are you saying they're giving you Enbrel only for psoriasis? you mean arthritic psoriasis? what were your symptoms/problems in the first place?

In some people with psoriasis interferon is contraindicated. It tends to make the psoriasis worse. I imagine that yours is moderate to severe since your doctor is prescribing enbrel. You need to talk to your doctors to get your answer to the questions. No one here knows your medical history. And yes, both meds can work for their respective diseases however interferon and enbrel work differently on the immune system and I don't know if they can even be taken together.

I'm in the same vote. On enbrel and have developed hpv. Very tiny bumps if even noticeable at all, but its been spreading. Aldara only made my psoriasis and psa flare up. I guess the next thing is to stop enbrel till my hpv clears up? I am 29, male, non smoker. Enbrel is the only med I take.

Despite great advances in the treatment of psoriasis,Coal tar remains gold standard as an ext application for plaque psoriasis.Steroid cremes do help,but int.steroids are contraindicated.Oral zinc is good.Cure remains yet as unachieved but then relief and remissions are achievable.

I suffer from Psoriasis as well and none of the steroid creams helped. I refused Enbrel because it increases the risk of Lymphoma and other things. I use Clobex spray and it has worked wonders!

Hi, I have severe Psoriasis on palms and bottoms of my feet. I have tried everything from cream to ointment, ulta violet and Grenns rays and nothing really worked. My doctor wants to put me on Enbrel but i am nervious about it. All the reading i do about it suggests that the cure is worse then the disease and it seems that the risk of getting cancer, lupus or the like is extreamly high (higher then the other injectables).

I have swelling and edema in right hand fingers and knees, I have some joint pain and some hives at times.No psoriasis on me. I am in my late twenties my doctor wants me to take embrel. I do not have typical back symptoms of this type of arthritis. I need a diagnosis, What could this be? I tend to get stressed and that causessome symptoms to be stronger.

Hello, I have severe psoriasis 98% of body its not fun,my dermatologist said he has done everything he could to try to control it but failed.dovonex,enbrel,humira,etc. i have endstage liver cirriosis, he says thats why he can't control it. that i have toxins, my autoimmune system is shut down,i take immune supplements,i detox my body too. use salts(dead sea), sugar ,honey based bodywashes,lotions nothing works.anybody have any ideas? something new?

I have known I have had psoriasis for 12 years. Over the last 4 year the itching as well as the skin breakouts have gotten worse. I have been to see my dermatologist 2 times a week for the last 3 years. I have asked for something to releave the itching and the doctor gives me creams and drugs that make me sleepy and the creams do no releave the itching either.

A friend of mine has PA and has been taking Enbrel for years and she is in great health now. I started taking it 14 weeks ago after being so miserable for 4 years. I feel the best I have since getting sick 4 years ago. I urge you to speak to your Dr. about it. Take care.

For the past six years I have been batteling with fungal infections (feet, ears, groin) and just recently I have been diagnosed with an infection on my penis and my hands after having had to take some antibiotics. This whole mess started when I was on Enbrel (I stopped taking that) to treat my psoriasis. I know that I don't have HIV since I already got tested for that (fairly recent too).

I am on Embrel treatment for my psoriasis and I got test foe STD's and everything came out negative, but the herpes came: IGG I : 0.28which is negative but the IGG II : 3.62, but I just remember that a day before the test I had an embrel. Can the Embrel affect the result of the test?

I suffer quite badly from Psoriatic Arthritis. I have no signs of Psoriasis, but my joints are inflammed and very painful. I'm 33, female. I'm taking 25mg of Methotrexate weekly, other anit-inflammatroy drugs. Doctor, I would like information related to Enbrel and MS. I used Enbrel for less than one year. I now have demylination of the cervical spinal cord, both optic nerves, plaques in my brain, numbness in leg and balance problems. I am now fifty eight. Symtoms started at age fifty six with numbness in leg and balance problems. I have been told it looks "MSish." Questions: now that the new symptom of, the optic nerves being demlinated, is it MS?

My problem is that when I get off Enbrel, every joint in my body swells, turns red, hurts unbearably and locks up. I become completely bedridden and cannot get dressed or go to the bathroom without help. I've never injected Enbrel in my stomach! I always do it in my thigh or butt... I did this Enbrel Pregnancy research when I was pregnant with my 2nd child. I have had RA since I was 15 and I have 2 children (pregnant with my 3rd). I used Enbrel during my pregnancies, just less often. I take a 25mg shot every other week or every 3rd... Everything is fine with my two children...I wish there was more research on it...

I was only 42 at the time and the thought of that was mindboggleing! Enbrel was introduced in 1998 and by the time my insurance agreed to pay for it it was Spring 1999 when I took my first injection. I started Enbrel along with an injectible dose of.09 Mtx weekly. For me Enbrel was a light-switch medication and within 2 weeks I was a normal functioning adult again with no pain at all.

t praise the drug enough fantastic results - i have the chance to visit family in Australia for 4 months when i retire in 18 months time the only obstacle is my medication and how would it work with my getting enbrel injections and it is a long flight - is there a solution around this problem
