Her neurologist doesn't think the medicine is the cause of the nausea, though it could be aggrivating whatever is causing it.

t calming her down any, and she did not refil the prescription. 2 months later she had another bad dream and the doctor was notified. He then prescribed exelon.
My question: If she does not have Alzheimer's disease, why would he prescribe either of these medicines for her? If this is dimentia, aren't there other drugs out there for that or even drugs that have a claming effect? From what I have read about excelon, I am not sure if it is compatible with her heart medication.

It would be helpful if the Exelon Patch advertisers didn't feel it was necessary to have their information on continual scroll. There is a reason why I don't read rolling credits at the end of a movie, too. They usually roll too fast to read and simply hurt my head and can trigger migraines. Most of the time I don't see rolling adds, but when I do, I'm put off. Uh...I did not search for anything that would have had anything to do with this particular advertiser.

I feel at such a loss in trying to help my Mother. I've gone back to Neurologist and am awaiting his advise, but he doesn't appear to be emphathetic to this issue. Her GP defers to the neurologist. My 81 yr old Mother in middle to late stage Alzheimer's. She is not on any anti-anxiety med except for Paxil which was prescribed about a month ago. My family doctor has me on the androderm patch. It seems to be working ok, but it is somewhat of a pain to place the patch and keep it sticking. The doctor doesnt like the injections because your testosterone fluctuates too much. Why can't the injectable be made thinner and inject small amounts daily with an insulin syringe?.
I have experienced an itchy rash just in the area of the patch of the 5 microgram/hour Buprenorphine (BuTrans). The "rashes" were bearable for the first 3 weeks. One patch stays stuck on for a week. The pain management consultant advised a much higher dose, but with my medical history of reactions to medications, my doctor has started me on the lowest dose to see if I will be OK with it. - obviously not.

You can buy empty capsules and prepare your own doses by opening the Cymbalta capsules. I counted the little granules inside the Cymbalta capsules and calculate about how many granules (pellets) represents each miligram. For example if you have 250 granules on a 60mg Cymbalta capsules that means that about 4 granules represents 1 mg. This is just an example, I don't know how many granules you have in your capsules and I am assuming you are on 60 mg caspules.
Thank you. I notice you are in Cleveland and have a question regarding Mom. She has been treated for the last few years for Alzheimer's with an Exelon patch. I am not sure why she isn't on any other therapy but this is what her family doc has her on. She has not been "formaly" diagnosed however, the stress of the situation with dad has sent her downward very quickly. Unfortunetly without him, her anchor, her condition has become severe.
