I didnt suffer from any flu like symptoms but decided to get tested (elisa duo) 6 weeks post exposure. I also had a full std check up. All my results came back negative, however i began to develop anxiety over how 'conclusive' these results were. On the 7th week I had a slight sore throat and went to the clinic for a rapid (finger *****) test. The results were negative. Since then i have been feeling light headed when i sometimes walk, as well as suffering from mild headaches.
Go get tested at 6 weeks and if you want again at 12 weeks for it to be conclusive but a negative at 6 weeks will probably not change. Also test for all other stds just in case. A test past 3 months is not necessary. Pray for me and I will pray for you man. Thank You. And yes the chance from a woman to a man is very low, but not impossible, never put yourself in that situation again. Take care and good health!
Why is it that they havent made a better way of Elisa or anything? its so a old way to find HIV. The Elisa test is like 20-25 years old. and they still use it? Why.
i have no symptoms untill now, i did Elisa test 52 days after 1st time and 20 days after last time and today it´s been 2 months since 1st time (the day i saw the blood) and 1 month after our last time. i live in africa, the doctor said that the elisa test i did is excellant and it could detect antibodies even 1 week after last time.

About a week or so ago I needed to get a medical check for work. When I got my results back, I was shocked to be told that the Elisa test came back as HIV reactive at 1.52. They tested it twice. I really have no idea what that number stands for, though.
I don't have sex. No girlfriend. And I don't sleep with street workers. As far as I can remember, I have not come into contact with blood (except when killing mosquitoes).
My husband had positive elisa test with 3.45 value in august 2016 for hepatitis c. Then he got treatment aND it showed 0.85 value in January 2017. He got checked his hepatitis C by elisa test again two days back. It showed a value of 85.0. He's active n doing job. No cough or any other symptoms. He did it as just a routine checkup. Please guide if elisa test can be 85.0 ?? What should we do next? Much worried! !
Any test you did after 3 months of the exposure, was conclusive. You o not have HIV, move on with your life.
Hi i Just wanted to know how accurate is ELISA third generation tests is,
my last sex was at 04/11/2010 i did the first test on 22/1/2011 the result wasELISA : HIV1&HIV2 NEGATIVE (0.15) i started to get worried of the number so i did a second test on 15/2/2011 just to make sure that i completed 3 monthes and the rsult came ELISA : HIV1&HIV2 NEGATIVE (0.33) i freeked out why that number is keeping rising !!
my doctor is said to me to give pcr-rt (quantitative) test? what is pcr? I am very worried.
and work in lap said me thit is elisa method . and take another test after 6 months result test after 2 days in hospital ?// can elisa method take result in 30 min only ????
3. any diffrent about first elisa gen and third gen?? the same window piriod after 6 months?
4. can antibdies late in 12 months ??
5. can all elisa test to detect hiv1 and hiv2 and all group or strains in hiv1

s been just over a month since my test and scared, and after 40 minutes in the room almost alone, ID doc came in and told me I tested negative on an ELISA test !!! about 10 weeks after risky exposure! WAA HOOOOOO!
Message of this story is , that I was totally figuring that I was positive, and you have to get a test and protect yourself in every situation. A friend of mine has a friend we went to college with whose parents died in about 1990 from AIDS.
