Avatar n tn Exelon patch is on back order from the manufacturer until October 24. What alternatives are there?
Avatar n tn My husband has been prescibed the the 9.5 exelon patch but we still have a supply of the 4.6 patches. With them being so expensive can I use two of the 4.6 patches at the same time until we run out?
Avatar n tn She has since tested negative for H Pylori, and has been taken off Razadyne(24 mg ) for memory problems, put on Exelon (6mg patch), then taken off it after two weeks and more nausea. She has been off the Exelon patch for 72 hours, and still experiences nausea when she moves about. Still puzzling and frustrating. doctors are stumped (still) and I am feeling worthless because I cannot help her kick the nausea or find the cause. Really looking for help here. Any will be gratefully accepted.
Avatar f tn t calming her down any, and she did not refil the prescription. 2 months later she had another bad dream and the doctor was notified. He then prescribed exelon. My question: If she does not have Alzheimer's disease, why would he prescribe either of these medicines for her? If this is dimentia, aren't there other drugs out there for that or even drugs that have a claming effect? From what I have read about excelon, I am not sure if it is compatible with her heart medication.

She has been off the Exelon patch for 72 hours, and still experiences nausea when she moves about. Recently, she started back on the lower dose of Razadyne. Her neurologist doesn't think the medicine is the cause of the nausea, though it could be aggrivating whatever is causing it.

Avatar m tn can i combine 225mg. of effexor xr with exelon or dexamphetamine to help my sedated or lethargic condition?
Avatar n tn It would be helpful if the Exelon Patch advertisers didn't feel it was necessary to have their information on continual scroll. There is a reason why I don't read rolling credits at the end of a movie, too. They usually roll too fast to read and simply hurt my head and can trigger migraines. Most of the time I don't see rolling adds, but when I do, I'm put off. Uh...I did not search for anything that would have had anything to do with this particular advertiser.
Avatar f tn I feel at such a loss in trying to help my Mother. I've gone back to Neurologist and am awaiting his advise, but he doesn't appear to be emphathetic to this issue. Her GP defers to the neurologist. My 81 yr old Mother in middle to late stage Alzheimer's. She is not on any anti-anxiety med except for Paxil which was prescribed about a month ago. She gets aggitated during the day at times and especially sundowners time.
Avatar f tn They also make a 12.5 mg patch........standard school of thought is to drop your dose by 10-20% every 7-10 days..... You dont want to cut the patches - there is a risk of overdose when you cut a time release medication and it is all absorbed at once......Using the various strength patches you should be able to arrive at a taper... Or your Doc may want to put you on a different med to taper down...
Avatar f tn Has anyone tried Qutenza patches or anything with capsaicin for pain? I have extreme pain in both of my shoulders that actually causes me to be bedridden and unable to move my arms. I've seen 20+ doctors and tried over 15 prescription pain meds with little relief. I really want to try Qutenza patches but they are not prescribed in Canada, and I don't know anyone in the USA who can send me some.

Avatar m tn s hard for folks to get the right testing in canada unfortunately. the rates of hsv2 infection are the same in canada as in the US which means that 1 out of 4-5 has hsv2. Best of luck in finding a provider who will order the proper testing for you. You have to pay for it out of pocket but they can order it. perhaps call one of the labs ottmar listed if one is close to you and ask them for help?
Avatar m tn He lives a few hundred miles from me but was in to see us yesterday when he mentioned that he takes a pill once/day instead of wearing the nitro-patch. They had him on the patch at first but he was allergic to it and his Cardiologist had to make the change. My friend is happy with the change. I have a bit of a problem with the patch. The skin gets red and a bit sore where I wear the patch and sometimes I think I might run out of places to apply the patch.
Avatar m tn Hi, I was taking 30 mgs of oxycontin per day. I stared the fentanyl patch 5 days ago. After a couple of hours, I felt it had some effect, mostly a mental type of euphoric feeling. But then after, I´m really not sure if it´s working. I´m on the second day of my second patch. Wanted to know if this is normal? Could it take up to 5-6 days to feel a full effect from them.
Avatar n tn Never had a problem until now. He started with temp memory loss and the doctor put him on 2 Exelon Patches per day to help him with the memory loss and also he now on Oxcarbazepine 300 mg. My question is with him taking these two type of medications he is still having seizure and cant sleep. Me as a mother do know what to think and do to help him. Can someone help me with this.
Avatar f tn t tried that patch buy I did find a site offering comparisons of different anti-nausea drugs at http://www.drugs.com/condition/nausea-vomiting.html. I hope that helps!
Avatar m tn I'm just hoping for some general thoughts I guess. For the past 2.5 weeks I have noticed a red 'patch' on the shaft of my penis. It is sensitive and itches a bit but to be honest, I've been inspecting it constantly and applying a variety of creams, so I can't say if it would be if I wasn't doing that so much. For about 3 days any time I put any sort of cream (even vasoline) on it it would burn.
Avatar m tn s work on her eye, I urged her to go back into the hospital on Monday, which she did. She says that they did some more laser work, and as they took the patch off, her vision was blurry. Is it common to do two laser repairs only a few days apart? Is blurry vision a good thing? She peeked underneath her eye patch yesterday (Sunday) and said her vision was blurry at best. What has been your experience with retinal detachment recovery? Any opinions on how you think her recovery is coming?
Avatar f tn We do have a list for those in Canada, it is not a large list yet, as we only add Drs to it that have treated a member here and once they have been treated and liked the Dr we ask them to add the name....see the list of Drs in the Health Pages and click on link for Canada- http://www.medhelp.org/health_pages/list?cid=186 It is normal to be scare by this condition, just know u r not alone and the more u educate urself the better u will be at choosing the right Dr for u.
Avatar f tn ER doc said it was most likely 3d nerve palsy (pupil is normal, not blown) going to optometrist day after tomorrow and hopefully the family doc same day (need to rule out diabetes etc) Yes, I was given blood pressure meds (amlodipine 5mg once per day) My question is, should I only be covering the bad eye (helps eliminate double vision) or should i be switching sides with the eye patch?
Avatar n tn Have been getting what they call Hot flashes for over 1 year, mine our Hot Events as it last for days not minutes, I have been using an estogen patch that has been working for 6 months, now it back to happening just like at first every 1 -2 weeks for 1 full day and night, sometimes almost 3 days.
