Avatar m tn When my wife found it she was pregnant they had her do an HIV test and it was negative. Before she gave birth they had her do another one and she was negative. I took one about 3 weeks ago and it was negative. Is there a possibility that there are not enough HIV antibodies in our blood after 7 years of exposure? I've read that there is a seroconversion period and it is not detectable, but it's been 7 years for me. Can it be possible that this has not occurred after so many years?
Avatar m tn ve 30.50.60.70.80.86.92.115 elisa test. it necessary to obtain the test to be negative anymore, all the days of 6 months?
Avatar f tn For a conclusive negative test, there are no difference. All HIV test are 3 months post exposure for a conclusive result. A DUO can detect HIV apx 8 days earlier than a standard antibody test.
Avatar m tn i have got an elisa test done for hiv 3 years after exposure. my test confirmed that i was negative. do i need to get retested or can i be assured that i am hiv negative. and yeah thanks for answering my previous questions, it helped me a great deal. you all are doing a great job , thumbs up....
Avatar n tn I took an Elisa test and it was positive and I took a Western Blot test and it was negative. The syphilis test was negative. So I am taking another Elisa, Western Blot and PCR test. What are my chances of these tests being positive???
Avatar m tn Your elisa is looking for antibodies and it makes no difference to your test results even if you did all those above things.
Avatar n tn At six weeks, I had a PCR DNA and a PCR RNA both undetectable and elisa negative. Also, at 9 weeks, I had an elisa negative and a PCR RNA negative. For someone who is hiv+ and has not developed antibodies, wouldn't one of the PCR's detect the virus?
Avatar m tn 1- my test negative hiv1&2 screening the rapid test after 94 days that is test enough.
Avatar n tn is any other illness or sickness or infection can prevent my body to deliver detectable HIV antibodies, so the ELISA test came negative, my ELISA test for HELICOBACTER come out very high, the doctor said it is due to very longtime infection by HELICOBACTER, is HIV/ELISA test related to HELICOBACTER/ELISA test? are all people able to deliver detectable antibodies for HIV? and what is the max period that the body start delivering thoses antibodies?
Avatar n tn Confirmatory testing is only done when the ELISA is positive. But a positive ELISA with negative confirmatory test is absolute proof against HIV, no different than if the ELISA were positive. There were no conflicting test results in your case. If you doubt this, ask the provider who ordered the test. Time to move on. That's all for this thread.
Avatar n tn Is it possible to detect false -ve result in western blot test after performing ELISA test, what is the condition of person who has come with +ve ELISA test but -ve in western blot test. How much accurate are WB test as if ELISA test can have false +ve test then how can some some say that WB test are accurate if come with -ve result.
Avatar m tn My WB test was INDETERMINATE NEGATIVE and ELISA test result is also NEGATIVE (test was taken after 3 months of exposure). According to some internet sites, related to HIV/AIDS, I read that test result could be NEGATIVE during 'window period', even some one is infected (false result). I also read that WB TEST result could be INDETERMINATE if infected person is in 3rd stage (AIDS). My query is if I am in 3rd stage (AIDS); could my result come NEGATIVE in ELISA TEST too ? Please help.
Avatar m tn I in 26 February is a girl without condoms for oral sex, 1 March to test center testing HIV, the test is CMIA and elisa.cmia reported to be positive in that report ELISA is negative. Respectively on 8 March, 30 March and 3 may go on a test center for HIV, the test is ELISA HIV1 2 (Ag AB), report the result is negative. I would like to ask the doctor I can exclude the?? and test center staff told me that CMIA inspection accuracy than ELISA high.
Avatar m tn I WILL accept negative test at six month mark. Which one would you advise to take? ELISA(quest) or icma(labcorp)? That's all I am asking. Please answer and I will not ask anymore of you.
Avatar n tn From all Ive read here, most people get indeterminates on the Western Blot, not the Elisa. Weird? Anyway, his Western Blot was negative, as was his viral load test. Based on his symptoms...fatigue lasting approx 4 weeks, and his location, his drs have decided to treat him for Lyme disease, and do more testing...something about trying to find the exact strand of HIV(if he is pos). His drs say that he is 99% HIV negative, but I need to be 100% sure to continue.
Avatar n tn Thank you very much for your help. But,I have a test Colloidal Gold 3rd generation from hospital only ,I didn't have an ELISA test. Is there any difference?
Avatar f tn After consultation with my doctor i start treatment with Unifron and Riba1000. After 18 weeks it become negative. I completed my couruse with 24 weeks of medicine. I got test of PCR RNA Qualitative and it is negative. But when it Got tested of Elisa for HCV it is positive again and PCR RNA Qualitiative is negative. I tested again after 8 months of completion of my medicine course my Elisa is positive again but PCR RNA qualitatie is negative.
Avatar n tn 1) A Modern ELISA HIV test is extremely accurate. A NEGATIVE HIV test is CONCLUSIVE at 3 months. 2) A DUO test Antigen/Antibody assay is essentially two tests designed to detect recent infection (antigen) and antibody production (later). Keep in mind that HIV antigens are only detectable for about 3-4 weeks post -infection. By this time, antibodies are produced suppressing antigens but now these would be detected themselves. A completely reliable test when taken at the appropriate time.
