the half-life. It takes approximately five to six half lives for the drug to be cleared from the body. The half-life for fentanyl patches is 9.5 to 12.4 hours. Multiply that by 6 and it could take up to 74.4 hours to clear the drug. You can do the math. Fentanyl lozenges-approx. 7 hours. Hope this helps.
Avatar n tn I am on "the patch" (Duragesic 100mcg/q 3 days) and have been for the past several years. My teeth are bad, I can't get a real job because I can't pass a drug test and what my wife and family have to go through just is horrible. I have 2 good days out of 7 and I am DONE!!!! The reason I am on the patch has not changed. It is for the "treatment" of pain due to my MS and Spinal Stenosis.
