Common Questions and Answers about Elisa test protocol

Avatar n tn The antigen test does not eliminate the need to get a 3 month conclusive test if you test negative on the antigen test. P24 are not an approved stand alone test. They must be followed up with an antibody test.
Avatar f tn Sarasota, FL (PRWEB) October 8, 2007 -- Phototherapy has had several recent patients report that they have tested negative for HSV 1 (oral herpes) and HSV 2 (genital herpes) with a standard ELISA blood test after utilizing the latest protocol and herbal cleanse. As a result, phototherapy would like to announce its further investigations and studies on these findings.
Avatar n tn Retest at 3 months post exposure with the OraQuick or ELISA test and obtain a conclusive test result. PCR-DNA test is not a test used in HIV diagnostics nor is it approved for it unless you are infant of 18 months or less and were born to a positive mother.
Avatar m tn Well I told the Gyno that I had unprotected sex she ran all STD tests. I'm assuming they did an Elisa test first and it came out positive. I thought they were required to do that. When I asked at the second appointment she didn't specify. When I mentioned the Elisa results she just shifted to the WB results. Not sure what that means. I've seen other people having same results and it turning out negative, but everyone's situation is different.
410821 tn?1202914556 I remember you! I am thrilled for you. If your positive test was the ELISA or the Western Blot it is likely accurate. The ELISA is pretty reliable "when it is positive" but not very good at all when it is negative. The general recommendations to do a Western Blot only when the ELISA is positive, don't make much sense if someone is having symptoms highly suggestive of Lyme.
Avatar f tn If I were somehow in your shoes, I would contact the University of Washington and follow the protocol to get the Western Blot test performed.
Avatar f tn Elisa is a method, not a specific test. You would have to ask your testing center. PCR can be used to screen blood, but again, it is NOT a test intended for diagnosis. It is a follow-up test after a positive antigen and/or antibody test.
Avatar m tn Sorry correction. Currently 115 days post exposure vaginal intercourse. He did not ejaculate in me. The rapid tests (finger prick, Oraquick) are negative. currently waiting for my ELSA test to result.
Avatar n tn Her Neuro-Optholmologist has several Lyme patients that have improved greatly using the Marshall protocol, but none of the local doctors in hopkins-land will admit to using the protocol since the graybeards at Hopkins "know better" and go after any doctor that tries to treat lyme with more than a 30 day dose of antibiotics. Is there any way to locate physician willing to consider using the Marshall protocol in this area???
Avatar f tn Hiye, this may seem a silly question but is the Elisa test that is used for HIV the same as the Elisa test used for rheumatoid arthritis?.. Is the Elisa just a standard antibody test that is not disease specific and if reactive then a specific test is used?..
Avatar n tn Vance2335 i took 2 HIV test in 2 different labs. ELISA Possitive CMIA Negative what should I do ?
Avatar m tn Phew Unfortunately I was unable to move past the initial Elisa result, and after struggling with anxiety went for another test at the same clinic 12 months post cunnilingus exposure, even though they advised me NOT to test again (7 months after initial tests). Once again Elisa came back on the border and Western Blot negative.

Avatar n tn Dear Doc (and forum readers), About a week or so ago I needed to get a medical check for work. When I got my results back, I was shocked to be told that the Elisa test came back as HIV reactive at 1.52. They tested it twice. I really have no idea what that number stands for, though. I don't have sex. No girlfriend. And I don't sleep with street workers. As far as I can remember, I have not come into contact with blood (except when killing mosquitoes).
Avatar m tn hello, i had protected sex with an hiv positive girl (i just discovered), i had sex with her twice, but she gave me several oral sex, i saw some blood on my penis in one of them, from her mouth i think.. i have no symptoms untill now, i did Elisa test 52 days after 1st time and 20 days after last time and today it´s been 2 months since 1st time (the day i saw the blood) and 1 month after our last time.
