Avatar f tn https://www.hopkinsarthritis.org/arthritis-info/rheumatoid-arthritis/ra-treatment/ It's definitely worth a visit to your doctor to discuss more budget-friendly alternatives.
Avatar n tn Um, well, you can likely tell you by looking at your blood counts. I have no idea if there is a drug test for this drug. Its not a controlled so not quite sure if anyone has adeveloped a way to look for it.
Avatar f tn Recently, the RA flared up and my doctor added Enbrel. I have severe headches and feel like my heart is beating so fast that i get dizzy. The doctor thinks that this is because I am on yet another medication and my body has to adjust. Is anyone familiar with this drug? Has anyone gone as far as to have a second opinion for their RA? I just find it scary to give you one drug to have to counteract side effects with another. Then they add more.
Avatar n tn Hi I have been on Enbrel injections for over 4 years and i can't praise the drug enough fantastic results - i have the chance to visit family in Australia for 4 months when i retire in 18 months time the only obstacle is my medication and how would it work with my getting enbrel injections and it is a long flight - is there a solution around this problem
1544019 tn?1318504526 Thanks, Justice! You should look into Enbrel when you're done with your pregnancy. It is seriously a MIRACLE drug for people with RA! At least it has been for me! About taking it during pregnancy, I have had to do a TON of research about the subject myself since there are discrepencies in the doctors viewpoints. The problem is that Enbrel is a relatively "new" drug. I have been taking it basically since it came out (since 2001).
422104 tn?1209763904 Ok, heres one for anybody out there. Has anyone tried the Enbrel, had no luck with it and gone on to either the Remicade or Humira and gotten results? It's a beautiful day here in the NE and the pup is telling me it's time to get out there! Make it a good day everyone and I will check in later today. Sue & Casey, ha ha!
Avatar n tn I ended up taking a few shots while I was pregnant(didn't know it) My daughter was born with a birth defect and thats the only drug I was on (enbrel). They say there hasn't been enough studies. but I'm hoping to get the word out there! Don't chance it! I can't begin to go over the battles we have been through with our little girl. best luck to you.
Avatar m tn I was SVR for 3 years now , HCV RNA - und , sensitivity 12 IU/ml Have a real pain from PsA and have to start treatment with ENBREL which is biological drug and it suppose to lower my immune system .My rheumy told me that there is tinny possibility of relapsing after taking it.. All this time I thought that once you get rid of virus that is it . How comes it can relapse after 3 years ??? Goggling thru the net couldn't find anything than can give any proof for his theory.
Avatar n tn Hello there, I am 24 years old male I was recently diagnosed with Reiter's Syndrome (Reactive Arthritis). I am positive for HLA-B27 antigen. It's been almost one month since the first swelling and before that I had Chlamydia. My symptoms so far are swelling in knees, elbow, ankles, toes, wrist, fingers, and I think in my spine too, and of course, pain and stiffness. I didn't have any other problem from the list of problems that come with Reiter's.
422104 tn?1209763904 Makes sense. The secretary started to say on the message " it is too much" and stopped herself, guess I jumped to the needle thing too quickly. I start taking Enbrel tomorrow for my arthritis and AS, the neuro says it's ok. When I researched the drug it states that people with MS should not take it. I asked a neuro on this forum about it and he said Enbrel can " increase and or bring on demyelination".
422104 tn?1209763904 Anyone taking Enbrel? Got my first shipment today and want to wait for the weekend to inject in case of any side affects. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
Avatar n tn Right sided numbness and weakness after the 3nd dose of enbrel. Unchanged in 9 weeks?
370181 tn?1595629445 I have now been through prednisone, methotrexate, Enbrel, Humara(Humira? sp) then back to Enbrel.......then nothing. The Enbrel worked very well, but I have massive anxiety about the biologics. I just don't trust them and and it's very frustrating. I feel like I'm between a rock and a hard spot. On one hand they really do make me feel better, pain and ROM vastly improved.
Avatar f tn Hi, my 18 year old son has just found out his girlfriend is pregnant, he had been on methotrexate for the last 13 years and we have always been warned about the dangers of fathering a child, I have read on this site a lot of people saying the child has been ok but they seem only to have been taking this med for a few months, does anyone have any advice for someone who has been taking this drug weekly since they were 5 years old and how it will affect an unborn child as he is at odds of whether t
1544019 tn?1318504526 I'm so sorry to hear about your pain, saraberry. I can totally relate. Even though osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis are two totally different diseases, having chronic pain is the same and it's SO hard. Yes, luckily, I am married to a SUPER supportive man who has been taking care of me and our two year old (adopted) son while I'm on bed rest. So that's good.
Avatar f tn Lulu--I used to take humira, which is a TNF inhibitor like Enbrel. One of the rare side effects of both humira and enbrel is the development of MS or MS-like symptoms. I didn't pay enough attention to the warning because it seemed so remote and happened so rarely. However, it happened to me. If what I have is MS, the doctor isn't sure whether the humira caused it, or if I would've gotten MS anyway, but the humira hurried the process along.
Avatar f tn A friend of mine has PA and has been taking Enbrel for years and she is in great health now. I started taking it 14 weeks ago after being so miserable for 4 years. I feel the best I have since getting sick 4 years ago. I urge you to speak to your Dr. about it. Take care.
Avatar f tn I would also think that you may want to start with a milder medication and then see how you respond. Enbrel is a drug that they usually work up to, not start out with. I would ask about starting on something for inflammation, like relafen, and then maybe plaquenil. If that does not control the symptoms, then Enbrel might be the next step.
Avatar n tn weird, never thought that enbrel would be a cause of hpv. I have developed hpv before starting on enbrel. what connection is there between the two?
Avatar f tn I was hoping someone with experience with this drug would come along. Do keep in mind that it is not a cure and that you will still have good days and bad days. The stress is going to exasperate it too. Talk to your doctor and explore your options. Good luck.
