Common Questions and Answers about Elisa test titer

elisa-test

Avatar m tn that elisa test is crap still used in the philippines and titer is a fraud, there is no titer in that number which is not hbsag at all but the quantity of reagent used.
Avatar m tn After treatment I went in October and did another test and never go the results but the doctor said over the phone that it lowered and I was clear of the infection. I recently (feb 2010) went again to the doctor and got tested again the new tier was 1:2. with a positive RPR. IgG was positive and IgM was negative. I have to take a blood exam in June and would like to test Negative on the RPR. If I get another penicillin shot can this help? Is there anything that could?
Avatar f tn Antibody testing should be done in a two-step process, using either the ELISA or IFA followed by the Western blot test. ELISA is considered a more reliable and accurate test than IFA, but IFA may be used if ELISA is not available. "The Western blot test (which is a more specific test) should be done in all people who have tested positive or borderline positive (equivocal) in an ELISA or IFA test.
Avatar m tn Which means it is neither positive nor negative, technically. The ELISA test that you had done has some problems with false positives in the low positive range (1.1 to 3.5). Your value was in that range. Since you have a clear negative now, if you were my patient, I would encourage you to accept that you are negative for HSV 2 and move on. If you need more reassurance, you could have a western blot done, but really, I think you are good to go. The IgM is useless - ignore it.
Avatar n tn The first screening test that is usually ordered is the ELISA. Not very accurate. I think less than 40% accurate if I remember correctly. I would consider seeing a doctor who specializes in lyme for an evaluation. The antibiotics certainly helped me but it took awhile.
Avatar f tn In doing the baseline bloodwork they mistakenly ordered a Herpes test instead of Hepatitis. Well the test came back positive. I'm confused because I have never had any symptoms. I don't understand the results either. The EIA was 1.61 - positive. They then ran the IFA test which was negative. Do I have herpes or not? The doctor that gave me the results said it could be from a cold sore I had when I was younger and it will always show positive.
Avatar f tn MORE INFO - I got concerned i still had something and started noticing symptoms again, ie, frequent urination, dull pressure in right and left side abdomen (it moves), tingling urethra. I got tested again, full std panel (so hsv elisa test) on 12/3 at this point I'd stopped the antibiotics, so was hoping they would not interfere with test, all results were neg (HSV2 was below 1.0 range so no # given).
Avatar f tn HbsAg w/ titer Elisa method result is 3.04 with cut off value .80 Is this still curable or can be lower? If i take medicine how long it will lower its results. Im currently on process for a canadian employment through an agency. Thanks and God Bless.
Avatar n tn Doctor - Her first test was for a standard Labcorp Elisa test that had a value of 1.22. The second test was for a Labcorp Immunoblot test and had a value of 8.8. The time between the two tests was a matter of weeks. Here is additional information taken from my previous thread on the Immunoblot test: "Reference for an “immunoblot” HSV serology test #138487.
5901675 tn?1376373311 i got today my HBsAG Elisa titer result. 0.060 was my result and the cut of value is 0.105 is that normal? please help me to understand this...
Avatar f tn If you were my patient, I would in fact do another type-specific syphilis test like the TPPA or an ELISA test. And I would also test you for certain underlying immunological abnormalities that are associated with false positive FTA-ABS results, in particular a test for anti-nuclear antibody (ANA). If you really have syphilis, your RPR titer should begin to decline as a result of the penicillin therapy.
Avatar n tn Here's my story: My new girlfriend had a std screen and herpes test (probably shouldn't have since she had no reason to believe she'd been exposed). Her Igg result came back at 1.19. She also was positive for HSV-1 but I don't recall the number. She had a followup Elisa test that came back "negative". At that same time I had blood drawn and sent out. I also had no reason to believe I had been exposed so I thought for sure my results would be negative.
Avatar m tn t know what type of test it was. About 3 weeks ago I went to an STD testing office and had an ELISA test that showed positive for HSV 2, with a titer count (?) of 1.832. I dug through all the forums and posts and saw that there is a high likelihood of a false positive, especially since I am positive for HSV 1. I went to a different/new doctor (new health insurance plan just kicked in), and I told him about my research and asked for a Western Blot or Biokit test, for accuracy.
798555 tn?1292787551 I have since learned that many consider lyme titer a useless test as far as accuracy goes - is this true? Would like to get proper testing - I guess that would be from Igenics. I checked out their site and they have a lot of tests - confusing. You would think they would make suggestions per State of residency of what to test. I am thinking of having a non lyme literate MD order the some type Igenics test to save a lot of time and money.
